Minimum Energy Performance Standard(MEPS) has been adapted in Korea since 2008. The efficiency standard of variable speed motors is scheduled for publication shortly. In this paper, author reviews the technical trends associated with a high efficient electric motors by reference to research papers, and reviews the research direction to prepare for IE5. This paper provides an overview of high efficiency motors. Various applications have been covered.

본 고는 차세대 초고속 가입자 접속기술인 VDSL의 개발현황과 표준화 진행을 분석하여 우리나라의 VDSL의 연구방향을 제시하고자 하는 것이다. 이를 위하여 제 외국의 표준화 단체를 중심으로 진행되고 있는 가입자 접속표준 및 기술규격 등을 검토 분석하고 그 변조 및 코딩체계의 개념으로 나타나는 수치자료에 대한 근거를 조사하여 궁극적으로 국내 기술 개발 방안을 마련하려는 것이다. 따라서 본 고의 초점은 현재 제안되고 있는 VDSL 시스템의 전체적인 윤곽과 구조에 관련된 기술, 표준화와 관련된 Unbundling 기술을 설명하고, ITU-T Group-15, ANSI T1E1.4, ETSI TM-6 등 표준화 단체에서 제안한 VDSL 변조 및 코딩기술을 제시하고자 한다.

보청기가 자계 픽업코일을 구비하고 있고, 전화 수화기에서 충분한 자계를 발생할 경우 전화 수화기와 보청기의 자기결합을 이용한 전화기를 보청기 호환성 전화기라고 한다. 본 고에서는 보청기와 전화 수화기의 결합방법과 자기결합에 관한 국제 기준을 고찰하여, 국내의 보청기 호환성 전화기의 자계세기의 기준 및 측정법에 관한 검토사항을 제시한다.

All matter above absolute zero emits thermal energy. Thermal imaging system converts the infrared radiation of a scene into a live picture of that scene : the thermal image is a pictorial representation of temperature differences. This paper has outlined the principles of thermal imaging and has briefly reviewed the history, and the present day and future technology.

Economic background is discussed with consequences for tractor industry and tractor concepts. Particular reference is given to the question of frame chassis instead of block concept. Development trends of tractor components are analyzed for driving system (including four-wheel drive and brakes), diesel engines, transmissions, human engineering , hydraulics and implement control. Consideration is given to electronics and aspects of environmental protection as well. Expected further tractor design developments are summarized at the end of the paper.

The Otto Cycle of conventional gasoline engine has no difference between compression ratio and expension ratio. because of the same length of 4 strokes : Intake, compression, expension, exhaust. On the other hand, miller cycle engine achieves both low-compression ratio and high-compression ratio by shortening the length of compression stroke among 4 strokes. Therefore miller cycle engine is essential for lessening knocking and improving heat efficiency. This paper Is designed to discribe not only principle and the development trend of miller cycle engine but also the control system and the technical characteristics of it.

The key development issues in the flexible displays are TFT backplane technology for their various applications, which requires competitive device performance as well as its low temperature process. In this paper, with shortly reviewing recent flexible display development status, we describe technical trends of low-temperature a-Si TFTs. Our TFTs show good device characteristics enough to apply LCD and electrophoretic display.

유비쿼터스 시대가 다가옴에 따라 핵심 기술 중 하나인 유비쿼터스 센서 네트워크(USN)에 대한 관심이 높아지고 있다. 센서 노드를 이용한 다양한 정보를 수집 처리할수 있는 USN 기술은 물류/유통, 환경 감시, 홈 오토메이션 등 다양한 분야에 적용될 수있기 때문에 갈수록 그 중요성은 높아질 것으로 예상된다. 이에 현재 USN의 시장 동향을 간단히 살펴보고, 센서 노드의 핵심이 되는 센서 노드 플랫폼과 센서 노드에 들어가는 센서 네트워크 운영체제의 기술 동향에 대해 살펴보고자 한다.
