꽃게 껍질에서 분리제조한 키틴산 필름의 물성에 관한 연구 (Physical Properties of Chitosan Film made from Crab Shell)

  • 꽃게(portunus trituberculatus)의 껍질로부터 chitin을 분리한 후 탈아세틸화하여 만든 chitosan 용액의 물성 및 film 형성 특성을 조사하였고 chitosan film의 기능성을 cellophane, PVC 및 PE film과 비교 실험하였다. 분리한 chitin의 화학적 조성은 질소 6.95%, 조회분 0.3% 및 수분 4.57%이었으며 수율은 건조 꽃게 폐기물의 12.8%이었다. IR spectroscopy에 의한 chitosan의 탈아세틸화도는 $79{\sim}92%$였고 colloide 적정법에서는 $70{\sim}86%$측정되었다. 1% 초산용액에 용해시킨 0.4%와 0.8% chitosan 용액은 뚜렷한 의사가소성 유통 거동을 나타냈으며 유동거동지수와 점조도지수는 0.4% chitosan 용액에서 0.8886과 0.2084 $MPa{\cdot}s^n$이었고 0.8% chitosan 용액에서는 0.8498과 0.6190 $MPa{\cdot}s^n$을 나타냈다. Film의 물성측정에서 chitosan film은 인장강도$(888\;kg/cm^2)$와 투습도 $(110\;g/m^2{\cdot}24\;hr)$에서 높게 나타났으며 낮은 신장율을 보였다. 인열강도와 광선투과율은 PVC 및 PE film과 유사하였고 haziness에서 가장 높게 나타났다. Chitosan film의 두께가 0.025에서 0.050 mm로 증가함에 따라 인장강도는 급격히 감소하였고 신장율과 인열강도 및 투습도는 완만히 감소했으며 반면에 광선투과율은 거의 변하지 않았으며 hazines는 증가하는 경향을 나타냈다.

초음파처리에 의한 KOCC의 개질 (Modification of KOCC with Ultrasonic Wave Treatment)

  • Ultrasonic treatment of KOCC was tried to explore the possibility for improvement of KOCC quality as a raw material for making industrial packaging paper and paperboard. The effect of pH, stock consistencies and treatment times on the ultrasonic response of KOCC were investigated. WRV, apparent density, tensile index and burst index were improved as pH of KOCC slurry is increased. However highest tear index and stiffness were obtained at pH 8. It was also found that the highest WRV and strength properties could be obtained at 0.5% of KOCC consistency during ultrasonic treatment. WRV and most strength properties were improved with ultrasonic treatment time. It was found that ultrasonic treatment can be used as a useful mean for KOCC modificaton.

수의용 소재로 활용을 위한 줌치한지의 물성에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Properties of Jumchi Hanji for Application as Shroud Materials)

  • In this study, various types of Jumchi Hanji were made to develop shroud materials as a new use for Hanji. The properties of Hanji (basis weight, thickness, apparent density, bulk, tensile strength, wet tensile strength, elongation ratio, tear strength, bursting strength, and folding endurance) are measured. In all cases, Jumchi Hanji had a higher thickness, lower apparent density and higher bulk than Hanji because pores in the intervals of mulberry fiber are composed of bulk. So, it is considered to carry a value as a textile material. As for the results of the strength analysis of Jumchi Hanji, Jumchi technique enhances 25% of elongation ratio, which is regarded the most important role in textiles and 35% of bulk. Moreover, it was shown that it enhanced overall strength. In conclusion, it implies the possibility of applying it as a shroud material. Jumchi Hanji is thought to have enough potential to be developed as a material to carry the characteristics of Hanji in the textile market.

지오컴포지트의 공정인자와 물성의 최적화 분석 (Optimization Analysis between Processing Parameters and Physical Properties of Geocomposites)

  • 열융착법을 이용하여 보강과 배수기능을 가진 니들펀치 및 스펀본딩 부직포의 지오컴포지트를 제조하였다. 이 다층 부직포의 물성(인장, 인열 및 파영강도, 투수도 등)은 열융착법을 사용하여 제조될 경우 온도, 압력, 접착시간 등의 공정인자에 좌우된다. 따라서, 열융착법으로 제조된 지오컴포지트의 공정인자와 물성의 최적화는 매우 중요하다. 본 연구에서는 인공신경망(ANN)을 사용하여 지오컴포지트의 제조공정 최적화를 위한 알고리즘이 개발되었다. 지오컴포지트의 공정인자를 변화시켜 부직포 성능변화를 예측하기 위한 신경망 모사가 적용되었으며, 분석결과에 대한 제조방법의 효과를 조사하였다.

실리콘 고무인상재의 물성에 미치는 충전제의 영향 (Effect of Filler on the Physical Properties of Silicone Rubber Impression Material)

  • 침전실리카와 친수성 및 소수성 흄실리카를 사용하여 첨가량에 따른 실리콘 고무인상재의 젖음성과 기계적 물성 향상 연구를 수행하였다. 고무인상재의 경화시간에는 흄실리카 종류보다는 입자크기가 영향을 미쳤으며, 입자크기가 가장 작은 A300을 사용할 경우 약 9분 정도의 경화시간 지연을 초래하였다. 소수성 흄실리카인 R972를 대체 사용할 경우 고무인상재의 젖음성 특성이 가장 우수하였다. 침전실리카와 A300 흄실리카를 85:15로 혼합하여 사용할 경우 인열강도가 약 1.5N/mm 정도 증가하지만 경화시간의 과도한 지연과 더불어 점도가 상승하기 때문에, 흐름성 및 기계적물성 측면에서 침전실리카와 흄실리가(A300)를 90:10으로 혼합하여 사용하는 것이 최적이었다.

PP 가공용 실리콘 유연제의 제조와 물성연구 (Preparation and Physical Properties of Silicone Softner for PP Finish)

  • A silicone softner (SS-5), a permanent press (PP) finish, was prepared by blending silicone oil KF-96 (as a lubricating component) and beef tallow hardened oil (as a softening component) which was synthesized from fatty polyamide salts. The prepared SS-5 and the PP finishing resin were applied to PP finishing cotton cloth and P/C gingham sample by one-bath method. The properties such as crease recovery, tear strength, and bending resistance were tested. The samples treated with SS-5 and PP finishing resin showed improved properties when comparing with the untreated ones, with the ones treated only with PP finishing resin, with ones treated with commercial PP finishing softners and PP finishing resin. The grades of fabric samples treated with 3% SS-5 were fifth grade in the bending resistance test.

인산/구연산 복합 산촉매 및 이산화티타늄을 적용한 면섬유의 난연 특성 (Flame Retardant Properties of Cotton Fiber with Phosphoric/citric Acid Catalysts and TiO2)

  • In this study, the effect on flame retardancy and various physical properties when TiO2 was added with a citric acid/phosphate complex acid catalyst together with Pyrovatex CP new (N-methylol dimethylphosphonopropionamide), a phosphorus-based flame retardant, was studied on cotton fibers. SEM-EDS analysis was performed to confirm the surface characteristics and surface element analysis of the flame-retardant treated cotton fibers, and a vertical carbonization test was performed to confirm the char formation capability and flame retardancy according to the phosphoric acid ratio. By comparing the LOI index before and after washing 10 times, the washing durability of the flame retardant solution containing the phosphoric acid catalyst and TiO2 was tested by LOI index after ten washing cycles. In addition, the influence of the flame-retardant processing on the physical properties were compared including thermogravimetric analysis (TGA), tear strength and whiteness.

피혁 폐기물을 재활용한 재생가죽의 내노화특성 연구 (A Study on Anti-Aging Properties of Recycled Leather Using Shaving Scrap by Applying Antioxidant)

  • In this study, we investigated the durability properties of the recycled leather using shaving scrap with antioxidant. Recycled leather sheets were manufactured by mixing shaving scrap and NB latex as a binder. HALS(Hindered Amine Light Stabilizer) and UVA(UV absorbers) were used as antioxidant. Mechanical properties such as hardness, tensile strength, elongation, tear strength and abrasion resistance were measured. Light aging resistance was evaluated using UV lamp and the degree of discoloration of the recycled leather sheets using a gray scale. In addition, to evaluate heat aging and UV aging, the degree of discoloration of the recycled leather sheets over time was measured using colorimeter. Washing fastness was evaluated on the degree of dyeing of recycled leather sheets for six type of multi-fiber woven fabrics (Acetate, Cotton, Nylon-66, Polyester, Acryl, Wool). To determine whether hazardous substances were detected in recycled leather sheets, the contents of arylamine and Cr 6+ were evaluated. As a result, when used in combination with antioxidant, the heat aging and light aging of recycled leather were improved and hazardous substance were not detected.

Bio-Soda Pulping of Rice Straw with Pleurotus cornucopiae under Atmospheric Pressure

  • This study was carried out to develop the bio-chemical pulping method to enhance the energy saving and decrease the capital cost through the soda pulping under atmospheric pressure ($100^{\circ}C$). Nonwood substrates, rice straw, were pretreated by white-rot fungi, Pleurotus cornucopiae. Several basic pieces of data that can be applied in soda pulping were acquired. The results of this study were as follows. Under the conditions without any nutrients or with glucose, N and glucose + N, the weight losses of rice straws inoculated by Pleurotus cornucopiae were 12.1∼32.6 %, 12.0∼26.3 %, 13.0∼25.4 % and 15.3∼24.7 % for 5, 10, 15, 20, 25 and 30 days incubation periods respectively. The more the fungal incubation was extended, the more the weight losses were gained. The yield of untreated rice straw was 54.8 % after pulping. When any nutrients was not added or glucose, N and glucose + N were added for the pretreatment, the total yields were ranged to 57.3∼42.9 %, 51.0∼43.3 %, 51.7∼43.9 % and 52.1∼46.1 % for 5 different incubation periods respectively. The yields were gradually decreased based on the extending of the incubation periods. The physical properties of the rice straw soda pulp without fungal treatment, the density, breaking length, burst index, tear index and folding endurance were 0.24g/㎤, 2.32 Km, 0.91 kPaㆍ$m^2$/g, 46.7 mNㆍ$m^2$/g and 21 times, respectively. In the case of pretreatment without any nutrients or with glucose, N and glucose + N as nutrients, the density was 0.24g/㎤, the breaking length was 3.30∼6.46 Km, the burst index was 1.36∼3.01 kPaㆍ$m^2$/g, the tear index was 33.0∼57.0 mNㆍ$m^2$/g and the folding endurance was 14∼381 times at most incubating periods, when pulping was done. The physical properties were increased as the incubation duration was extended. Especially, when N and glucose + N were added, the physical properties showed superior results during each incubation period.

골판지 고지의 물리화학적 처리에 의한 강도 향상(제 1 보) (Strength Property Improvement of OCC-based Paper by Chemical and Mechanical Treatments(I))

  • To improve the physical properties of OCC (Old Corrugated Container) fibers, we used the mechanical pre-treatment on the fibers before refining . The mechanical action in the Hobart mixer induced high shear and compression on the fibers, which resulted in changes of fiber internal structure, and microcompressions on the surface of the fibers. We evaluated the amount of mechanical treatment on the fibers by fiber curl index for convenience. Four different refining techniques were applied to the pre-treated fibers (valley beater, Kady mill, PFI mill, and Impact refining) to find the best combination of the pre-treatment and the refining methods. Conclusions were summarized as followed. 1. Mechanical pre-treatment in Hobart mixer for more than 1 hour caused the increase of curl index of OCC fibers, and increased breaking length, burst index, and tear index the handsheets more than 10 % in this experiment. 2. Kady mill and PFI mill refining were effective in keeping fiber length from shortening Kady mill and Valley beater refining straightened out the fiber curls, and reduced the curl index. 3. Valley beating reduced fiber length very fast and generated fines more than other refining methods. 4. To increase breaking length and burst strength while keeping tear strength , combination of mechanical pre-treatment and Valley beating were most effective.
