The purpose of this study was to investigate the mediating and moderating effects of teacher-child relationships on children's social behavior and peer preference. The participants were 508 children and 28 head teachers of their classes. Teachers measured the children's social behavior and the teacher-child relationships. Peer preference was measured by peer nomination. The association between prosocial behavior and peer preference was partially mediated by teacher-child conflict. The association between withdrawal, aggression and peer preference was fully mediated by teacher-child conflict. The moderating effects of teacher-child conflict were found between prosocial behavior and peer preference. In addition, teacher-child conflict moderated the association between physical aggression and peer preference.
This study investigated the mediating and moderating effects of teacher preference on the relationship between behavior problems and peer victimization. The subjects were 520 children in the fifth and sixth grades. Children completed peer nominations that assessed peer victimization. Teachers rated children's internalizing, externalizing problems and teacher preference. The full mediating effect of teacher preference was found in externalizing problems and the partial mediating effect was found in internalizing problems. Moreover, the moderating effect of teacher preference was found only in internalizing problems, which suggests that high teacher preference protects internalizing problems from peer victimization.
The purpose of this study was to investigate the preference for female teacher's appearance of the high school boys and girls. A survey was conducted on 400 high school sophomores, juniors and seniors in Chungcheong province, who included both boys and girls. And the answer sheets from 396 students were selected for analysis. For data handling, SPSS 12.0 program was employed to make a frequency analysis of every item, and descriptive statistics was utilized for every item as well. In addition, t-test and crosstabs were implemented to look for any possible gaps between the boys and girls. The results were as follows: Boys had a much more interest in the appearance of female teacher's face than girls. High school Students preferred to nature style in hair and make-up. Boys relatively more liked the teachers who were young, elegant and had feminine attraction than girls. Boys preferred to feminine and traditional than girls. The purpose of this study was to provide research results on how teacher background variables and teacher efficacy affect the teacher's instructional behavior of elementary school teachers in student participatory classes. A survey was conducted on 122 elementary school teachers in the G area and a regression analysis was conducted to analyze the relationship of influence between variables. As a result of the regression analysis, self-regulation efficiency and task difficulty preference had a significant impact on elementary teachers' instructional behavior. As for teaching knowledge, class motivation, which are sub-variable factors in class behavior, self-regulating efficacy had a higher influence than task difficulty preference and for class communication, task difficulty preference had a higher influence than self-regulating efficacy. Based on the results of the study, we considered ways to show desirable teaching behavior of elementary school teachers in student participatory classes.

The aim of this study is providing basic data to design successful in-service training program for teacher librarians by analyzing their preference on subjects of customized intensive programs for indicators of teacher expertise development. According to the survey, teacher librarians seem to regard training subjects such as Reading Education and Information Literacy Instruction related educational information services as core jobs and prefer developing instructional contents and materials. Under the levels of school it seems that teacher librarians in the elementary school are interested in programs for library activation, management of volunteers, analyses of users' needs and curricula, evaluations of user instruction and information literacy instruction. Older teacher librarians favor an understanding of metadata, building and supporting information system and instruction. Therefore, training subjects for teacher librarians should be formed by linking strategies between school library instruction and subject curricula. And in terms of the method of training, case studies and practical training might be better than lectures based on the theory.
This study used qualitative methods to understand kindergarten girls' perception of block play and to devise teacher strategies for encouraging block play for girls who had not participated in block play. Results showed that girls preferred art and home-dramatic play over block play. Girls' preference not to play with blocks was based on harassment by boys and confusion about how to build with blocks and the fact that pride in block structures could not be communicated to their parents at home. Consequently, a girls-only block play area was designed with appropriate accessories along with presentation of some Polaroid pictures. Results were that girls enjoyed block play and made ingenious block structures.
Teacher written feedback on student compositions has received tremendous attention in second language (L2) writing research. Notwithstanding the importance of understanding both teachers' and students' perspectives on the feedback process, much of the feedback research has only looked into one-side of the story - adopting either the teacher's or the student's perspective. The current study is an attempt to look into both sides of the story by examining the types of written feedback that students prefer, the extent to which students' preferences and teachers' actual feedback practice overlap, and the extent to which student perceptions of teacher feedback coordinate teacher self-reflections on their feedback practice. Three English composition classes (3 teachers and 46 students) at a university participated in this study. It analyzed student and teacher data from questionnaires and teacher written feedback on student compositions. The results showed that students' preference for feedback on global and local issues varied across the three composition classes. This is partly a consequence of how students perceived the type of feedback that their teachers practiced. Teacher self-reflection on and student perception of teacher written-feedback generally coordinated. These findings are discussed in light of how contextual factors affect learner perception of teacher written feedback and underscore the need for examining students' reactions to feedback and teacher self-reflection.
We sampled 167 2nd, 4th, and 6th grade students to assess who, why, and in what situations they asked for help when they had problems in math class. Results indicated that students generally perferred(??) classmates to the teacher as helpers but they saw the teacher as more likely to facilitate learning. Second graders perceived a closer personal relationship with their teacher than sixth graders. At the upper grades, student were more likely to report asking for assistance if they thought that other students also needed assistance.
The purpose of this study was to analyze the elementary school teachers'perception toward the environment-related subjects in science education and to investigate their instructional methods in delivering the subjects in the classroom. The participants of this study were 300 elementary school teachers sampled from elementary schools in Kyung Nam Province. The findings of this study were as follows; First, more than half of the teachers surveyed showed that the environment-related units and contents in the science textbook were insufficient to the existing issues. Second, the large portion of teachers responded that the teaching materials in the textbook were insufficient to deliver the contents. Third, the largest portion of respondents replied that their preferred instructional method was a teacher-directed instruction followed by a case study approach. Fourth, in terms of the effectiveness of environmental education, both male and female teachers showed negative responses. Furthermore, male teachers were more negative than female teachers. Fifth, total means of their preference of the environment-related units was 3.13. The unit for sixth graders titled`Environmental Pollution and Protecting Nature'showed the highest preference, whereas the unit for fifth graders titled`Structure and Functions of Plants'showed the lowest preference. Sixth, there was no statistically significance in gender and their working areas. Seventh, there was statistically significant differences between male and female teachers in terms of teaching experience. In detail, the teachers with 5 to 9 teaching experience showed the lowest scores, while the teacher with more than 15 years teaching experience showed the highest scores in their perception of the units. Eighth, there was a significant difference between two groups in terms of their educational background. For example, two-year college graduates showed higher preference than four-year college graduates.

The results of this research were as follows. Firstly, the students recommended by peer showed the significantly higher creative personality, achievement motivation, problem solving patterns, and task preference than the student not recommended by peer. Secondly, as a result of comparing the students recommended by peer and students not recommended by peer for each grade, fifth and sixth grade students showed a significantly higher score in the test than other graders. Fourth grade students showed significantly higher score in every sections in the test, except for the section of creative personality. Therefore, the peer recommandation method can be applied to fifth, and sixth graders. Thirdly, the student recommended by both teacher and peer showed significantly higher problem solving patterns, and task preference scores than the student recommended only by teacher. Therefore, peer recommendation method can be an useful data for complementing teacher recommendation and it can identify gifted elementary school students.
