The aim of this study is to report monotypic species, Nonparahalosydna pleiolepis(Marenzeller, 1879) for the first time from Korean waters with its DNA barcoding data. We collected individuals of the species from the subtidal zone of southern coast of Korea through scuba diving. To estimate DNA barcoding gap, the pairwise genetic distances were calculated between N. pleiolepis and its congeners (Halosydna brevisetosa Kinberg, 1856 and Lepidonotus squamatus (Linnaeus, 1758)) based on the cytochrome c oxidase subunit I gene (COI). Inter-specific genetic distances ranged from 18.7% to 24.6%, while intra-specific genetic distance within N. pleiolepis ranged from 0.3% to 0.5%. The maximum intra-specific genetic distance among the three species was 1.4%. The morphological diagnosis of N. pleiolepis with a taxonomic note on the species were also provided.

Korean nannastacids have recorded only eight species belonging to genera Campylaspis and Cumella. In this paper, Nannastacus nyctagineus Gamȏ, 1962, is redescribed and illustrated as a new species of Korean fauna in this study for the first time. Korean female specimens of Nannastacus nyctagineus correspond well with the original description by Gamȏ, 1962 based on only female specimens. Gamȏ has described that new species, Nannastacus pruinosus could be distinguished from N. nyctagineus based on only male specimens. The Korean male specimens of N. nyctagineus undoubtedly match well with the description of N. pruinosus with the following common features: the surface of the carapace is covered with numerous granules; pereonites and pleonites have similar patterns of the teeth on dorsal surface; the proportion and armature of the dactylus of pereopod 2 is similar; the number and pattern arrangement of the setae on the surface in antenna 1, pereopod 1, and uropod are the all most same. Nannastacus pruinosus Gamȏ, 1962 is proposed as a synonym of N. nyctagineus described in this study. This represents the first record on the genus Nannastacus from Korea.

Wasabia koreana (고추냉이)를 둘러싼 분포역, 국명, 학명에 대한 문제를 종합적으로 고찰하였다. 이를 위해 기준표본을 근거로 형태적 재검토를 수행하였고, 분류학적으로 연관성이 있다고 보고된 분류군인 Cardamine yezoensis 및 W. japonica와 주요 형질을 비교하였다. 그 결과 W. koreana가 울릉도에 분포한다는 대부분의 보고는 W. japonica를 W. koreana로 오인한 결과이며, 따라서 울릉도의 이른바 '고추냉이'는 겨자냉이로 불러야 한다는 주장이 타당함을 재확인하였다. 한편, 그동안 속의 지위에 변동이 있었던 고추냉이에 대해 최근에 제안된 신대리명인 Cardamine pseudowasabi에 대해서도 논의하였다.
