A Comparative Study of Peer-driven and Task-driven on Reading Training

  • One difficulty in language learning is the training of reading ability. The improvement on this ability directly affects the process and effect of language learning. At the same time, there are numerous difficulties in actual learning and teaching. Depending on current research, there is two ideas that can utilize to enhance the reading efficiency of learners. One is to amend objective factors; the other is to change subjective factors. Compared with the two ideas, idiosyncratic factors are more manipulable and controllable, so it is more valuable to conduct researches on this. But among the many subjective factors, the degree of their effectiveness is not the same, so this article attempts to compare and analyze the driving effects of two important subjective factors (peer-driven and task-driven) on reading performance. The results show that both factors can have a positive impact on reading comprehension, but different in driving effects. The task-driven has obvious short-term effectiveness; while peer-driven needs to establish its long-term effect on the basis of early coordination and cooperation among team members. Therefore, in order to maximize the achievement of learning, it is necessary to combine strengths and avoid weaknesses according to the characteristics of two factors, so as to help learners improve reading ability most efficiently.

  • Hydraulically driven manipulators are superior to electrically driven ones in the power density and electrical insulation. But an electro-hydraulic manipulator using hydraulic actuators has many nonlinear elements, and its parameter fluctuations are greater than those of electrically driven manipulator. So it is relatively difficult to realize not only stable contact work but also accurate force control for the autonomous field tasks such as the maintenance task of high voltage active electric line or the automatic excavation task by hydraulic excavator. In this report, we propose robust force control algorithm, which can be applied to there real field task such as the construction field, nuclear plant and so on. Proposed force controller has the same structure as that of disturbance observe for position control. The difference between force and position disturbance observer is that the input and output of disturbance observer are forces in the case force disturbance observer and the plant varies much compared to the case of position control. In the design of force disturbance observer, generalized plant is derived and the stabilized filter is designed by H infinity control theory to ensure the robuts t stability even though the stiffness of environment changes from sponge to steel, and the contact surface also changes from flat to round shape. Experimental results show that highly robust force tracking by a 6-link electro-hydraulic manipulator could be achieved under various environment conditions.

  • This paper is aimed at investigating the influence of the fit between PDA (Personal Digital Assistant) driven mobile technology and tasks on performance. Our research motive was adopted from the burgeoning mobile technology which can be easily observed in modem management. Fit theory has been widely applied to proved the relationship between technology and tasks. However, there are few studies about the fit between mobile technology and tasks. A the advent of the IT, mobile technology started to affect individuals' lifestyle as well as the management style of firms. For the purpose of proving those hypotheses, we collected 173 questionnaires from 20 firms such as manufacturing industry, financial business, service company, telecommunication company which deem using the PDA technology for their management. We applied factor analysis and path analysis for our experiments Results revealed that the mobile technology holds a statistically significant fit with tasks and Individual characteristics.

  • Visual occlusion method is a visual demand measuring technique which uses periodic vision/occlusion cycle to simulate driving environment. It became one of the most popular techniques for the evaluation of in-vehicle interfaces due to its robustness and cost-effectiveness. However, it has a limitation in that the vision/occlusion cycle forces the user to use the IVIS at a predetermined pace, while a driver decides when to use the device on his/her own in actual driving. This paper proposes a user-driven visual occlusion method for measuring the visual demand of in-vehicle interfaces. An experiment was conducted to examine the visual demand of an in-vehicle interface prototype using both the existing (system-driven) occlusion method and the proposed (user-driven) one. Two in-vehicle tasks were evaluated: address input and radio tuning. The results showed that, for the radio tuning task, there were significant differences in total shutter open time and resumability ratio between the methods. The user-driven visual occlusion method not only allows a better representation of drivers' behavior, but it also seems to provide more information on the chunkability of a task.

  • The methods that are used for receiving data from attached devices under real-time preemptive multi-task operating system (OS) by general processors can be categorized as polling and interrupt driven. The technical approach to these methods may be different due to the application specific scheduling policy of the OS and the programming architecture of the flight software. It is one of the most important requirements on the development of the flight software to process the data received from satellite subsystems or components with the exact timeliness and accuracy. This paper presents the analysis of the I/O method of device related scheduling mechanism and the reliable data I/O methods between processor and devices.

  • In this paper, we proposed battery driven low power algorithm in mobile device. Algorithm the mobile devices in power of the battery for the task to perform power consumption to reduce the frequency alters. Power of the battery perform to a task power consumption of is less than the task perform to frequency the lower. Frequency control the task, depending on in the entire system devices used among the highest frequency with devices first target perform to. Frequency in the decrease the second largest frequency with of the device the frequency in changes the power consumption to calculate. The calculated consumption power the battery of level is greater than level the frequency by adjusting power consumption, lower power of the battery the task perform when you can to the frequency to adjust. Experiment the frequency by adjusting power consumption a method to reduce using [6] and in the same environment power of the battery consider the task to perform frequency were controlled. The results in [6] perform does not battery power on task operates that the result was.

  • Recently in the IoT(Internet of Things) environment, a data collection in real-time through device's sensor has increased with an emergence of various devices. Collected data from IoT environment shows a large scale, non-uniform generation cycle and atypical. For this reason, the distributed processing technique is required to analyze the IoT sensor data. However if you do not consider the optimal scheduling for data and the processor of IoT in a distributed processing environment complexity increase the amount in assigning a task, the user is difficult to guarantee the QoS(Quality of Service) for the sensor data. In this paper, we propose APQTA(Adaptive Priority Queue-driven Task Allocation method for sensor data processing) to efficiently process the sensor data generated by the IoT environment. APQTA is to separate the data into job and by applying the priority allocation scheduling based on the deadline to ensure that guarantee the QoS at the same time increasing the efficiency of the data processing.

A Basic Study on the Development of a Grading Scale of Discourse Competence in Korean Speaking Assessment -Focusing on the Scale of 'REFUSAL' Task (한국어 말하기 평가에서 '담화 능력' 등급 기술을 위한 기초 연구 -'부탁'에 대한 '거절하기' 과제를 중심으로-)

  • Most grading scales of Korean language proficiency tests are based on existing grading scales that are not empirically verified. The purpose of this study is to develop an empirically verified scale descriptor. The 'Performance data-driven approach' that is suggested by Fulcher (1987) was used to develop the detailed description of characteristics for each level of performance. This study is focused on the functional phase of speech samples analysis (coding data) to create explanatory categories of discourse skills into which individual observations of speech phenomena can be scored. The speech samples that were collected through this study demonstrated stages of speech that can be a foundation of a grading scale. The data used in the study was collected from 23 native speakers of Korean. Speech samples were recorded from simulated speaking tests using the 'REFUSAL' task, and transcribed for analysis. The transcript was analyzed using discourse analysis. The result showed that the 'REFUSAL' task needs to go through four functional phases in actual communication. Furthermore, this study found specific and detailed explanatory categories of discourse competence based on the actual native speaker's speech data. Such findings are expected to contribute to the development of more valid and reliable speaking assessment.

  • Growth in the device field is driven by various emerging devices, tablet PC are among the most recognizable. Tablet PC are mobile computing devices enabled with touch screens or pen inputs and provide the functions of various other devices. Firms are interested in utilization of tablet PC on task. Many of firms is considering accepting of tablet PC and is looking forward to performance of tablet PC. Thus, this study propose to discuss strategies for the usage of tablet PC from organizational needs perspective. The goal of this study is to identify factors influencing use of tablet PC and task performance. The results of this study showed that the proposed factors of organizational needs with a exception of Service Flexibility had a positive impact on perceived usefulness that then positively affected Usage of Tablet PC and Task Performance. In addition, perceived task-technology fit had a positive impact on perceived usefulness and Usage of Tablet PC. Finally, Innovative Culture of Organization as a moderating effect significantly influenced the relationship between perceived usefulness, perceived Task-Technology Fit and Usage of Tablet PC. This study is expected to be a reference for a subsequent study associated with Tablet PC at organizational viewpoints.
