  • This paper presents sliding mode control(SMC) method using target variation rate of Lypunov Function. SMC keeps the response of structure in sliding surface where structure is stable. It can design both linear controller and bang-bang controller. Linear control of previous research, however, can not make most of the performance of controller, because it is designed to satisfy the condition that the variation rate of Lyapunov function is minus. Also, incase of bang-bang controller, unnecessary large control force is generated. Presented method can utilize the capacity of controller efficiently by prescribing the target variation rate of Lyapunov function. Numerical simulation results indicate that the presented control methods can reduce the peak response larger than linear control, and it has control performance equivalent to bang-bang control.

  • The objective of this study was to assess spatial variation of the target water quality criteria and excess rate in Nakdong river basin after the Total Maximum Daily Loads (TMDLs). For this, 41 total water quality monitoring stations were selected BOD and T-P data were collected from 2003 to 2019. The annual average water quality of BOD and T-P were calculated and compared with the target water quality for each stations by peroid. As a result of analyzing the BOD, Kumho A, Nakbon F, Namgang D, Miryang B, Wicheon B and Hoecheon A exceeded the target water quality criteria for two consecutive times. For T-P, Nakbon N, Naeseung B, Miryang A, Hwanggang A and Hoecheon A exceeded the target water quality criteria twice in a row. In the case of T-P, the target water quality excess rate was relatively low after the TMDLs implementation compared to before the TMDLs implementation. However, in the case of BOD, there was no difference in the target water quality excess rate before and after TMDLs. As a result, the overall annual average water quality shows a decreasing trend, but it is necessary to manage the water quality for the Nakdong river basin that exceed the target water quality.

  • In this paper, the Autocoast algorithm is proposed for EOTS to overcome the target occlusion status. Coast mode, one of tracking modes, is to maintain the servo slew rate with the tracking rate right before the loss of track. The Autocoast algorithm makes decision of entering coast mode by the prediction of target occlusion and tries to refind target after the coast time. This algorithm composes of 3 steps, the first step is the prediction process of the occlusion by target-like background, the second one is the check process of the occlusion happened after background intensity variation, and the last one is the process of refinding target. The result of computer simulation, test under laboratory, and real test with EOTS shows the applicability for the automatic video tracking system.

  • Nitrogen management at the panicle initiation stage(PI) should be fine-tuned for securing a concurrent high yield and high quality rice production. For calibration and testing of the recommendation models of N topdressing rates at PI for target grain yield and protein content of rice, three split-split-plot design experiments including five rice cultivars and various N rates were conducted at the experimental farm of Seoul National University, Korea from 2003 to 2005. Data from the first two years of experiments were used to calibrate models to predict grain yield and milled-rice protein content using shoot fresh weight(FW), chlorophyll meter value(SPAD), and the N topdressing rate(Npi) at PI by stepwise multiple regression. The calibrated models explained 85 and 87% of the variation in grain yield and protein content, respectively. The calibrated models were used to recommend Npi for the target protein content of 6.8%, with FW and SPAD measured for each plot in 2005. The recommended N rate treatment was characterized by an average protein content of 6.74%(similar to the target protein content), reduced the coefficient of variation in protein content to 2.5%(compared to 4.6% of the fixed rate treatment), and increased grain yield. In the recommended N rate treatments for the target protein content of 6.8%, grain yield was highly dependent on FW and SPAD at PI. In conclusion, the models for N topdressing rate recommendation at PI were successful under present experimental conditions. However, additional testing under more variable environmental conditions should be performed before universal application of such models.

  • In this paper, we show that a variation in sampling rate give rise to system performance degradation and propose a method to effectively reduce the error. We first capture the variation as a first order autoregressive (AR) model and project it as an additional sensor measurement noise. By considering that the sensor measurements include correlated noise, we perform a decorrelation process and then apply a standard Kalman filter (SKF) to estimate the target-state. As a result of the two-step procedure, we achieve a significant reduction in the target state estimation error.

  • High quality cathode with high deposition rate of thin films and long target life time is required for manufacturing TFT-LCD and semiconductor. We developed WV(wide view) sputtering cathode with wide erosion area and high deposition rate. Ti thin film thickness variation in WV cathode is below 5% for 380 kWh target life time. Al thin film thickness using normal cathode is decreased about 20%. By using WV cathode, target using efficiency was improved 40%. in comparison with normal cathode.

  • This paper investigated the effect of the film deposition rate for $CrN_x$ microstructure and mechanical properties. For these purpose, pure Cr an stoichiometric CrN films were deposited with various target power density on Si hardened M2 tool steel. The variation of ni trogen concentration in $CrN_x$ f analyzed by AES and deposition rate was calculated by measuring of thickness using ${\alpha}-step$ profilometer. The microstructure was analyzed by X-Ray Diffract and Scanning Electron Microscopy(SEM), and mechanical properties were evalua residual stress, microhardness and adhesion tests. Deposition rate of Cr and CrN increased as an almost linear function of target power density from $0.25\mu\textrm{m}/min$ and $0.15\mu\textrm{m}/min$ to $0.43\mu\textrm{m}/min$. Residual stresses of Cr and CrN films were from tensi Ie to compressive stress with an increase of deposi tion rate a compressive stresses were increased as more augmentation of deposition r maximum hardness value of $2300kg/\textrm{mm}^2$ and the best adhesion strength correspond HF 1 were obtained for CrN film synthesized at the highest target densitY($13.2W/\textrm{mm}^2$) owing to high residual compressive stress and increasing mobility.

  • In this study, the variation of water quality was analyzed for six sites in major tributaries of the Nakdong River Basin. Standard-FDC (Flow Duration Curve) was developed using PM (Percentile Method), one of the statistical FDC estimation methods. The LDC (Load Duration Curve) was obtained using the developed FDC. The current method and the LDC evaluation method were compared and analyzed to evaluate the achievement of TWQ (Target Water Quality). Regarding the monthly flow rate variation, the five sites showed the distribution of the lowest flow rate between May and June, indicating a high probability of dry weathering of the streams. The variation of water quality confirmed the vulnerable timing of flow rate in each site, and it is therefore deemed necessary to plan to reduce T-P and TOC. A comparison and evaluation of TWQ showed that there was a difference between the TWQ values achieved by the two techniques. In addition, the margin ratio to the 50% excess ratio can be found in the LDC evaluation. The results of the LDC evaluation by section and by month showed whether or not the water quality was exceeded by flow conditions, along with the vulnerable sections and timing. Accordingly, it is judged that this method can be used for water quality management in TMDLs (Total Maximum Daily Loads).

  • Random Early Detection (RED), one of the most well-known Active Queue Management (AQM), has been designed to substitute Tail Drop and is nowadays widely implemented in commercially available routers. RED algorithm provides high throughput and low delay as well as a solution of global synchronization. However RED is sensitive to parameters setting, so the performance of RED, significantly depends on the fixed parameters. To solve this problem, the Adaptive RED (ARED) algorithm is suggested by S. Floyd. But, ARED also uses fixed parameters like target-queue length; it is hard to respond to bursty traffic actively. In this paper, we proposed AQM algorithm based on the variation of current queue length in order to improve adaptability about burst traffic. We measured performance of proposed algorithm through a throughput, marking-drop rate and bias phenomenon. In experimentation, we raised a packet throughput as reduced packet drop rate, and we confirmed to reduce a bias phenomenon about bursty traffic.
