  • Since the concept of "innovation resistance" was introduced as a summary construct for customers not adopting a superior innovation, a lot of researchers have examined to identify the relationship between the innovation resistance and the various innovation and situation variables. This paper addresses the innovation resistance coming from the introduction of a new R&D grant management system(RGMS) in a university. The new RGMS is based on research grant management policies newly accredited by the government, where the central management of the research grants is indispensable. We have surveyed professors and researchers about the introduction of a new RGMS, and empirically analyzed the perceived innovation characteristics and the user characteristics affecting the innovation resistance. The result shows that perceived risk is the most important factor influencing on the innovation resistance.

  • As the advent of the Fourth Industrial Revolution and Information Age, companies are in the state of infinite competition due to the rapidly changing technological environment and fierce competition. In this situation companies are making efforts to gain the competitive advantage by introducing information systems. Supply Chain Management (SCM) is considered a method to gain a competitive edge in rapid change. In fact, companies that already have introduced the SCM system are achieving company renovation with positive effects such as increase of sales stock reduction on-time delivery cost reduction and improved efficiency. This study was started to investigate the resistance that occurs in introducing the SCM system for small and medium-sized manufacturing industries that have not yet introduced the SCM system despite the importance of the SCM system, and to check the effect on the intention of the introduction. As the result of this study, the first is that the company has the higher technological innovation, the more positive the effect on Relative advantage Compatibility Perceived risk, Complexity. Second, The compatibility of the SCM system was rejected in innovation resistance, but it is adopted with the highest impact in the introduction intention. In addition, the mediating effect of innovation resistance was also rejected, confirming that if the SCM system is compatible for the company, it doesn't affect the resistance and is the biggest factor to consider in the introduction of the SCM system. Third, the perceived risk of the SCM system doesn't directly affect the intention to introduce, but has an indirect effect when mediation innovation resistance.

  • Fire resistance ceiling system is the structure of which the ceiling installed under the slave of the structure has the fire resistance performance. Because of having the fire resistance performance, fire resistive coatings on steel beams can be reduced and large span structures can be constructed. So, it have advantages of convenience for construction, shorten for construction time and cost reducing. In foreign country, it is general that one system consisting of slave and ceiling is constructed as a fire resistance system. But in Korea, there are no fire resistance ceiling systems thus economical efficiency due to being high-rise and light-weight of structures is not secured. Therefore research and development of nominal fire resistance ceiling systems is necessary. On this study, fire resistances of standard non-loadbearing ceiling systems were assessed and basic informations for developing the fire resistance non-loadbearing ceiling systems were presented.

  • Steel-concrete composite slabs with profiled steel sheeting are widely used in the execution of floors in steel and composite buildings. The rapid construction process, the elimination of conventional replaceable shuttering and the reduction of temporary support are, in general, considered the main advantages of this structural system. In slabs with the spans currently used, the longitudinal shear resistance commonly provided by the embossments along the steel sheet tends to be the governing design mode. This paper presents an innovative reinforcing system that increases the longitudinal shear capacity of composite slabs. The system is constituted by a set of transversal reinforcing bars crossing longitudinal stiffeners executed along the upper flanges of the steel sheet profiles. This type of reinforcement takes advantage of the high bending resistance of the composite slabs and increases the slab's ductility. Two experimental programmes were carried out: a small-scale test programme - to study the resistance provided by the reinforcing system in detail - and a full-scale test programme to test simply supported and continuous composite slabs - to assess the efficacy of the proposed reinforcing system on the global behaviour of the slabs. Based on the results of the small-scale tests, an equation to predict the resistance provided by the proposed reinforcing system was established. The present study concludes that the resistance and the ductility of composite slabs using the reinforcing system proposed here are significantly increased.

  • Partial discharge resistance for the epoxy systems with two diluents was investigated in the rod-plane electrodes arrangement, and the effect of electric frequency on the partial discharge resistance was also studied. Diglycidyl ether of bisphenol A (DGEBA) type epoxy was used as a base resin, and 1,4-butanediol diglycidyl ether (BDGE) or polyglycol (PG) as a reactive diluent was introduced to the DGEBA system, in order to decrease the viscosity of the DGEBA epoxy system. BDGE was acted as a chain extender, and PG acted as a flexibilizer, after the curing reaction. To measure the partial discharge resistance, 5 kV alternating current (ac) with three different frequencies (60, 500 and 1,000 Hz) was applied to the specimen in a rod-plane electrode arrangement, at $30^{\circ}C$. PG had a good effect, while BDGE had a bad effect on the partial discharge resistance of the DGEBA system, regardless of the electric frequency.

  • The fall-of-potential method is commonly used in measuring the ground resistance of large-scaled grounding system and the current and potential auxiliary electrodes are horizontally arranged. Because the distances between the ground grid to be tested and auxiliary electrodes are limited in downtown areas, it is very difficult to measure accurately the ground resistance of large-scaled grounding system. In this paper, the fall-of-potential method of measuring the ground resistance with the vertically-placed current and potential auxiliary electrodes was examined and discussed. The validity and good accuracy of the proposed method of measuring the ground resistance were confirmed through various simulations and actual tests carried out in uniform and two-layer soil structures.

  • In nature, plant diseases, insects and parasites (hereafter called as "pest") must be co-survived. The most common expression of co-survival of a host crop to the pest can be tolerance. With tolerance, chemical uses can be minimized and it protects environment and sustains host productivity and the minimum pest survival. Tolerance can be applicable in all living organisms including crop plants, lifestocks and even human beings. Tolerant system controls pest about 90 to 95% (this pest control system often be called as horizontal or partial resistance), while the use of chemicals or selection of high resistance controls pest 100% (the most expression of this control system is vertical resistance or true resistance). Controlling or eliminating the pests by either chemicals or vertical resistance create new problems in nature and destroy the co-survial balance of pest and host. Controlling pests through tolerance can only permit co-survive of pests and hosts. Tolerance is durable and environmentally-friend. Crop cultivars based on tolerance system are different from those developed by genetically modified organism (GMO) system. The former stabilizes genetic balance of a pest and a host crop in nature while the latter destabilizes the genetic balance due to 100% control. For three decades, the author has implemented the tolerance system in breeding maize cultivars against various pests in both tropical and temperate environments. Parasitic weed Striga species known as the greatest biological problem in agriculture has even been controlled through this system. The final effect of the tolerance can be an integrated genetic pest management (IGPM) without any chemical uses and it makes co-survival of pests in nature.in nature.

  • To prevent the low heating effect of heating system caused by the high sheet resistance of CVD graphene, multi-layered graphene was laminated to implement a Transparent plane heating system with good optical properties of low-resistance. Low-resistance plane heating system implemented by $300{\times}400{\times}5mm$ heating plane laminated multi-layered CVD graphene film and PWM control system to drive efficient power. A plane resistance value of $85.5{\Omega}/sq$ was measured on average for 4-layer CVD graphene film used as a heating plane. Thus, the transfer by thermal film as the method of implementing low-resistance CVD graphene is reasonable. The experimental results of heat test show that an average heat-rise rate in low-resistance, transperent plane heating system using CVD graphene is $10^{\circ}C/min$ and has an optical transmittance rate of 86.44%. Therefore, the proposed heating system is applicable to large window glass and vehicle heating window-shild-glass.
