Characteristics and Performance of ERP Adoption in University Organization (대학의 ERP 도입 특성과 성과에 관한 연구)

  • Characteristics of the motivation and performance of Enterprise Resources Planning (ERP) adoption in university organization are explored through case studies in this study. Generally, the modules for production, sales, and logistics management in a manufacturing company are substituted with new modules for student support, lecture operations, and research management in ERP for university organization. The motivation of ERP adoption is closely related to the purpose of improvement of business process operations and information system control rather than the environmental factors such as inter-organizational competition or increase of market uncertainty, differentially from enterprises cases. In addition, the financial performance such as cost reduction, labor substitution, and increase of productivity is relatively lower evaluated than the performance on organizational aspects or information system control.

  • Recently, the interest in technologies for a highly efficient powertrain, i.e. a variable displacement engine or a light weight car body, to improve the fuel efficiency of automobile saving the environment has been increased. However this trend deteriorates NVH performance of a vehicle and the use of a conventional engine mounting system becomes unsatisfactory. In order to solve this dilemma, an active engine mounting system that could isolate or cancel out vibrations occurred at the powertrain was suggested. In this paper, In order to optimize the electromagnetic active engine mount performance, the actuator of the engine mount through FEM analysis and optimal design, noise and elastomer testing of the prototype through the optimal design of actuators for the electromagnetic active engine mount on the impact of the performance improvement is verified.

Fast Anti-collision Algorithm for Improving Tag Identification Speed in EPC Class 1 RFID System (EPC Class 1 RFID 시스템에서 태그 인식 속도 향상을 위한 고속 태그 충돌 방지 알고리즘)

  • We analyze the tag identification procedure of conventional EPC Class 1 RFID system and propose the fast anti-collision algorithm for the performance improvement of the system. In the proposed algorithm, the reader uses information of tag collisions and reduces unnecessary procedures of the conventional algorithm. We evaluate the performance of the proposed anti-collision algorithm and the conventional algorithm using mathematical analysis and simulation. According to the results, the fast anti-collision algorithm shows greatly better performance than conventional algorithm.

  • RAID systems have been used as a mass storage system with high parallelism and availability. Especially RAID systems with parity declustering are widely studied as a technique to provide high fault tolerancy and availability by reducing performance degradation in case of disk fuilures. In this paper, a new organization of parity declustering with distributed spare units is proposed. And in normal mode where there are no failures, it is shown that these organization can improve the performance of RAID systems. By simulation methods, it is proved that the performance of RAID system in normal mode is improved by 5 to 15%.

  • The reuse partitioning system in microcellular networks are dropped performance of system because of increase hand-off of high-speed terminal. In this paper, we propose hand-off algorithm to improve the performance of reuse partitioning system using microcell according to the ratio of traffic distribution between innercell and outercell from resource management of high-speed and slowspeed terminal. Also, we compare to RPS and evaluate the teletraffic performance analysis of high-speed and slow-speed terminal through computer simulations that we derive the hand-off probability, call dropping probability.

Comparative Study to Measure the Performance of Commonly Used Machine Learning Algorithms in Diagnosis of Alzheimer's Disease

  • In machine learning, the performance of the system depends upon the nature of input data. The efficiency of the system improves when the behavior of the input data changes from un-normalized to normalized form. This paper experimentally demonstrated the performance of KNN, SVM, LDA and NB on Alzheimer's dataset. The dataset undertaken for the study consisted of 3 classes, i.e. Demented, Converted and Non-Demented. Analysis shows that LDA and NB gave an accuracy of 89.83% and 88.19% respectively in both the cases whereas the accuracy of KNN and SVM improved from 46.87% to 82.80% and 53.40% to 88.75% respectively when input data changed from un-normalized to normalized state. From the above results it was observed that KNN and SVM show significant improvement in classification accuracy on normalized data as compared to un-normalized data, whereas LDA and NB reflect no such change in their performance.

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study was to propose a sensor fusion algorithm that integrates vehicle motion sensor(VMS) into the hybrid navigation system. Methods: How to evaluate the navigation performance was comparison test with the hybrid navigation system and the sensor fusion method. Results: The results of this study are as follows. It was found that the effects of the sensor fusion method and α value estimation were significant. Applying these greatly improves the navigation performance. Conclusion: For improving the reliability of navigation system, the sensor fusion method shows that the proposed method improves the navigation performance in a combat vehicle.

  • In many electric vehicles, large-capacity pouch-type lithium-ion battery packs are mainly used to increase the mileage on a single charge. The lithium ion battery should be operated within the temperature range of 25℃ to 40℃ because the battery performance can be rapidly deteriorated due to an increase in internal temperature. Battery thermal management system (BTMS) can give the suitable temperature conditions to battery by water cooling method. In this research, the heat transfer characteristics (the battery temperature distributions and the water flow characteristics) were analyzed by CFD method to investigate the thermal performance of the cooling plate with 4-pass water flow structure. Moreover, the effect of the presence of fins between the battery cell was identified. The fins made smooth temperature distributions between the battery cells due to the heat spreading and lower the average battery cells temperature.

  • The purpose of this study is a proposal about the flexibility of the performance category to revitalize the "Housing Performance Grading Indication System". This system consists of 5 main performance parts, 14 performance categories and 20 detailed performance lists. 5 main performance parts are Noise and Acoustics(Light-weight impact sound control, heavy-weight impact sound control, sound control of toilet, sound control of party wall), Long-life(flexibility, remodeling & maintenance, durability), Landscape & Indoor Environment(landscape, formaldehyde control& ventilation, daylighting, thermal environment), Welfare & Barrier-free(playground and community center, welfare space, barrier-free design), Fire Safety(fire safety, safe place, fire-resisting quality). The flexibility of the performance category is conformed to Long-life housing related grading and can realize the Long-life housing in response to resident needs about the space rearrangement. Now, The flexibility of the performance category is limited to the evaluation of the private space, that is, the Skeleton evaluation. This study would suggest alternatives to improve uppermost limits through analyzing 60 examples from January 9th 2009 to October 30th 2008. The flexibility of the performance category is possible to estimate not only the Skeleton evaluation but also the Infill evaluation in response to social changes.

  • Purpose: This study is to search for the core factors of improving business performance of small and medium venture manufacturing company and to do an in-depth analysis of the relations with management performance through systematic approach and to provide implications of importance of the management for the improvement factors for the domestic small and medium venture manufacturing company. Methods: The data have been analyzed via the regression and path analysis using AMOS. Results: this study is absorptive capacity affects the business performance of manufacturing companies. absorptive capacity has the role of the parameters of the Quality Management System and business performance. Conclusion: This study suggests how to run absorptive capacity according to type of management performance, and how to enhance Quality Management System to efficiently promote absorptive capacity in order to grow of management performance. also, this study shows a way to enlarge the valuation standard for management and customer performance reflecting the growth potential of an enterprise in circumstance where the valuation standard focuses on financial performance.
