부하테스트를 이용한 금융 시스템의 성능개선 사례 (A Case Study for Improving Performance of A Banking System Using Load Test)

  • In this paper, we describe a case study to improve performance through the load testing of multi-tired system for financial accounts before the system opening. The load test was conducted after the data collection tools(Performance Monitor, DB PSSDiag) were installed. By analyzing the collected log, we were able to identify the main sector requiring performance improvements among the presentation tier, web tier, business logic tier and data tier. The ASP.NET server-down on the web tier could be improved by modifying the parameter values in the configuration file. Some server downs occurred on the business logic tier when a large number of users access at the same time, were more difficult to be solved. By analyzing the hang-dump at the server-down time, we were able to find a process that caused the problem. and we had to modify the relevant codes. For major performance improvements of the data-tier, indices of some queries was optimized by using the built-in DBMS query analyzer, after analyzing the log of long-response-time queries. The problems and solutions considered in this case study will be a reference for the performance improvement of a multi-layer system with the similar structure.

  • In this paper, we aim to communicate wirelessly as appling the Bluetooth technology to the VoIP system, and we select the embedded system which can be guaranteed performance and economical efficiency for implementation that system. So we implemented embedded Bluetooth AP and embedded VoIP system based on Bluetooth. For voice quality improvement in the implemented system, the Bluetooth ACL link and the appropriate Bluetooth packet was selected. Also, it was designed about the handling method of voice packet by using variable jitter buffer and then tested on embedded VoIP system based on Bluetooth.

엔진실 차폐 시스템의 냉각성능 개선을 위한 수치적 연구 (NUMERICAL STUDY FOR COOLING CAPACITY IMPROVEMENT OF ENGINE ROOM ENCLOSURE SYSTEM)

  • In engine room, proper enclosure system is preferable for reducing noise level but the enclosure system in the engine room causes bad influence on cooling performance due to poor ventilation. Cooling efficiency of the enclosure system can be improved by varying fan speed and proper flow path for ventilation. In this study, numerical analysis is performed to assess cooling effect of the enclosure system using finite volume method. The RNG k-$\varepsilon$ model is adopted for turbulence model along with heat exchanger model and porous media model for heat exchanger analysis, and moving reference frame model for rotational fan. Verification result shows reasonable agreement with experimental data. Analysis results show direct effect of velocity and temperature distribution on cooling ability in the enclosure system. Enclosure system of case B shows high heat transfer coefficient and has the smallest area ratio of opened flow passages which is good for noise level reduction.

Comparative Performance Analysis of Robot-based Automated Construction System Using a Real Scale Test Project

  • A large-scale research project to develop a robot-based automated building construction system for steel structures was successfully conducted in South Korea. This paper discusses the results of the real-scale test and the key lessons gained from the testing process. The system was assessed in terms of system productivity, construction cost, quality control, and safety improvements. While the productivity of the automated system showed an improvement of about 9.5%, the construction cost was about six times higher than that of the conventional method. The field test also indicated that the automated system requires more on-site quality control measures. However, because the system can eliminate the causes of various safety accidents, safety levels might be expected to be improved significantly. It is expected that this paper will provide knowledge and insight for developing new systems, and the results of the real-scale test might be useful for other researchers and similar research projects in the future.

  • 센서 레지스트리 시스템은 이기종 센서 네트워크에 독립적으로 센서 데이터 의미를 해석하고 처리하기 위해 제안되었다. 그러나 기존 센서 레지스트리 시스템 구조는 정적 처리 방법을 제공한다. 즉, 이용할 데이터 영역을 고려하지 않고 불필요한 연산을 수행함으로써 전체적인 처리 성능을 저하시킨다. 이 논문에서는 기존 센서 레지스트리 시스템 구조의 문제점을 해결하기 위해 센서 메타데이터 영역화와 재사용성에 기반한 성능 개선 모델을 제안한다. 제안 모델은 센서 레지스트리 시스템에서 모바일 디바이스로 전송되는 센서 메타데이터의 영역을 상황 맞게 결정할 수 있는 기능을 제공한다. 또한 센서 메타데이터의 재사용성을 지원함으로써 전체적인 성능을 향상시킨다. 마지막으로 이 논문에서는 성능 비교 평가를 통해 제안 모델의 장점을 보인다.

  • The purpose of this study is to analyze the impact of quality management system requirements, which are techniques for management innovation to secure competitiveness of small and medium-sized manufacturers, on management performance as economic uncertainties increase and non-face-to-face culture spread. To this end, a survey was conducted on small and medium-sized manufacturing companies that maintain ISO certification. As a result of the study, first, it was found that planning had a positive effect on management performance among the requirements of the quality management system. Second, it was found that improvement among the requirements of the quality management system had a positive effect on management performance. Third, in the relationship between the requirements of the quality management system and management performance, leadership was found to have a complete mediating effect on planning. This means that the CEO plays a large role in establishing strategies for companies to gain a competitive advantage and will contribute to establishing all measures.

동흡진기를 사용한 원전 배관계 내진성능 상향에 대한 연구 (A Study on Seismic Performance Improvement of Nuclear Piping System through Dynamic Absorber)

  • In this study, the dynamic absorber and the damper are applied to improve the seismic performance of the piping system, and their quantitative effects on the piping system performance are examined. For this purpose, the response performances of piping system applied with the dynamic absorber/damper are compared with those of the original piping system. Firstly, the frequency response analyses of the piping system with the presence or the absence of dynamic absorber/damper are performed and these results are compared. It has been shown that the maximum acceleration response per the frequency of the piping system is considerably reduced by installing the dynamic absorber and the damper. Secondly, the seismic responses of the piping systems with and without dynamic absorber/damper are compared. As a result of the numerical analyses, it is confirmed that key responses are reduced by 17%-63% due to the installation of the dynamic absorber and damper. Finally, as a result of the seismic performance evaluation, it is confirmed that the HCLPF (High Confidence of Low Probability of Failure) seismic performances are increased by 1.22 to 2.70 times with respect to the failure modes with an aid of the dynamic absorber and damper.

  • With the rapid increase of social network usage, there are emerging trends of adopting social information among online users in building recommendation system. This study aims to investigate whether the additional usage of social information can improve recommendation performance in recommendation system and how much the improvement can be different according to the product involvement level. As an experiment result, social information does not affect positively to the recommendation accuracy but affect significantly to the recommendation quality. Also social information contributed more sensitively to the improvement of recommendation quality in high product involvement domain.

  • In this paper, it is analyzed a performance improvement of ACL Packet using turbo code scheme in bluetooth system. In order for segment to improve the transfer capability, the transmission of messages have been simulated using a fragmentation that begins with the total package and incremental fragmentation for each layer using the TCP to define the resultant packet size and the level of fragmentation for each proceeding layer. This turbo code scheme decreases transmission time of L2CAP baseband packets by sending packets. From the results, we were able to obtain packet transmission time, optimal TCP packet size, ACL(DM packet) in AWGN.

  • Lean burn combustion is an important concept for improving the fuel consumption and exhaust emissions. However, the lean burning is associated with increased cycle-to-cycle combustion variations due to the ignition instabilities and redu- ced flame propagation rates. Engine stability under lean mixture conditions could be improved by increasing flame speed through enhanced flow characteristics and by securing ignitability with improvement of ignition systems. The effects of flow motion and ignition characteristics on the combustion performances were investigated in a 4-valve SI engine. Flow motions of tumble-swirl were varied with a swirl control valve attached at the inlet ports, while ignition energy and its distribution were controlled in a high -frequency ignition system by changing spark duration and spark frequency. The improvement of lean burn performance by the optimum flow motion and ignition characteristics is discussed.
