  • The on-board processor of satellite synthetic aperture radar(SAR) generates transmission signal by digital signal processing, converts it into an analog signal. At this time, the transmission signal generated from the baseband requires the frequency modulation to convert it to the high-frequency band in order to improve the stability. General frequency modulation method using local oscillator(LO) causes IQ imbalance due to phase error/magnitude error and these error reduce performance of SAR. To generate transmission signal without phase/magnitude error, this paper suggests design method of the frequency modulation method using digital to analog converter(DAC) at on-board SAR. For design, this paper analyzes the characteristic of DAC mode and uses pre-compensation filter. To analyze the proposed method performance, performance index are compared with IQ imbalance signals. This method is suitable for on-board SAR using fast sampling DAC and has the advantage of being able to solve IQ imbalances.

  • Ship collision accidents not only cause loss of life and property damage, but also cause marine pollution and can become national disasters, so prevention is very important. Most of these ship collision accidents are caused by human factors due to the navigation officer's lack of vigilance and carelessness, and in many cases, they can be prevented through the support of a system that helps with situation awareness. Recently, artificial intelligence has been used to develop systems that help navigators recognize the situation, but the sea is very wide and deep, so it is difficult to secure maritime traffic datasets, which also makes it difficult to develop artificial intelligence models. In this paper, to solve these difficulties, we propose a method to build a dataset with characteristics similar to actual maritime traffic datasets. The proposed method uses segmentation and inpainting technologies to build a foreground and background dataset, and then applies compositing technology to create a synthetic dataset. Through prototype implementation and result analysis of the proposed method, it was confirmed that the proposed method is effective in overcoming the difficulties of dataset construction and complementing various scenes similar to reality.

  • An improved method for the preparation of monomethine cyanine dyes with quinoline nucleus by one-pot three-component using 1-methyl-2-quinolinethione, quaternized 2- or 4-methylheterocyclic compounds and methyl p-toluenesulfonate as starting materials was described. Compared with the traditional methods, the new synthetic method reduced the reaction steps, shortened the reaction time, avoided the separation and purification of the intermediate and reduced cost. The dyes absorbed in the region 478.0-563.0 nm and had molar extinction coefficients of $1.3{\times}10^4-9.4 {\times}10^4L\;mol^{-1}\;cm^{-1}$. Their fluorescence maxima and Stokes shifts were in the range of 525.2-594.4 nm and 16.2-80.6 nm in different solvents, respectively. From the spectral properties of the dyes in different solvents, it could be found that the ${\lambda}_{max}$ of the dyes were shorter in protonic solvents, and showed hypsochromic shifts with the increase of polarity of the solvents.

  • We have recently described the novel synthetic method for N-protected amines from various ethers using chlorosulfonyl isocyanate(CSI) and found that the mechanism of our CSI reaction is a competitive reaction of SN1 and SNi mechanism according to the stability of carbocation intermediate. Forthermore. we developed the regioselective and diastereoselective one-pot synthetic method for 1,2-amino alcohol, through the reaction of di-and tribenzyl thers with CSI, and invetigated its mechanism. • We have developed the novel one-pot synthetic method for regioselective N-protected amines, carbamates as a protective group of amines, through the reaction of various ethers with chlorosulfonyl isocyanate (CSJ). This synthetic method provides a simple and convenient alternative for the formation of carbamates, such as -NHMoc, -NHPoc. -NHCbz, -NHPnz, -NHTroc and -NHAloc, by varying the alkyl moiety of ethers. • Conducting polymers have been attracting considerable attention from both scientific and industrial perspectives by virtue of the beneficial electrical and optical properties originating from their unique ${\pi}-conjugated$ system. Many efforts have been devoted toward fabricating conducting polymer nanomaterials. Of the various synthetic methodologies, soft template method has emerged as a very promising tool in fabricating conducting polymer nanomaterials. For last a few years, our research group has intensively studied the fabrication and application of conducting polymer nanomaterials. In this talk, the recent achievement in the synthetic methodology based on the use of soft templates will be discussed.

  • Non-hydrolyzable fluorinated organosilicon compounds as an eletrolyte for the application of lithium-ion batteries (LIB) are synthesized. New synthetic method for the perfluorinated organosilicon compound containing spacer such as ethyl and propyl group with cyano moiety instead of ethylene glycol to prevent hydrolysis and to promote conductivity are developed in one pot reaction with moderately high yield. Air-sensitive boron trifluoride etherate is no longer required in this reaction. The products are characterized by spectroscopic analysis.

  • As smartphones appear as suitable devices to implement ubiquitous computing recently, there are many researchers who study about personalized Intelligent services in smartphones. An intelligent synthetic character is one of them. This paper proposes a method generating behaviors of an intelligent synthetic character. In order to generate more natural behaviors for the character, the Bayesian networks are exploited to infer the user's states and OCC model is utilized to create the character's emotion. After inferring the contexts, the behaviors are generated through the behavior selection networks with using the information. A usability test verifies the usefulness of the proposed method.

  • A general expression for the beam patterns of various synthetic aperture(SA) techniques was derived based on a unified SA model. This model was used to analyze and compare the performance of existing SA methods. Based on the theoretical studies, we propose a new synthetic aperture technique that is best suitable for the linear-scan imaging. The proposed method enables dynamic tow-way focusing in real imaging so that the B-mode image resolution can be greatly improved. Compared to the conventional focusing technique, the focused beam pattern by the proposed shows the mainlobe width reduced by half and comparable sidelobe levels. Computer simulation results demonstrated the validity of the theoretical analysis and the proposed SA method.
