Recently, as change in global logistics environment, various issues have been presenting. These issues are including the pursuit of low cost-high added value, the realization of sustainable logistics system, the protection of environment, and the development of ubiquitous techniques. To cope with these environment changes and improve the national logistics system, the government have carried out various logistics policies and pushed ahead development of national logistics information network. But still, from a view-point of national logistics, there are several inefficient elements such as information connection and utilization, code/data standardization. In this paper, the survey result of global logistics environment change, logistics policy of a developed countries, domestic logistics policy and information system status will be presented. And from these status, suggestive points are mentioned. Finally the status of railway logistics information and future developments are presented.

The Visa Waiver Program of the United States increases the number of Korean tourists to the US but lso affects the number of the US tourists to Korea. One of the most important factors in the tourism industry is the increase in the demand for tourism and other related services. In this regard, the VWP is expected to be a new opportunity which generates such demands. It should be reminded that the sustainable development in the industry is essential rather than limiting to the effects of the VWP. Transportation and communication has recorded unbelievable advancement which will be continued in the future.

Urban planning involves many different disciplines. In order for the related stakeholders to have better understanding and acceptable outcomes, planners are required to present a methodology that would properly reflect people's interest. In order to justify the demand and distribute people's interest, planners actively utilized the suitability analysis. Accordingly, a suitability analysis to find the optimal route for high-speed rail was performed in this paper. With ArcGIS and geographic data sets, simple map algebra could be used. The final product of this research was a map indicating the suitable routes for high-speed rail using the shortest path analysis.

The purpose of this study was to carry out land use suitability analysis of Seoul Metropolitan City based on ecopolis planning concept or environmentally sound and sustainable development. Objectives of the analyses were to save energy by increasing urban density and allocating urban land use types near to public transportation system, to increase food producing capacity by restoring fertile agricultural lands, and to enhance urban ecosystem by expanding and networking parks and green spaces. This study has two phases. First, the land use suitability analyses for commercial, industrial, residential, agricultural, and green spaces were carried out. Second, required urban land use .types were allocated based on ESSD concept. Two alternative land use plans were developed based on two population sizes:existing population of 11million and 4.4million derived by the application of ermergy theory of T. Odum.

This study is designed to provide a facilitation program of the railroad tourist business that the bicycle is connected with the railroad. The sustainable growth will be achieved thorough the green growth being able to coexist with environment. To deal with the transportation problems -the environmental pollution caused by a large number of cars and the energy depletion, the traffic congestion- in our society is the prerequisites for the green growth. There is the need focusing on the expansion of the green network and the policy implementation of utilizing the bicycle, the formulation of the social consensus for environmental preservation. This provides the opportunity that we create the customer values and reinforce the firm's competitiveness. This study is to propose the plan for accelerating the tourism business connected to the bicycle, and to contribute to the government policy, to boost the green image of the railroad. Approaching in the strategic way to increase the customer's value and environmental preservation, this study will contribute to providing high quality customer service for both of the business performance and the customer satisfaction.

Seoul subway is an safety, quick, and clean public transportation to secure citizens safety. One of the most important elements of train is optimizing railroad function and need to conform railroad inspection for function maintenance. Railroad is the most biggest part of the railroad facility and it is a structure which requires sustainable maintenance. The purpose of study is to improve domestic metropolitan railroad facility inspection method and period. For this, we refer documents about present roving method, roving members and period of railroad roving. In addition, analyzed problems of railroad roving investigation method and period by examining the type and standards of railroad investigation and interviewing experts. By this, we analyzed improving plan and expectations of railroad maintenance and repair operation.

In the process of exploring sustainable development, major cities in China are expanding metro systems as a strategy to reduce the negative environmental and social consequences of fast-paced motorization. A metro station is not only a transportation node, but also a place where diverse activities can be performed. Therefore, the realization of the spatial potential for human interaction is the essence of the strategy for integrated development in metro station areas. For this paper, 10 well-developed metro stations in Central Shanghai were selected to investigate the correlation between accessibility and spatial performance in station areas. The spatial performance in station areas is significantly affected by metro configuration. However, both vehicle and pedestrian accessibility show weak influence on spatial performance. A synergistic model was then developed to provide quantitative support for transit-oriented development in metro station areas.

This paper summarizes the results of a two-year-long research project conducted by the CTBUH on the life cycle assessment (LCA) of tall building structural systems. The research project was made possible thanks to a $300,000 contribution from ArcelorMittal and the support of some of the most important structural engineering firms and players in the tall building industry. The research analyzed all life phases of a tall building's structural system: the extraction and production of its materials, transportation to the site, construction operations, final demolition of the building, and the end-of-life of the materials. The impact of the building structure during the operational phase (i.e., impact on daily energy consumption, maintenance, and suitability to changes) was also investigated, but no significant impacts were identified during this phase.

With the increase in the demand for sustainable and environmentally-friendly development, Green Building Certification System came into force in 2002, Evaluation parts of Green Building Certification System are divided into land use and transportation, energy, ecological environment, and indoor environment. Alloted point for the part of energy is larger than other part, thus we can say that this part is very important to increase the green building performance. This study aims to analyze the present condition of design and construction for the part of energy in the certificated green school building. Total 40 certificated school buildings were selected and average scoring rate of each item was evaluated. Key particular to be considered were suggested to improve the item of energy consumption.
