  • The FastSound project is a galaxy redshift survey using Subaru/FMOS to detect $H{\alpha}$ emitting galaxies at z ~ 1:3, for the purpose of probing the origin of the accelerated expansion of the universe. The survey has detected ~4,000 galaxy redshifts in a total area of $30deg^2$, and detected the redshift space distortion at this redshift range for the first time. The redshift space distortion (RSD) signal will be used to derive a measurement of the growth rate of large scale structure, which will provide a test for modified gravity as a possible origin of accelerated cosmic explansion. Here we present an overview and the current status of the project.

  • To assess the prevalence of various radiological reduction methods for childhood intussusception in training hospitals by means of a nationwide phone survey, and to demonstrate recent trends in this area by comparing the findings with those obtained in a survey conducted. $BaTiO_3$ system was prepared by using fabrication of classical conditioning ceramics. Polycrystalline and surface structure characteristics of the specimens were measured by X-ray diffraction, SEM(Scanning Electron Microscopy) and EDAX (Energy Dispersive Spectrometer), respectively.

  • The Faraday rotation measure (RM) of extragalactic radio sources is one of tools that can explore the magnetic field in the cosmic web. We have investigated the statistical properties of the RM using the data of simulations for the large-scale structure formation of the universe. Various modelings for the cosmic magnetic field including the redshift dependence, and the intrinsic RM of radio sources have been considered. We here present the structure functions (SFs) of simulated RMs for small angular separations, and compare the SFs with observations, specifically those from the NRAO VLA Sky Survey (NVSS) and LOFAR Two-Metre Sky Survey (LoTSS). We then discuss the implications of our work.

  • We present the result of near-infrared (near-IR) imaging polarimetry of star-forming regions in the Large Magellanic Cloud (LMC). We compiled near-IR photometric and polarimetric data of N159/160 regions. The photometric and polarimetric data were simultaneously obtained in J, H, and Ks bands using SIRPOL, an imaging polarimeter of the InfraRed Survey Facility (IRSF), in 2007 February. We measured Stokes parameters of point-like sources to derive their degree of polarization and polarization position angles. In this poster, we present polarization properties of these star-forming regions. We also discuss the polarization structure in these regions compared with mid-infrared dust emission structure from the Spitzer SAGE survey.

  • The purpose of this study is to understand the residential needs of family types and to suggest the basic documents for the apartments remodeling, which can be through the actual survey of residential living of old apartments. Generally, they have the residential living pattern according to the family types and the residential space types and it has an effect on the confrontation structure of residential living and residential space. Finally, through the analysis on the confrontation structure of residential living and residential space according to the family types and residential space, we found the residential needs and the family types and the applicable family types and there is some difference the residential needs according to the family types, but no difference according to the entrance types.

  • Clusters of galaxies provide unique laboratories to study astrophysical processes on large scales, and are also important probes for cosmology. X-ray observations are still the best way to find and characterise clusters. The extended ROSAT-ESO flux-limited X-ray (REFLEX II) galaxy clusters form currently the largest well-defined and tested X-ray galaxy cluster sample, providing a census of the large-scale structure of the Universe out to redshifts of z-0.4. I will describe the properties of the survey and the X-ray luminosity function, which led to our recent cosmological constraints on omegaM-sigma8. They tighten the previous constraints from other X-ray experiments, showing good agreements with those from the Planck clusters, but some tension exists with the Planck CMB constraints. The second part of my talk will concern the structure of the local Universe, and the study of the first X-ray superclusters. The density of the clusters reveals an under-dense region in the nearby Universe, which has an interesting implication for the cosmological parameters. Using the X-ray superclusters, that are constructed with a physically motivated procedure, I will show environmental aspects that X-ray superclusters provide, and compare to cosmological N-body simulations.

  • Variations in abundance, size and population structure of Calanus sinicus were studied in the southern waters of Korea in connection with hydrographic conditions during 1991-1992. Abundance was high in April and low in August. This species was concentrated inshore of a coastal temperature front, or around the temperature front in April. The 1st-3rd copepodites dominated in February and April, and adults in August. The mean population stages in February and April were younger than those in other survey months. This suggests that this species mainly reproduced during winter-early spring. In prosome length, the 1st-4th copepodites were larger in April than in other survey months, and the 5th copepodite and adult were the largest in February. Mean prosome length of C. sinicus showed weak inverse relationship with sea water temperature, but it was not statistically evidenced.

  • In nature, some creatures have the ability to walk vertically or upside down on various natural surfaces. One of them, Tokay Gecko has billions of nano-hair at the epidermis of its digital. These nano hairs makes atomistic attractive force to the surface, therefore, it could walk and run on the vertical or upside surfaces. Recently, many researchers tried to fabricate the dry adhesive structure mimicking the nano-hair structure. in this study, I tried to survey these studies to discuss the direction of future fabrication works of dry adhesive structures.
