사상체질에 따른 피부 표면 상태 분석 (Characteristics of Facial Skin Surface According to Sasang Constitution Classification)

  • For better diagnosis and prescription in Korean traditional medicine, Lee Je-Ma (1837-1900) created Sasang Constitution classification which was divided into four groups of Taeyangin, Soyangin, Taeumin and Soumin based on both body shape and natural disposition. The purpose of this study was to investigate the characteristics of facial skin parameters (hydration, lipid and pH) on forehead and cheek according to Sasang Constitution classifications of Taeumin, Soyangin and Soumin in Korean. Eighty-nine Korean female subjects were recruited for this study and the average age of them was 19.9${\pm}$0.84 years. The four groups by the Sasang Constitution were classified by questionnaire for the Sasang Constitution classification proposed by Kyung-Hee Oriental Medicine Hospital. Consequently, thirty-eight (42.7%) among the subjects were grouped into Soumin, twenty-nine (32.6%) into Taeumin, twenty (22.5%) into Soyangin and two (2%) into Taeyangin. Taeyangin group was excluded from statistical analysis due to small subjects. Hydration, lipid and pH parameters on forehead and cheek were measured by using non-invasive instruments of Corneometer (CM 825, Schwarzhaup, Germany), Sebumeter (SM 815, Schwarzhaup, Germany) and Skin-pH-meter (pH 905, Schwarzhaup, Germany), respectively. The measurements by the same investigator were performed under standardized condition with a room temperature of $21^{\circ}C$ and a humidity level of 40% to 50%. As a result, hydration (F=25.481, p=.000), lipid (F=5.753, p=.005) and pH (F=5.010, p=.009) of the forehead skin showed significant differences in the order of Taeumin, Soyangin and Soumin. Hydration (F=23.216, p=.000), lipid (F=6.898 p=.002) and pH (F=5.070, p=.008) of the cheek skin showed significant differences in the order of Taeumin, Soyangin and Soumin. In conclusion, facial skin surface seemed to be dependent on Sasang Constitution classification in Korean. These findings indicated that Sasang Constitution classification might be an useful esthetic treatment for caring facial skin in the future.

STEADY NONLINEAR HYDROMAGNETIC FLOW OVER A STRETCHING SHEET WITH VARIABLE THICKNESS AND VARIABLE SURFACE TEMPERATURE

  • This work is focused on the boundary layer and heat transfer characteristics of hydromagnetic flow over a stretching sheet with variable thickness. Steady, two dimensional, nonlinear, laminar flow of an incompressible, viscous and electrically conducting fluid over a stretching sheet with variable thickness and power law velocity in the presence of variable magnetic field and variable temperature is considered. Governing equations of the problem are converted into ordinary differential equations utilizing similarity transformations. The resulting non-linear differential equations are solved numerically by utilizing Nachtsheim-Swigert shooting iterative scheme for satisfaction of asymptotic boundary conditions along with fourth order Runge-Kutta integration method. Numerical computations are carried out for various values of the physical parameters and the effects over the velocity and temperature are analyzed. Numerical values of dimensionless skin friction coefficient and non-dimensional rate of heat transfer are also obtained.

중규모 기상모형에서 지표면 경사를 고려한 직달 복사량의 효과 (Effect of Direct Solar Radiation with Sloped Topography in a Mesoscale Meteorological Model)

  • 중규모 기상모형을 이용하여 기상장에서의 지형적 특성의 효과가 연구되었다. 본 연구에서는 지형의 경사를 고려한 조도각을 이용하여 지표면의 지형 특성이 직달 복사량에 미치는 효과를 계산하고, 이것이 중규모 기상장에 어떠한 영향을 미치는지 살펴보았다. 기상 조건에 따른 직달 복사량의 변화를 고려하기 위해, 고기압의 영향을 받은 날과 저기압의 영향을 받은 흐린 날을 선택하여 두 사례에 대한 실험 결과를 나타내었다. 직달 복사량의 보정에 대한 두 사례의 실험 결과, 지형 경사가 급한 태백산맥과 소백산맥에서 직달 복사량의 뚜렷한 차이가 나타났다. 또한 이러한 결과의 시계열 분석을 살펴보면, 산맥의 동쪽 사면에서의 직달 복사량이 오후보다 오전에 약 $10-60W/m^2$ 더 크게 나타나는 반면, 서쪽 사면에서는 그 반대 경향이 나타났다. 이러한 결과는 맑은 날의 경우 더욱 뚜렷하게 나타났다. 같은 방법으로 지표면 온도의 변화를 살펴본 결과, 맑은 날의 경우 지표면 온도는 전 시간에 걸쳐 양 사면에서 더 높게 나와 관측 값에 더욱 근접한 값을 보였다. 흐리고 비가 왔던 날의 경우, 지표면 온도는 오전에는 동쪽 사면에서 더 높은 값을 보였고 오후에는 더 낮은 온도를 보였다. 반면, 서쪽 사면에서의 지표면 온도는 전 시간에 걸쳐 높은 값을 나타냈다. 이 두 사례의 경우, 지표면의 경사를 고려한 경우의 지표면 온도가 수평 지표면을 고려했을 때보다 대개 높게 나타남을 볼 수 있다. 바람장을 살펴보면, 태백산맥과 소백산맥 주위에서 강한 바람이 모사되는데, 이러한 결과는 지형의 기울기를 고려해 줌으로써 수평면을 고려했을 때 보다 온도 경도가 증가되고, 이에 따라 기압 경도력이 강화되기 때문이다.

Metabolic Heat Production and Rectal Temperature of Newborn Calves

  • Rectal temperature (Tr), skin surface temperatures (Ts), and heart rate (HR) were measured continuously from birth (day 1) till day 7, while resting heat production (HP) was measured in a chamber on days 1, 3, 5 and 7, in order to study the characteristic variation of Tr in newborn calves by heat balance methods. Despite constant levels of milk being given to the newborn calves each day, daily mean resting HP was lowest on the day of birth, then increased to peak on day 3 and then decreased slightly thereafter. Daily mean HR was higher on days 2, 3 and 4, than on other days. Tr exhibited diurnal rhythms and daily mean Tr was low on day 1, high on day 3, and then decreased slightly after day 3. Daily average mean skin temperature (mTs) was similar on all days. Mean body temperature (Tb) exhibited diurnal rhythms and had a similar range between days, suggesting that heat balance and thermoregulation were carried out effectively on each day. The variation of Tb appeared to be synchronized with that of HP and suggested that newborn calves might use variations in the levels of Tb to facilitate the body's required levels of heart loss.

Non Darcy Mixed Convection Flow of Magnetic Fluid over a Permeable Stretching Sheet with Ohmic Dissipation

  • This paper aims to discuss the Non Darcy boundary layer flow of non-conducting viscous fluid with magnetic ferroparticles over a permeable linearly stretching surface with ohmic dissipation and mixed convective heat transfer. A magnetic dipole is applied "a" distance below the surface of stretching sheet. The governing equations are modeled. Similarity transformation is used to convert the system of partial differential equations to a system of non-linear but ordinary differential equations. The ODEs are solved numerically. The effects of sundry parameters on the flow properties like velocity, pressure, skin-friction coefficient and Nusselt number are presented. It is deduced the frictional resistance of Lorentz force decreases with stronger electric field and the trend reverses for temperature. Skin friction coefficient increase with increase in ferromagnetic interaction parameter. Whereas, Nusselt number decrease.

우피에서의 락(Lac)염료 염색 및 매염효과 (Dyeing Conditions and Mordant Effects on the Cow Leather Dyed with Lac Powder)

  • This research was carried out to find the dyeabilities and mordants effects of cow leather dyed with Lac powder. They were examined by changing dye concentration, dyeing temperature, bath ratio, dyeing time, and dyeing repetition. And K/S values and surface color changes were evaluated by various mordanting conditions. The optimum dyeing conditions of the cow leather dyed with Lac powder were 30%, $40^{\circ}C$, 30:1, 30minutes, and 4 repetitions. The K/S values were higher in post mordant than pre mordanting condition. The surface colors of dyed cow leathers were R and RP. The dye fastnesses increased in post Cu and Fe mordanting, as decreased in gallnut and chestnut's skin conditions.

가을철 온열환경에 대한 대학생의 적응수준 진단 (Diagnosis of Collegian's Adaptation Level for Autumn Environment)

  • The actual clothing conditions were surveyed to diagnose clothing condition of collegians in the view point of adaptation to the thermal environment in fall. Then, clothing climate, physiological responses, and subjective sensation were investigated through wearing trials on human subjects in climatic chamber based on the results from the survey. Factors to evaluate validity of clothing condition were clothing weight, clothing climate, physiological responses of human body, and subjective sensation. Adaptability of this research to thermal environment was compared to the results of Toda's and Duno's of Japan, Chung's results of Korea rural area, and Winslow's clo value. The standard values for wearing trials were values at comfortable zone, such as $32{\pm}1^{\circ}C$ of temperature and $50{\pm}10%$ of humidity inside clothing, $36.5{\sim}37.3^{\circ}C$ of ear temperature and $32.2{\sim}34.3^{\circ}C$ of mean skin temperature. Clothing weight per body surface area was 680.9 $g/m^2$ in male and 526.7 $g/m^2$ in women. Cold resistance ability of collegians was superior to Japanese and American, and similar to rural male in Korea. According to the examination of clothing adaptability with clothing weight from the investigation on physiological responses and the actual clothing conditions survey, following were found. Temperature inside clothing ($29.8{\sim}32.3^{\circ}C$) was normal, and humidity inside clothing (32.2~54.8%) was at comfortable zone. Mean skin temperature was at its comfortable zone. Therefore, 615 $g/m^2$ in male and 525 $g/m^2$ in female were a desirable wearing condition.

전력기기용 Al/Cu 복합 부스바의 통전용량 설계 및 특성 평가 (Transport Capacity Design and Characteristics Evaluation of Al/Cu Composite Busbar for Power Equipments)

  • This paper deals with the electric and thermal characteristics of the composite busbar composed of aluminum and copper. When AC current is flowing in Cu busbar used widely in conservative equipments like power cable, transformer, and switchgear & controlgear most current is concentrated on the surface of the busbar by the skin effect. Therefore, if the Cu region in the busbar having low current density is replaced with aluminum, we can largely reduce the product cost and weight of the busbar. To conform the performance of the composite busbar, we designed and fabricated a test Al/Cu composite busbar. Maximun temperature rise of the busbar was $35^{\circ}C$ when 1600 Arms of AC current was applied to the test composite busbar($120mm{\times}10mm$). Based on test results, we can expect to make the low-priced and light power equipments using the Al/Cu composite busbar.

인체의 자세가 체온조절에 미치는 영향 (The effect of posture on the human thermoregulatory response)

  • The purpose of this study was to evaluate the thermoregulatory responses to postures under different environmental conditions and to obtain the basal information for standard clothing weight, indoor climates, and working condition. Two adult female (22.5yrs, 46kg) were participated in this study. The experimental conditions were divided into three groups ; 1) comfort($27{\pm}1^{\circ}C$, $60{\pm}10%$), 2) hot($34{\pm}1^{\circ}C$, $60{\pm}10%$), and 3) cold($21{\pm}1^{\circ}C$, $50{\pm}10%$) condition. The postures performed were as follows; standing, sitting on the chair, sitting on the floor, and supine on the floor. At each condition, subjective sensations, 12 points skin temperature, rectal temperature, total and local sweat rate, pulse rates, blood pressure, skin blood flow rate were measured. The results were as follows : 1. Rectal temperature was high significant among groups in order of supine, sitting on the floor, sitting on the chair, standing posture(p<0.01). 2. Skin temperature was high in part of contact with the surface of the floor or wall and the effect of posture was greater in peripheral temperature than torso temperature. Sitting on the chair and sitting on the floor posture showed higher peripheral temperature than standing and supine posture. And peripheral temperature was lower in supine posture than any other postures. 3. Total and local sweat rate were decreased in order of standing, sitting on the chair, sitting on the floor, supine posture. 4. Pulse rate and disastolic blood pressure were higher in standing posture than supine posture, and there was significant difference between two postures(p<0.001). 5. Blood flow rate of thigh was high in sitting on the chair and sitting on the floor posture and low in standing posture. Blood flow rate of leg was low in standing posture significantly(p<0.01). 6. In comfort and hot condition, temperature sensation and comfort sensation were higher in standing posture and lower in supine posture than any other postures. In cold condition, temperature sensation was lower and comfort sensation was higher in standing and supine posture than any other postures. And supine posture was appeared positive in hot condition and negative in cold condition. From this study, we confirmed the effects of posture on human thermoregulatory responses. Results indicate that even under same conditions and clothing weight, the insulation of clothing will be different to postures.

북반구 해빙 지역에서 세 종류 위성관측 표면온도에 대한 오차분석 (Error Analysis of Three Types of Satellite-observed Surface Skin Temperatures in the Sea Ice Region of the Northern Hemisphere)

  • 본 연구에서는 위성관측 표면온도 및 해당 온도경향의 불확실성을 조사하기 위하여 북반구($30-90^{\circ}N$) 해양 지역에서 2003-2014년 4월 16-24일 기간에 세 종류의 위성관측 자료(MODIS IST, AIRS/AMSU SST, AIRS only SST)를 상호 비교하였다. AIRS/AMSU 표면온도값에 비하여 MODIS는 해빙과 해수의 경계지역에서 계통적으로 최대 1.6 K 높은 반면에, 해빙 지역에서는 2 K 낮았다. 이러한 주요 원인은 표면온도 산출알고리즘의 해표 정보(e.g., 해빙 탐지)를 위하여 MODIS는 적외 채널만을 사용하는 반면에, AIRS/AMSU는 마이크로파 및 적외 채널을 함께 사용하는 데에 있다. 미국 항공우주국(NASA's Goddard Space Flight Center; NASA/GSFC)은 AMSU-A의 노후화를 대비하기 위하여 AIRS/AMSU 알고리즘을 일부 수정하여 AIRS only 알고리즘을 개발하였다. AIRS/AMSU와 AIRS only 표면온도 사이에 평균 제곱근 오차(RMSE)값은 $30-90^{\circ}N$ 해양 지역에서 0.55 K이며, 편차(bias)는 0.13 K이었으며, 해빙/해수 경계 지역에서는 이들 차이가 더 크게 나타났다. 해빙 경계지역에서 AIRS/AMSU와 AIRS only 간의 차이가 다른 지역에 비하여 큰 이유는 AIRS only 알고리즘이 AMSU 마이크로파 자료 대신에 GCM (NOAA Global Forecast System) 온도 산출물을 사용하는 데에 있다. 세 종류의 위성관측 표면온도 자료는 $70-80^{\circ}N$ 위도대에서 유의적인 온도증가($0.23-0.28Kyr^{-1}$)를 보였다. 위성관측 표면온도들 간에 계통적인 불일치는 같은 방향(온도증가 또는 온도감소)으로 해당 온도경향 값들 간의 차이에 영향을 줄 수 있다.
