공형압연 공정에서 소재 표면흠 발생억제를 위한 패스 스케줄 설계 (Pass Schedule Design to Inhibit Surface Cracks Generation on Workpiece in Groove Rolling Process)

  • 본 연구에서는 소재 표면흠 발생을 억제하기 위해 유한요소법을 사용하여 세아베스틸 선재 조압연 라인 공정을 모사하였다. 선재 조업연 라인의 2 번 공형을 설계하였고 이 공형을 압연 라인에 적용하였다. 또한 유한요소법을 사용하여 3 번, 4 번 공형 롤 갭이 변경된 새로운 패스 스케줄을 제안하였다. 본 연구에서는 전단응력비에 의존적인 전단파괴 모델을 사용하였고 소재의 손상된 요소 수를 비교하였다. 손상된 요소는 표면흠을 의미한다. 결과적으로 2 번 공형이 변경된 후 불량률은 이전 공형보다 1.43% 감소되었다. 그리고 새로운 패스 스케줄의 손상된 요소 수는 현재 패스 스케줄보다 37.6% 감소되었다.

접촉피로에 있어서 균열의 발생과 진전특성 (Characteristic of Crack Growth and Progress on the Contact Fatigue (In a case of Metal))

  • 본 연구에서는 접초피로에 있어서 균열의 발생, 진전 등의 관찰을 위해, 균열의 발생, 진전 등이 2차원적으로 되어 시험편측면에서 관찰이 가능한 평판 ring형 시험편을 이용하여 반복수 증대에 따른 균열의 발생, 진전과정을 조사하였다. 그 결과 pitting, flaking형 파손의 초기손상은 접촉면하의 내부에 생기는 접촉면에 평행방향의 균열에 의해 일어나며, 이 균열은 그 방향 밀 파면형태에 의해 접촉응력이 접촉면에 평행방향의 전단응력성분에 의한 모드 ll 피로진전과의 차는 중첩부하된 압축응력의 유무라고 생각되며, 이 가저에 근거로 하여 재료고유의 모드 ll 피로균열진전특성을 구할 수 있는 장치를 개발하였다. 이 장치를 이용하여 알루미륨합금 및 공구강에 대한 da/dN-${\Delta}k$ ll 관계의 시험결과를 얻었다.

  • 철도차량의 전동소음(Rolling noise)을 줄이기 위해서는 차륜과 레일의 음향조도(Acoustic roughness)가 국제규격에서 규정하는 일정값 이하로 관리되어야 한다. 이러한 음향조도의 관리를 위해서 사용되는 측정장치는 접촉식 변위센서를 주로 사용하게 되는데, 주행 중인 장치에서는 센서가 고정된 플랫폼의 위치가 가변적이고 레일면과 구동륜의 접촉시에 프레임의 피칭(Pitching)운동에 의해서 측정값의 오차가 발생하는 단점이 있다. 본 연구에서는 접촉식 변위센서를 통해 측정된 데이터의 정확도를 높이기 위해서, 플랫폼의 휠베이스, 바퀴의 개수 및 바퀴의 탄성접촉 등에 의한 레일표면 측정값의 변화와 스펙트럼 변화를 해석하였으며, 각 설계변수가 음향 스펙트럼에 미치는 영향을 분석하였다.

미세요철표면을 이용한 태핏 표면의 마모 저감에 관한 연구 (Wear Reduction of Tappet Surface by Undulated Surface)

  • The damage of cam/tappet surface is one of the major reasons for energy loss in an I.C. engine. High friction causes the accelerated wear of the cam/tappet surfaces which in turn changes the valve opening/closing timing. During the accelerated test evidence of both rolling fatigue and sliding abrasive wear could be found. Based on the results of the accelerated test, a scheme was devised to decrease tappet wear. Wear reduction of the tappet was achieved by using undulated surface topography in the tappet center region. The wear reduction is achieved by trapping of the wear particles in the undulations as well as by increasing the supply of lubricant to the sliding interface.

  • In order to improve wear and fatigue resistance of the structural materials, especially cold work roller for 304 stainless steel, an eco-super-finishing and surface hardening treatment using ultrasonic vibration energy was developed and applied to the SKD-ll roller. The eco-super-finishing machine was designed and fabricated by DesignMecha Co, by its own technology. It was observed that the surface roughness, hardness and residual stress were changed from $Ra{\;}={\;}O.25\mu\textrm{m}$, Hv=710 and ${\sigma}$={\;}+400{\;}MPa{\;}to{\;}Ra{\;}={\;}0.165\mu\textrm{m}$, Hv = 1200 and ${\sigma}=-610$ MPa after 20 KHz micro-cold forging, which means almost equal to the 300 % improvement of life-time.

  • The most demanded bimetals in home appliances are manufactured by mainly cladding process and these are mainly consist of Cu alloy and Ni alloy. But it is very difficult to clad these alloys, because the brittle ${Cu_3}{O_4}$ oxide film formed easily on Cu alloy surface during cladding process. Clad rolling and heat treatment processes were applied for the development of bimetals by using the Ni alloy and the 3 types of Cu alloys. Optical microstructure was observed and micro-hardness, specific resistance, deflection were measured from the manufactured new bimetals specimens.

윤거, 축거, 차축 하중 분포가 트랙터 진동에 미치는 영향 (Effects of Tread, Wheelbase and Axle Load Distribution on Tractor Vibrations)

  • Effects on the tractor vibrations of tread, wheelbase and axle load distribution were analyzed by using mathematical models of tractor and random road surface. A 4 degrees of freedom tractor model was developed to predict the bounce, pitch and roll motions of tractor. The front axle which is constrained to roll with respect to tractor body was also included in the model. A random road profile was generated and used as an excitation input to the tractor. Output vibrations of the model were predicted and analyzed by a computer simulation method. In general, longer tread tends to reduce rolling and longer wheelbase does bouncing and pitching motions. Tractor vibrations were minimum when the ratio of front to rear axle loads was in the range of 30:70-35:65. Sensitivity analysis showed that rolling and pitching motions most sensitively varied with changes in tread and wheelbase while bouncing motion did with the location of mass center.

최적 피닝조건을 적용한 A6061-T6합금의 피로특성 및 Fractography에 관한 연구 (A study on the fatigue characteristics and Fractography of AL6061-T6 alloy by optimal peening condition)

  • As the industrial society develops rapidly, the weight reduction and high strength are gradually demanded. In case of the welded joint for the rolling stock which receives the repeated load, the fracture can be easily occurred. However, the durability and fatigue characteristics can be improved if the shot peening technique is applied. The optimal peening process should be applied to the metal surface because the over peening can lower the durability of parts. Thus, the fatigue characteristics and Fractography of welded A6061-T6 alloy for a rolling stock were studied in the paper. The optimal peening condition and Fractography were examined. The experimental result show that over peening can lower fatigue life caused by micro crack, fold and incrustation. The fatigue life of welded A6061-T6 was tremendously improved.

X선회절에 의한 베어링강의 경도측정에 대한 고찰 (Discussion on Hardness Measuring of Bearing Steel by X-ray Diffraction)

  • The half-value breadth off-ray diffraction profile line is generally used for a factor in nondestructive hardness measuring method of steel. In this paper, the problem in using the half-value breadth for the hardness measuring method is evaluated in strain hardened steel. And new hardness measuring method using residual stress is proposed X-ray diffraction test after rolling contact fatigue test of ball bearing with inner race of various hardness are carried out to measure the distribution of residual stress and half-value breadth from surface. The result of this study shows that there is little correlation between half-value breadth and hardness in the higher strength region and in the region increasing the hardness by strain hardening. But the magnitude of residual stress on/under race after rolling contact fatigue test becomes clearly to be correlative with hardness. Thus, it is concluded that the hardness of strain hardened steel can be estimated by this relationship between residual stress and hardness.

철도차량 차륜의 구름접촉피로의 실험적 연구 (Experimental study on rolling contact fatigue of railway wheel)

  • Railway wheels and axles belong to the most critical components in railway vehicles. The service conditions of railway vehicles became more severe in recent years due to the increase of speed. Therefore, a more precise evaluation of wheel/set life and safety has been requested. One of the major reasons of railway wheel damage is a contact zone failure by wheel/rail contact. In this paper, we conducted a rolling contact fatigue test for wheels using a specimen of wheel/rail. the behavior of hardeness and residual stress below the contact surface of the test pieces in the fatigue process were analyzed. Finally, the relation between fatigue life and contact pressure was obtained.
