The surface heat flux of nuclear fuel rod is the most important factor which can affect safety of reactor and fuel. If fuel rod surface heat flux exceeds the CHF(${\underline{C}}ritical$${\underline{H}}eat$${\underline{F}}lux$), fuel can be damaged. In case of double cooled annular fuel, which is under developing, contains two coolant channels. Therefore, a generated heat in the fuel pellet can move to inner or outer channel and heat flow direction is decided by both sides heat resistance which varied by dimension and material property change which caused by temperature and irradiation. The new program(called DUO) was developed. For the calculation of surface heat flux, a both sides convection by inner/outer coolant, s gap temperature jump and conduction in the fuel are modeled. Especially, temperature and time dependent fuel dimension and material property change are considered during the iteration. A sample calculation result shows that the DUO program has sufficient performance for annular fuel thermal hydraulics design.

Experiments were performed to investigate bubble behaviors and pool boiling Critical Heat Flux (CHF) on a thin flat rectangular copper heater fabricated on Printed Circuit Board (PCB), at various inclination angles. The surface inclination angles were $0^{\circ}$, $45^{\circ}$, $90^{\circ}$, $135^{\circ}$, and $180^{\circ}$. Results showed the Onset of Nucleate Boiling (ONB) heat flux increased with increasing heater orientation from $0^{\circ}$ to $90^{\circ}$, while early ONB occurred when the heater faced downwards ($135^{\circ}$ and $180^{\circ}$). The nucleate boiling was observed to be unstable at low heat flux (1-21% of CHF) and changed into typical boiling when the heat flux was above 21% of CHF. The result shows the CHF decreased with increasing heater orientation from $0^{\circ}$ to $180^{\circ}$. In addition, the bubble departure diameter at the heater facing upwards ($0^{\circ}$, $45^{\circ}$, and $90^{\circ}$) was more prominent compared to that of the heater facing downward ($135^{\circ}$). The nucleation site density also observed increased with increasing heat flux. Moreover, the departed bubbles with larger size were observed to require a longer time to re-heat and activate new nucleation sites. These results proved that the ONB, CHF, and bubble dynamics were strongly dependent on the heater surface orientation.
Surface heat budget of the Deukryang Bay from July 1, 1992 to September 12, 1993 is analyzed by us- ing the meteorological data (by Changhung Observatory and Mokpo Meteorological Station) and oceanogaphical data (by Research Center for Ocean Industrial Development. Pukyong National University). Each flux element at the sea surface which has annual variation Is derived with application of an aerodynamical bulk method and empirical formulae. The solar radiation Is the maximum In spring and sensible heat are the maximum in autumn and water. and minimum in summer The heat .storage rate is calclilated by using the rate of water temperature variation according to the depth. The oceanic transport heat is estimated as a residual. The net heat flux, the heat storage rate are positive In spring and summer, while they are negative in autumn and winter. The oceanic transport heat Is convergence In winter and divergence In the rest of seasons.

In order to examine the heat transfer characteristic of a soil warming system and effects of soil warming on the greenhouse heating load, control experiments were performed in two greenhouses covered with double polyethylene film. One treated the soil warming with an electric heat wire and the other treated a control. Inside and outside air temperature, soil temperature and heat flux, and heating energy consumption were measured under the set point of heating temperature of $5,\;10,\;15,\;and\;20^{\circ}C$, respectively. Soil temperatures in a soil warming treatment were observed $4.1\;to\;4.9^{\circ}C$ higher than a control. Heating energy consumptions decreased by 14.6 to 30.8% in a soil warming treatment. As the set point of heating temperature became lower, the rate of decrease in the heating energy consumptions increased. The percentage of soil heat flux in total heating load was -49.4 to 24.4% and as the set point of heating temperature became higher, the percentage increased. When the set point of heating temperature was low in a soil warming treatment, the soil heat flux load was minus value and it had an effect on reducing the heating load. Soil heat flux loads showed in proportion to the air temperature difference between the inside and outside of greenhouse but they showed big difference according to the soil warming treatment. So new model for estimation of the soil heat flux load should be introduced. Convective heat transfer coefficients were in proportion to the 1/3 power of temperature difference between the soil surface and the inside air. They were $3.41\;to\;12.42\;W/m^{2}^{\circ}C$ in their temperature difference of $0\;to\;10^{\circ}C$. Radiative heat loss from soil surface in greenhouse was about 66 to 130% of total heating load. To cut the radiation loss by the use of thermal curtains must be able to contribute for the energy saving in greenhouse.
Though sensible heat flux is one of heat flux components, it is generally considered that the importance is low compared with other components because of the small value. Actually sensible heat flux over the tropical ocean is extremely small, less than $100\;W/m^2$ .. However, it should be noted that sensible heat flux in boreal winter over the western boundary current regions is considerably large, about $100\;W/m^2$, and not neglected. In this study we carry out intercomparison of various global sensible heat flux data including not only satellite-derived data but also reanalysis data in order to clarify the characteristics of those data.
This experimental study was carried out to evaluate effect of the radiation heat flux for the pool and spill fire in petroleum storage tanks, which were made form steel. Each of them had the capacity of 250, 2500 and 25000 liter, respectively. The effects of the radiation heat flux are as follows; 1) The intensity of radiation heat flux from a flame decreased exponentially with increasing distance from outside wall of tanks, and increased significantly with surface area of tank and dyke. 2) In the case of 25000L tank, the radiation heat flux was about max. 98.9kW/$m^2$ in 1m from wall of tank. 3) The distance, that was able to ignite wood or plastics by radiation heat flux of approximately 12.5kW/$m^2$, was about 3.14m from wall of 25000L tank.

In this paper, Annual flux variations in the Boseong Tall Tower (BTT) from 2016 to 2020 were analyzed using data from three levels (2.5 m, 60 m, and 300 m). BTT was installed in Boseong-gun, Jeollanam-do in February 2014 and continued to conduct energy exchange observations such as CO2, sensible heat, and latent heat using the eddy covariance method until March 2023. The BTT was located in a very flat and uniform paddy field, and flux observations were conducted at four levels: 2.5 m, 60 m, 140 m, and 300 m above ground. Surface energy balance was confirmed from observed data of net radiation flux, soil heat flux, sensible heat flux, and latent heat flux. Additionally, 2.5 m height surface fluxes, which are most influenced by agricultural land, were compared with data from Local Data Assimilation and Prediction System (LDAPS) of the Korea Meteorological Administration to evaluate the accuracy of LDAPS flux data. The correlation coefficient between LDAPS flux data and observed values was 0.95 or higher. Excluding summer latent heat flux data, there was a general tendency for LDAPS data to be higher than observed values. The footprint areas estimated below 60 m height mainly covered agricultural land, and flux observations at 2.5 m and 60 m heights showed typical agricultural characteristics. In contrast, the footprint estimated at 300 m height did not show agricultural characteristics, indicating that observations at this height encompassed a wide range, including mountains, sea, and roads. The analysis results of long-term flux observations can contribute to understanding the energy and carbon dioxide fluxes in agricultural fields. Furthermore, these results can be utilized as essential data for validating and improving numerical models related to such fluxes.

As for the Production of internal combustion engines there has been further movement toward development of high Performance engines with improved fuel efficiency as well as a lightweight and a small size. These tendencies help to solve the problems in engines for example, such as thermal load. abnormal combustion and so on. In order to investigate these Problems, a thin film-type probe for measuring instantaneous temperature has been suggested. A method for manufacturing such a probe was established in this study The instantaneous surface temperature of a constant volume combustion chamber was measured by using this probe and the heat flux was obtained through Fourier analysis In order to thoroughly understand the characteristics of combustion. authors measured wall temperature of combustion chamber and calculated heat flux through a cylinder wall while varying the protrusion height of probe. For these Purposes, the instantaneous surface temperature probe was developed. thereby making possible the analysis of instantaneous temperature of wall surface and the detection of unsteady heat flux in the constant volume combustion chamber.
In this study, the minimum heat flux conditions are experimentally investigated for the spray cooling of hot plate. The hot plates are cooled down from the initial temperature of about $900^{\circ}C$, and the local heat flux and surface temperatures are calculated from the measured temperature-time history. The results show that the minimum heat flux point temperatures increase linearly resulting from the propagation of wetting front with the increase of the distance from the stagnation point of spray flow. However, in the wall region, the minimum heat flux point temperature becomes independent of the distance. Also, the experimental results show that the velocity of wetting front increases with the increase of the droplet flow rate.
