니트로셀룰로오스락카, 아미노알키드, 폴리에스테르 및 폴리우레탄 도료(塗料)의 도막성능(塗膜性能)에 관(關)한 고찰(考察) (A Study on Characteristics of Coated Films on Wood Surface by Nitrocellulose Lacquer, Aminoalkyd, Polyester, and Polyurethan)

  • This experiment was executed to investigate the characteristics of gloss and color difference in coated films by N.C. Lacquer, Aminoalkyd, Polyester. and Polyurethan coating after chemical (distilled water, ethyl alcohol. acetic acid, and sodium hydroxide) and heating ($120^{\circ}C$) treatments, cold-check test, and U.V. radiation. The results obtained were summarized as follows 1. The gloss decreasing rate by water resistance test was the least among chemicals treated on coated films. 2. The color difference of coated films chemical treatments highly and similarly increased, except the alkali treatment showing a little increase. 3. In the color difference by U.V. radiation, the polyester coated film showed generally large difference compared with the other coated films.

종이 도공용 고광택 유기안료의 적용에 관한 연구(제2보) -안료의 혼합비율이 도공층의 적층구조와 광학적 특성에 미치는 영향- (Studies on the Application of High-Gloss Plastic Pigment for Paper Coating(II) -Effect of Mixing Ratio of Pigment on the Packing Structure and Optical Properties of Coated Paper-)

  • The main objective of this study was to investigate the packing state and optical properties of coated paper prepared with different coating colors by varying the blending ratio of such pigment as clay, $CaCO_3$, and plastic pigment. To evaluate the effect of packing state of pigment on the properties of coated paper, the coating thickness, which was theoretically calculated by specific gravity, and packing volume of pigment were used. It was found that there exists close relationship between the coating thickness and surface property of coated paper. For instance, the macro roughness(smoothness) of coated paper is closely related to bulkiness. Plastic pigments used in this research has a high finishing efficiency on the light weight coatings. Especially, hollow sphere pigment was very effective for improving the property of coated paper produced in this test. And when HSP was blended with $CaCO_3$the surface property such as smoothness and gloss improved significantly.

  • This paper was performed to investigate the effect of pore structure on ink residual behavior. To prepare different coating structures as substrates against inks, fine, medium and coarse calcium carbonate were used in the coating color. It is well known ink properties can affect to print qualities. After printing on the coated paper, ink layer can consider as third structure addition to paper and coating layer. To compare effect of ink properties on the surface structure and print qualities, several properties of ink were also adopted as raw material. Particle size of pigment effect on gloss evaluation of coated paper increased with calendering. It was shown that ink transfer rate increased as surface of the sample was smooth. The ink contained low viscosity resin evaluated more print gloss. Finer pigment particle size, smaller pore size and higher porosity. Pore volume of coated paper was slightly decreased with printing as the coating was prepared with the finest particle size. However, it founded that ink resin could not affect on pore volume and distribution of printed paper

The Influence of Weathering Conditions on the Outer Membrane of Biogas with Plasticized PVC : A Study using Non-destructive Tests

  • The biogas holder is composed of an outer membrane and an inner membrane which are subject to outdoor exposure and gas exposure respectively. The influence of weathering conditions on the photo-degradation of a biogas holder was investigated. Tests were performed under three different methods - outdoor exposure tests (Seosan, Arizona), accelerated tests (Xenon-are lamp) with the outer-membrane of biogas. Moreover, the changes in the aging process were monitored using color difference, gloss, the contact angle and an optical microscope. Changes in physical properties, such as decrease reduction in gloss, decrease in the contact angle, increase in color difference were observed in the aging process. The comparison between membrane 3B, 4B and membrane 5B under xenon-arc were discussed. Membrane 5B was very sensitive to ultraviolet (UV) ray. There were many difficulties in the outdoor exposure test due to acid rain, dust, and stain resistance.

왁스를 함유한 자외선 경화형 코팅제의 경화 및 표면 물성 (Curing and Surface Properties of UV-curable Coating Containing Wax)

  • 본 연구는 왁스를 함유한 자외선 경화형 코팅제의 경화 물성, 표면 모폴로지, 코팅 표면 물성을 Photo-DSC, SEM, 진자경도, 연필경도 및 광택도를 이용하여 평가하였으며, 특히 왁스의 종류(파라핀 왁스, PE 왁스)에 따른 제반 코팅 물성을 조사하였다. 그 결과 왁스의 종류는 코팅 도막의 광택도와 표면 경도에 큰 영향을 주는 것으로 나타났으며, 유동성이 우수하며 부드러운 고체상의 파라핀 왁스를 사용한 경우에는 저광택의 소광성을 보여주었다. Photo-DSC의 ${\Delta}H$는 왁스를 함유한 코팅 시스템이 함유하지 않은 시스템 보다 높게 나타났는데, 특히 파라핀 왁스를 사용한 경우의 ${\Delta}H$가 PE 왁스를 사용한 경우에 비해 높게 나타났다. 이는 파라핀 왁스가 PE 왁스에 비해 더 효과적으로 공기 중의 산소를 차단하여 경화성이 높아진 것임을 의미한다. 또한 왁스의 산소 차단 효과는 경화속도와 밀접한 관계가 있는 것으로 확인되었다.

사출금형제품의 표면향상에 관한 연구 (A Study on Improvement of Surface Qualify in Injection Molded Parts)

  • Injection molded plastic parts have many surface defects. These include a weld line, sink mark, flow mark, gloss, shading, scratching etc. Because these surface faults are not aesthetically acceptable, plastic parts are produced through painting or texturing. The purpose of this paper is to develop paintless molded parts using a flow control method. Computer aided injection mold filling simulations were used in order to minimize the number of defects from injection molding. Based on the numerical results, FR(Flame Retardant) HIPS was developed and the guidelines for part design, mold design, and the processing conditions were established. The effects of cost savings, improvements in productivity, and recycling were considered by reducing the number of surface faults and eliminating the painting process.

CVD법을 이용한 적색 인조진주 코팅 및 제조 (Preparation and Coating of Red Colored Artificial Pearl by CVD Method)

  • 현대인의 눈높이에 맞는 친환경적인 고급품질의 인조진주 제품개발이 세계의 악세사리 및 생활용품 시장에서 요구되고 있다. 본 연구는 고품질의 인조진주 제품을 경제적으로 대량생산하기 위한 방법으로 유기안료를 인조진주 제조용 친환경 무기안료로 대체하고 기존 제조 방식에서 사용하는 주재료였던 니트로셀룰로오스를 우레탄 바인더로 대체하여 광택도가 73.4%에서 86.7%로 증가하였으며 CVD 마감처리 후에는 96%의 높은 광택도를 가졌다. 색차분석 결과 CVD 코팅으로 인하여 빛의 간섭효과 때문에 a*와 b*값이 각각 +37.7에서 +31.9로, +24.5에서 +14.2로 감소하면서 다양한 색을 발현하여 영롱한 빛깔의 인조진주가 제조되었다. 마감 증착된 고품질의 인조진주의 내화학성, 광택도, 색차계, 표면 거칠기, 내마모성, 중금속함량검사, 염수분무테스트 등을 분석하여 품질향상 및 인체 무해성을 확인하였다.

디스플레이용 유리의 눈부심 현상 억제를 위한 표면 에칭 및 돌기 형성에 관한 연구 (Study on surface etching and projection formation to control the glare of display glass)

  • 디스플레이용 유리를 통해 문자나 이미지를 뚜렷하고 빠르게 인식하기 위해서는 유리의 눈부심 현상(glare)을 억제해야 한다. 본 연구 연구에서는 에칭공정을 통해 유리 표면 형상 및 광학 특성 변화를 분석하여 눈부심 현상을 낮추고자 하였다. 에칭 공정은 에칭 용액인 BOE 및 HF의 농도를 변수로 수행하였다. 에칭과정에서 유리 표면에 F 이온이 포함된 화합물이 생성되어 돌기(projection) 형태로 불규칙한 패턴을 형성되었고, 이로 인해 유리의 광학적 특성이 변화되었다; 반사율은 2.5~4.6 %, 탁도는 4.5~6.6 %, 투과율은 77~9 2 %, 그리고 광택도는 82~107 GU 범위. 그 결과 유리의 눈부심 현상을 억제하면서도 다른 광학적 특성의 손실을 최소화하는 에칭 조건을 확보하였다.

  • Atmospheric plasma technology was utilized in order to modify surface characteristics of base paper for coating. Argon(Ar) and oxygen(O2) gases were used. It was found that contact angle of a water droplet was decreased with increasing voltage during plasma treatment, meaning that the hydrophilicity of paper surface was increased. On the other hand, the physical properties like roughness and optical properties such as gloss, brightness and opacity were not influenced by the plasma treatment. In conclusion, atmospheric plasma technology can be utilized to control hydrophilicity of paper surface without affecting physical properties of the paper.

적외선 열화상을 이용한 건축외장재의 일사표면온도와 흡수율 추정에 관한 실험적 연구 (An Experimental Study on the Estimation of Sol-air Temperature and Absorptance in Building Exterior Materials by Using the Infrared Image)

  • This study aims to investigate the method to reduce the surface temperature caused by insolation. To achieve this goal, surface temperature of building is measured and the effects of exterior material's color and brilliance were checked with infrared imaging. And also, exterior material's absorptances due to outdoor surface heat transfer coefficients were measured. After surface temperature measurement of 37 specimen of 5 categories, the temperature is the highest on wood($53.62^{\circ}C$) and panel($52.05^{\circ}C$). Dryvit, stone, brick is the rating of order. For exterior material's absorptances, panel(0.883) and wood(0.868) were high and Dryvit, stone, brick follows wood and panel.
