Grinding which is the final finishing step in the machining processes plays an important role fur precision manufacturing because it directly affect the product quality. Since the ground surface is affected by the states of grains and voids on the grinding wheel surface, the wheel should be dressed before the machined surface deteriorates over a quality limit. This paper describes a systematic approach to decide a proper dressing chance. A fabricated eddy current sensor and CCD camera are used to measure the loading on the working wheel surface and to visualize the wheel surface states respectively. The dressing chance can be properly decided through the relation between the variation of the thresholding image of the wheel and the machined surface roughness as the variation of the eddy current sensor output is greater than the detected value previously.

A compact model of tunnel field effect transistor (TFET) has been developed. The model includes a surface potentia calculation module and a band-to-band-tunneling current module. Model comparison with TCAD shows that the mode calculates TFET surface potential and drain current accurately.

In order to investigate the effects of pulse plating conditions on the electrodeposition of trivalent chromium, electroplating experiments from bath with low concentration of trivalent chromium were performed. The variation of current efficiency of chromium electroplating with the electroplating conditions was explained. The maximum current efficiency of pulse plating is 6.4 times as high as that of direct plating at the same mean current density The nodular size increased with pulse plating time and the pulse frequency.
Numerical analysis is conducted on the deformation of free surface of magnetic fluid. Steady magnetic fields are induced by a circular current loop. Governing equations of magnetic fields are solved by using the concept of vector potential. The free surface of magnetic fluid is formed by the balance of surface force, gravity, pressure difference, magnetic normal pressure and magnetic body force. The deformations of free surface of magnetic fluid are qualitatively clarified. And, the patterns of steady non-uniform magnetic fields induced by a circular current loop are quantitatively presented.
The displacement current measuring system used for detecting the dynamic behavior of monolayers at the air-water interface is described. It basically consists of a film balance, a pair of electrodes connected to each other through a sensitive ammeter. Here, one electrode is suspended in air and the other electrode is placed in the water. With Maxwell-displacement-current-measuring method, the phase transitons of Poly-$\gamma$-benzyl p-glutamate (PBDG) on a water surface were detected. Measured surface pressure, displacement current and dipole moment of monolayers of PBDG on the water surface. Also, we measured that compression velocity(30, 40, 50[mm/min]) when the sample spread volume was about 400[ul]. From the result, it is known that current is generated in the range of high surface pressures as compression velocity become faster.

In this study, we investigated the corrosion damage characteristics of steel for offshore wind turbine tower substructure using an accelerated electrochemical test. The galvanostatic corrosion test method was employed with a conventional 3 electrode cell in natural sea water, and the steel specimen was served as a working electrode to induce corrosion in an accelerated manner. Surface and cross-sectional image of the damaged area were obtained by optical microscope and scanning electron microscope. The weight of the specimens was measured to determine the gravimetric change before and after corrosion test. The result revealed that the steel tended to suffer uniform corrosion rather than localized corrosion due to active dissolution reaction under the constant current regime. With increasing galvanostatic current density, the damage depth and surface roughness of surface was increased, showing approximately 25 times difference in damage depth between the lowest current density ($1mA/cm^2$) and the highest current density ($200mA/cm^2$). The gravimetric observation showed that the weight loss was proportionally increased with increment of current density that has 75 times different according by experimental conditions. Consequently, uniform corrosion of the steel specimen was conveniently induced by the electrochemically accelerated corrosion technique, and it was possible to control the extent of the corrosion damage by varying the current density.

In this work, PEO (Plasma Electrolytic Oxidation) film formation behavior of Al6061 alloy was investigated as a function of applied current density of AC at 310 Hz in the range from $120mA/cm^2$ to $300mA/cm^2$ in 0.5 M $Na_2SiO_3$ solution. When applied current density is lower than a critical voltage of about $132mA/cm^2$, voltage reaches a steady-state values less than 120 V without generation of arcs and metallic color of the alloy surface remains. On the other hand, when applied current density exceeds about $132mA/cm^2$, voltage increases continuously with time and arcs are generated at more than 175 V, resulting in the formation of PEO films with grey colors. Two different types of arcs, large size and small number of arcs with orange color, and small size and large number of arcs with white color, were generated at the same time when the PEO film thickness exceeds about $50{\mu}m$, irrespective of applied current density. Formation efficiency of the PEO films was found to increase with increasing applied current density and the growth rate was obtained to be about $5{\mu}m/min$ at $300mA/cm^2$. It was also found that surface roughness of the PEO films with $70{\mu}m$ thickness is not dependent on the applied current density.

Anodizing of Al6061 alloy was conducted in two different electrolytes of 20% sulfuric acid and 8% sulfuric acid + 3 % oxalic acid solutions at a constant current or decreasing current density conditions, and its dielectric breakdown voltage was measured. The surface morphology of anodic oxide films was observed by TEM and thermal treatment was carried out at 400 ℃ for 2 h to evaluate the resistance of the anodic oxide films to crack initiation. The anodic oxide film formed in 8% sulfuric acid + 3 % oxalic acid solution showed higher dielectric breakdown voltage and better resistance to crack initiation at 400 ℃ than that formed in 20% sulfuric acid solution. The dielectric breakdown voltage increased 6 ~12% by applying decreasing current density comparing with a constant current density.

It was investigated that the effects of hydrogen charging on the properties of 590 MPa Dual Phase(DP) steels at the surface layers. The hydrogen-charging time was changed from 5 to 50 hours and current densities from 100, 150, and 200 $mA/cm^2$, respectively. It was found that the hydrogen content in the specimen was increased with as the charging time and the current density. The microvickers hardness of the subsurface zone was increased from 215.3 HV to 239.5 HV due to the increase in current density and charging time. The comparison of the absorbed energies tested by a small-punch (SP) test showed that the absorbed energy of the specimen was greatly reduced from 436 to 283 $kgf-mm^2$ because of hydrogen embrittlement. It was confirmed that bulb aspects of fracture surface became more brittle with increasing hydrogen content.
The Synthetic Aperture Radar (SAR) data are considered to contain the greatest amount of information among various microwave techniques developed for measuring ocean variables from aircraft or satellites. They have the potential of measuring wavelength, wave direction and wave height of the ocean waves. But, it is difficult to retrieve significant ocean wave heights and surface current from conventional SAR data, since the imaging mechanism of ocean waves by a SAR is determined by the three basic modulation processes arise through the tilt modulation, hydrodynamic modulation and velocity bunching which are poorly known functions. Along-Track Interferometric (ATI) SAR systems can directly detect the Doppler shift associated with each pixel of a SAR image and have been used to estimate wave fields and surface currents. However, the Doppler shift is not simply proportional to the component of the mean surface current. It includes also contributions associated with the phase velocity of the Brags waves and orbital motions of all ocean waves that are longer than Brags waves. In this paper, we have developed a new method for extracting the surface current vector using multiple-frequency (L- & C-band) ATI SAR data, and have generated surface wave height information.
