Free-surface flows with an arbitrary deformation, induced by a submerged hydrofoil, are simulated numerically, considering two-fluid flows of both water and air. The computation is performed by a finite volume method using unstructured meshes and an interface capturing scheme to determine the shape of the free surface. The method uses control volumes with an arbitrary number of faces and allows cell wise local mesh refinement. The integration in space is of second order, based on midpoint rule integration and linear interpolation. The method is fully implicit and uses quadratic interpolation in time through three time levels. The linear equations are solved by conjugate gradient type solvers, and the non-linearity of equations is accounted for through Picard iterations. The solution method is of pressure-correction type and solves sequentially the linearized momentum equations, the continuity equation, the conservation equation of one species, and the equations for two turbulence quantities. Finally, a comparison is quantitatively made at the same speed between the computation and experiment in which the grid sensitivity is numerically checked.
The surface molecular motion of monodisperse polystyrene (PS) films was examined using scanning vis-coelasticity microscopy (SVM) in conjunction with lateral force microscopy (LFM). The dynamic storage modulus, E', and loss tangent, $tan\delta$, at a PS film surface with number-average molecular weights, $M_n$, smaller than 30 k were found to be smaller and larger than those for the bulk sample, even at room temperature, meaning that the PS surface is in a glass-rubber transition or fully rubbery sate at this temperature when the $M_n$ is small. In order to quantitatively elucidate the dynamics of the molecular motion at the PS surface, SVM and LFM measurements were performed at various temperatures. The glass transition temperature, $T_g$, at the surface was found to be markedly lower than the bulk $T_g$, and this discrepancy between the surface and bulk became larger with decreasing $M_n$. Such an intensive activation of the thermal molecular motion at the PS surfaces can be explained in terms of an excess free volume in the vicinity of the film surface induced by the preferential segregation of the chain end groups.
This study examines the visual effects of surface design utilized in commercial space. In particular, 1 focus on the following three categories: transparency and lighting, electronic surface and media screen, and ubiquitous environments and interface. Unlike the past era in which surface design in commercial space was viewed merely as a means of decoration, it has become more important in the contemporary era because diverse expression techniques in surface design enormously help architects and interior designers embody their own ideas more effectively Moreover, the diversity of surface design expands the concept of cultural space as it provides various graphic elements that reflect human desire for multicultures.
Numerical analysis of two-fluid flows for both water and air is carried out. Free-Surface flows with an arbitrary deformation have been simulated around two dimensional submerged hydrofoil. In current paper, nonlocal (NLT), nonlocal strain gradient (NSGT) and Gurtin-Murdoch surface/interface (GMSIT) theories with classical theory (CT) are utilized to investigate vibration and stability analysis of Double Walled Piezoelectric Nanosensor (DWPENS) based on cylindrical nanoshell. DWPENS simultaneously subjected to direct electrostatic voltage DC and harmonic excitations, structural damping, two piezoelectric layers and also nonlinear van der Waals force. For this purpose, Hamilton's principle, Galerkin technique, complex averaging and with arc-length continuation methods are used to analyze nonlinear behavior of DWPENS. For this work, three nonclassical theories compared with classical theory CT to investigate Dimensionless Natural Frequency (DNF), pull-in voltage, nonlinear frequency response and stability analysis of the DWPENS considering the nonlocal, material length scale, surface/interface (S/I) effects, electrostatic and harmonic excitation.

In the present paper, a numerical method based on the constraint interpolation profile (CIP) method is applied for simulating two-dimensional violent sloshing problems. The free surface boundary value problem is considered as a multiphase problem which includes water and air. A stationary Cartesian grid system is adopted, and an interface capturing method is used to trace the shape of free surface profile. The CIP combined unified procedure (CCUP) scheme is applied for flow solver, and the tangent of hyperbola for interface capturing (THINC) scheme is used for interface capturing. Numerical simulations have been carried out for partially-filled 2D tanks under forced sway and roll motions at various filling depths and frequencies. The computational results are compared with experiments and/or the other numerical results to validate the present numerical method.

Surface characteristics of HA(hydroxyapatite) coated dental implant alloy by Sol-Gel method were investigated using potentiostat, ICP, SEM, EDX, EPMA and surface roughness tester. Surface roughness of HA coated specimen by Sol-Gel showed higher than that of PVD coated specimen. Corrosion resistance increased in the order of $1\%$ lactic acid, artificial saliva, $0.5\%$ HCI and $0.9\%$ NaCl solution. Amount of Ca element release was higher than that of V and P in the $0.5\%$ HCI and $0.9\%$ NaCl solution.

Changes of the surface and interface tension with temperature for washing liquids and alkanes were measured by FACE surface tensiometer. Using the extended Fowkes' equation, the dispersion and polar force components of the surface tension were estimated. The results were as follows : 1. The surface tensions of washing liquids and alkanes decreased almost linearly with the increase of temperature. 2. The interface tensions of 0.25% DBS/alkane increased slowly with the increase of temperature. In the case of nonionic surfactant solutions, however, the interface tensions with alkanes varied with the number of hydrophilic ethylene oxide(EO) groups. 3. Of the surface tension of water at $20^{\circ}C$, the dispersion force component was 25.3 dyn/cm and the polar force component was 47.8 dyn/cm. As the temperature increased, both the polar and dispersion force components decreased in a similar fashion. 4. The dispersion force component of surface tension of 0.25% DBS solution was 30.0 dyn/cm, and the polar force component was 2.2 dyn/cm at $20^{\circ}C$. The two components decreased with the increase of temperature. 5. As the temperature increased, the dispersion force component of surface tension decreased and the polar force component increased significantly for 0.25% NPPG-7.5EO solution. In the case of 025% NPPG-10EO, both the dispersion and polar force components decreased slowly, but the polar force component is expected to increase from $60^{\circ}C$. However, the polar force component of surface tension decreased with the increase of temperature for 025% NPPG-15EO solution, and at the temperature higher than $60^{\circ}C$ the surface tension is expected to be composed of only dispersion force component.

Due to the inherently poor adhesion strength of Cu-based leadframe/EMC (Epoxy Molding Compound) interface, popcorn cracking of thin plastic packages frequently occurs during the solder reflow process. In the present work, in order to enhance the adhesion strength of Cu-based leadframe/EMC interface, black-oxide layer was formed on the leadframe surface by chemical oxidation of leadframe, and then oxidized leadframe sheets were molded with EMC and machined to form SDCB (Sandwiched Double-Cantilever Beam) and SBN (Sandwiched Brazil-Nut) specimens. SDCB and SBN specimens were designed to measure the adhesion strength between leadframe and EMC in terms of critical energy-release rate under quasi-Mode I ($G_{IC}$ ) and mixed Mode loading ($G_{C}$ /) conditions, respectively. Results showed that black-oxide treatment of Cu-based leadframe initially introduced pebble-like X$C_2$O crystals with smooth facets on its surface, and after the full growth of $Cu_2$O layer, acicular CuO crystals were formed atop of the $Cu_2$O layer. According to the result of SDCB test, $Cu_2$O crystals on the leadframe surface did not increase ($G_{IC}$), however, acicular CuO crystals on the $Cu_2$O layer enhanced $G_{IC}$ considerably. The main reason for the adhesion improvement seems to be associated with the adhesion of CuO to EMC by mechanical interlocking mechanism. On the other hand, as the Mode II component increased, $G_{C}$ was increased, and when the phase angle was -34$^{\circ}$, crack Kinking into EMC was occured.d.
