엔트로피에 의한 공동주택의 급수사용량에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Amount of Supply Water Consumption by Entropy in APT)

  • The purpose of this study was to analyze water consumption in each apartment buildings influenced by several factors that are the income level of inhabitants, life style, the area apartments and climate. The automation of sanitary machines or facilities in recently built apartments has caused largely increases in amount of water consumption. Therefore, the design for water supply is very important for the maintenance of the optimum level or pressure of water supply. This study is based on the offer of basic data for improving the quality of water supply and employing the sanitary machines or sanitary facilities by analysis of amount increased of water consumption rapidly. Amount of water consumption data, the change in quality of entropy to the supply water pipe was analyzed and presented to indicate the necessary to basic materials for the design of an optimal water pipe.

한강수계 광역상수도 원수관의 지열 영향 조사 (Geothermal Effects on the Underground Water Conveyance Pipe System from Han River)

  • Geothermal effects on the underground water conveyance pipe system have been investigated through the multiregional water supply system from Paldang water intake station. To make an investigation of raw water thermal energy, temperature sensors are installed the surface of the pipes of metropolitan area water supply system. In 2009 winter and early spring seasons, the monthly averaged temperatures at Paldang 2 intake stations are $1.94^{\circ}C$ in February, $4.96^{\circ}C$ in March, and $10.56^{\circ}C$ in April. After the transfer in 26.0 km distance of tunnel and buried pipe, the raw water temperatures are raised to $3.13^{\circ}C$, $6.04^{\circ}C$, and $11.39^{\circ}C$ respectively. As the temperature difference between the raw water and the air reduces, the temperature increasement is reduced by $1.19^{\circ}C$ in Feb., $1.08^{\circ}C$ in Mar., and $0.83^{\circ}C$ in Apr. Since the flowrate is over 1,150,000 $m^3$/day, it is estimated that the water exchanges a huge amount of heat over 1.0 Tcal a day with the ground.

Crawling 방식을 이용한 관 탐사용 소형 로봇의 이동속도 해석 (Theoretical Velocity Analysis of Micro Robot Based on Crawling Locomotive Mechanism for Pipe Inspection Micro Robot)

  • Recently, the necessity for diagnosis and management of pipes has emerged as the issue due to contamination of water supply generated by corrosion of pipes. Although inspection has been performed with industrial endoscopes, the method has limits for full diagnosis of pipes due to the lack of working range. As a solution for this problem, many locomotive mechanisms for a micro robot with endoscope functions were proposed. In this paper, we analyze the locomotive mechanism of crawling robot proposed as locomotive device for pipe inspection. Based on a mechanical modeling of motor and micro robot inside small pipe, the theoretical formula for velocity is obtained. This derived theoretical formula is demonstrated the feasibility through the comparison with experimental result. Also, we could find the most important element influencing the moving velocity of micro robot when the robot operates in small pipe. Consequently, it is expected that this study can supply useful information to design of crawling robot to move in small pipe.

상수원 관망 부식 제어를 위한 부식성 수질 관리: 북미지역 관리 사례 및 국외 현황 (The Regulations and Guidelines for Management of Corrosive Water and Pipe Corrosion in Drinking Water Distribution System in North America)

  • Water distribution systems supply drinking water to consumers' taps. Internal corrosion of metallic pipe used in drinking water distribution systems has reduced water quality and led to increased levels of toxic heavy metals such as lead, copper and nickel. These problems have been experienced to varying degrees by water utilities in many countries. North America has successfully managed and controlled pipe corrosion and corrosive water in water distribution system based on various policies, regulations and rules. Practical and engineering guidelines for evaluation of pipe corrosion and determination of treatment options are also provided to assist drinking water supplies. In addition, the corrosion mechanism in water distribution systems, such as the complex effects of physical and chemical parameters on the corrosion pipes has been improved to accurately predict corrosion rates of metallic pipes in actual water distribution systems. This paper reviews various regulations, policy statement, and treatment produces on controlling corrosion in drinking water distribution systems in US and Canada and then offers suggestion for management of corrosive water and pipe corrosion in drinking water distribution system in Korea.

다단계 반복기법을 이용한 관로시스템의 최적관경 결정 (determination of Optimum Pipe diameter Using Multi-Stage Iterative Method in Water Distribution system)

  • 상수관망은 상수공급시스템에서 핵심적인 부분이다. 주어진 상수공급시스템에서 배수관망에 대한 비용은 사업전체 비용에 대한 대부분을 차지하고 있다. 관망에 대한 설계과정 중에서 최적화기법을 사용하여 비용을 절감하기 위한 연구가 시도되었다. 주어진 상수관망 시스템의 설계시 고려되는 관경의 결정을 위해 유량해석과 최적화 기법이 연계되어 해석하는 반복기법이 적용되었다. 유량해석을 위해서 선형화기법이 되입되었고 관경의 최적화를 위해서 선형계획법에 기초한 개정 단체법을 이용하였다. 22개 관로와 35개 관로를 가진 실제관망에 본 모형을 적용한 결과 짧은 계산시간으로 최적화된 상용관을 결정할 수 있었다.

Economic-based approach for predicting optimal water pipe renewal period based on risk and failure rate

  • This study suggests a method for calculating the benefits of water pipe renewal based on an estimate of the water supply suspension risk. The proposed method based on five benefit items is more direct and specific than other benefit estimation methods. In addition, a methodology evaluating the economics of pipe renewal based on pipe failure rate is proposed for estimating the optimal renewal point from an economic perspective. By estimating the optimal renewal period based on a yearly benefit cost ratio per pipe in a case study area, it was possible to draft an optimal renewal plan for the subject region from an economic perspective. Compared with other methodologies, a reasonable optimal renewal period was derived from an economic point of view. The result of this study may be used to develop future water pipe renewal plans. Moreover, the proposed methodologies and results derived from this study can be applied to asset management plans.

디스포저에 의한 음식물류폐기물 횡지관 유동성 평가 (Liquidity Evaluation on the Horizontal Branch Pipe Connected to a Food Waste Disposer)

  • This paper describes liquidity evaluation on the horizontal branch pipe connected to a food waste disposer and performance of five disposers marketed. Experimental apparatus for analyzing the five disposers has been introduced to measure vibration, sound level and power consumption of the disposers. Simulator for analyzing the required water velocity to avoid waste jam inside the pipe connected to a food waste disposer has been designed and constructed. The simulator can control some experimental parameters: pipe slope, disposer supply water quantity, food waste materials and operation time of a disposer. Throughout the experimental measurements of the disposers marketed, it is found that the time need to crash food waste is about 20 seconds on the average. At the same flow condition, increase rate of internal water velocity is accelerated as the pipe slope increases. The water velocity inside the pipe having 50 A and slope of 1/50 is 0.26 m/s when the water flowrate to supply the disposer is 16 l pm. Considering the specific gravity and adhesion property of food waste, water velocity of the horizontal branch pipe connected to a food waste disposer need to excess 0.26 m/s at least to avoid the waste blockage inside the pipe.

주변환경을 고려한 상수관망의 관 마찰손실계수 산정 (Predicting Flow Resistance Coefficients in Water Supply Mains)

  • 보다 효율적인 관로운영에 필수적인 통수능 변화 및 영향인자 산정을 위하여 국내 도송수강관에 대하여 124개의 Hazen Williams및 Darcy-Weisbach 마찰계수를 실측, 분석하였다. 그 결과 국내 도송수강관은 국외의 마찰계수 변화형태와 유사한 경향을 보이며 관경이 클수록 (Diameter>1100mm) 통수능은 관령에 많은 영향을 받으나 관경이 작을수록 관경과 관령에 동시에 영향을 받는다는 사실을 알았다. 또한 Hazen Williams의 C 값은 외국에 비해 약 5-10 정도 작은 것으로 나타났으며, 조도높이의 성장률은 약 0.41 mm/년으로 관의 통수능이 외국에 비해 빨리 저하한다는 사실이 밝혀져 그 원인 파악 및 통수능 산정기준을 재 검토해야 할 것으로 판단되었다. For the most efficient operation of water mains, 124 head losses in domestic water supply steel mains were measured to provide the values of friction coefficient and the variable affecting the deterioration rate of Hazen Williams' and Darcy-Weisbach's friction coefficient. The experimental results show that pipe age is governing the friction coefficient of large mains (Diameter > 1100 mm). On the other hands, pipe age and pipe diameter are affecting the variation of carrying capacity for small mains (Diameter < 1100 mm). The friction coefficient of water mains in foreign countries is higher than that in Korea by about 5 to 10 in Hazen Williams' C value. The growing rate of roughness height of domestic water main is about 0.41 mm/year which is higher than the average of United States of America. So further study is required to find out what causes the serious deterioration rate.

  • This study reports the results of the transient temperature response of a floor heating panel according to variation of the hot water supply temperature and the pipe embedding depth. Also, this experiment compares the temperature responses of floor heating panels under the continuous and intermittent heating system. Furtthermore, this study presents some details of the thermal response of Ondol-heated buildings to varying loads and patterns of heat input. The analysis of the thermal performance fo Ondol heating system have been presented.

  • The mixing method of water and chemicals is significant in a small-scale water supply system because drinking water should be supplied with a certain quantity of remaining chemicals maintained. In the present study, the concentration distribution and the mixing index were obtained from four models, which were to find out the optimal mixing method of water and chemicals. The two models brought the good mixing effects out of the four, one for providing chemicals from the center of water supply pipe and the other for setting up the semicircle block at the downstream of the chemicals-providing pipe. As a result, the mixing effect was found out to be increased due to the diffusion and the disturbance of flows. In conclusion, these results are expected to contribute to designing the optimal mixing system.
