This study analyzed whether the ontology-based information-searching model affected the ability of students to effectively search for meaningful information to carry out their projects. The experiment results illustrated that the amount of relevant information sought by the ontology-based information retrieval (OIR) method was significantly greater than that of the existing information retrieval (EIR) method. In addition, the relevance rate of the bookmarked documents sought by the OIR method was significantly greater than that of the EIR method. Interviews showed that the OIR model was helpful for students to effectively find information and thus, it helped them to complete the project more easily. Furthermore, the OIR model was beneficial for them to understand the subordinate concepts and their relationships for an important learning concept. The results of this study indicate that the OIR model could be used as a supplementary learning tool for project-based learning.
We analyze queueing model with priority scheduling by supplementary variable method. Customers are classified into two types (type-1 and type-2 ) according to their characteristics. Customers of each type arrive by independent Poisson processes, and all customers regardless of type have same general service time. The service order of each type is determined by the queue length of type-1 buffer. If the queue length of type-1 customer exceeds a threshold L, the service priority is given to the type-1 customer. Otherwise, the service priority is given to type-2 customer. Method of supplementary variable by remaining service time gives us information for queue length of two buffers. That is, we derive the differential difference equations for our queueing system. We obtain joint probability generating function for two queue lengths and the remaining service time. Also, the mean queue length of each buffer is derived.
We consider the M/G/1 queue with instantaneous feed-back. The probabilities of feedback are determined by the state of the underlaying Markov chain. by using the supplementary variable method we derive the generating function of the number of customers in the system. In the analysis it is required to calculate the matrix equations. To solve the matrix equations we use the notion of Ex-tended Laplace Transform.
The most popular building material, concrete, is intrinsically linked to the advancement of humanity. Due to the ever-increasing complexity of cementitious systems, concrete formulation for desired qualities remains a difficult undertaking despite conceptual and methodological advancement in the field of concrete science. Recognising the significant pollution caused by the traditional cement industry, construction of civil engineering structures has been carried out successfully using Geopolymer Concrete (GPC), also known as High Performance Concrete (HPC). These are concretes formed by the reaction of inorganic materials with a high content of Silicon and Aluminium (Pozzolans) with alkalis to achieve cementitious properties. These supplementary cementitious materials include Ground Granulated Blast Furnace Slag (GGBFS), a waste material generated in the steel manufacturing industry; Fly Ash, which is a fine waste product produced by coal-fired power stations and Silica Fume, a by-product of producing silicon metal or ferrosilicon alloys. This result demonstrated that GPC/HPC can be utilised as a substitute for traditional Portland cement-based concrete, resulting in improvements in concrete properties in addition to environmental and economic benefits. This study explores utilising experimental data to train artificial neural networks, which are then used to determine the effect of supplementary cementitious material replacement, namely fly ash, Ground Granulated Blast Furnace Slag (GGBFS) and silica fume, on the compressive strength, tensile strength, and modulus of elasticity of concrete and to predict these values accordingly.

We've run leveled intense and supplementary study groups connected with JAVA regular classes for more effective learning of computer programming. We performed the test for evaluating learning understanding degrees between before and after study to analyze learning effect for three leveled study groups and a non study group, and we also analyzed the differences of learning understanding degrees among 4 learner groups by computer programming areas. As a result, we can reach the result what programming areas are effective to be operated by intense and supplementary study groups. Those areas are the area to improve the ability of programming applying concepts through in-depth understanding of concepts, and the area of programming through mixed knowledges related each other. The study group for low-leveled learners has most improved of four groups. Low-leveled group was behind the other study groups on programming application ability, but the group was more excellent than non study group in most programming areas.
Degradation data can provide more reliability information than traditional failure-time data, especially products with few or no failures. This paper is concerned with a method of estimating lifetime distribution from field data with supplementary information on degradation data and covariates. When a distribution of degradation rate obtained by follow-up study for a portion of products that survive after-warranty follows a reciprocal-Weibull or lognormal distribution. A time-to-failure distribution of the product follows Weibull or lognormal distribution, respectively. A method of estimating lifetime parameters for this kind of data and their asymptotic properties are studied. Effects of after-warranty report probability, follow-up rate, and proportion of degradation data on pseudo maximum likelihood estimators of these parameters are investigated.

National Geographic Information Institute provides VRS service using permanent GPS networks. VRS-RTK(Virtual Reference System-Real Time Kinematic)GPS surveying which enable to accomplish the real time-based GPS surveying has been increasingly popular. However the positioning accuracy tends to deteriorate as the distance between the rover and base station increases in the VRS-RTK GPS surveying. To analysis this problem in this study, the accuracy of VRS-RTK data was analyzed with 2 different test sites of Geoje city, Gyeongnam province within and without the permanent GPS networks in order to accomplish the cadastral supplementary control surveying. As a result of surveying accuracy analysis at two test sites, positioning errors were ${\pm}0.03m$(RMSE) in both sites. The result was that within the tolerance specified in cadastral surveying law, and indicated the possibility of VRS-RTK GPS surveying in cadastral surveying.

This study was conducted to obtain basic materials to improve the teaching method of Home Economics by theoretically looking into the supplementary teaching materials or implements usable in teaching Costume History area. And based on these data, the types and the applications of the supplementary teaching materials or implements highschool owned were examined. The subjects of this study were 111 Home Economics and Housework curriculum highschool teachers who give a lecture in the country by using self-administered questionnaires. SAS program was used to calculate frequency, percentage, average, standard deviation, and $\chi$(sup)2-test analysis. The results of the study were as follows; 1. Most of the highschool teachers used the school expenses for experiments in preparing the supplementary teaching materials or implements. 2. Of the supplementary teaching materials and implements concerning Costume History, visual implements such as slides and pictures were the mostly owned. CD and audio implements as cassette-tapes were not used. 3. Most of the teachers recognized the importance of the audio-visual teaching materials and implements concerning Costume History. 4. Among the audio-visual materials and implements concerning Costume History by which can be made by school teachers of Home Economics and Housework curriculum, the mostly used one was ‘cutting pictorials from magazines and newspapers’, and the next were ‘orbital materials’, and ‘copy the pictorials’, and the least was ‘recording from the radio’. 5. Most of the annual expenses assigned to the department of Home Economics was used in cooking practice, and the least of the expenses was assigned in buying audio-visual teaching materials and implements. 6. Time assigned to the area of Home Economics was for the most part one or two hours per week, and among this, time assigned to the history of western costume and the history ok korean costume was for the most part five to eight hours. 7. The areas that the highschool teachers felt difficulties mostly during clothing and textiles curriculum were ‘textiles’and the next were ‘knitting’, ‘western costume history’, and ‘korean clothing construction’. 8. The difficulties the highschool teachers faced while teaching Costume History were mostly that ‘the pictorials in the text is not fully explainable’, the next were ‘most of the supplementary teaching materials or implements are not owned’, ‘have to explain very much in a short time’, and ‘the lectural explanation is insufficient’. 9. The solution for the difficulties that the highschool teachers faced while teaching Costume History was mostly ‘the information, on which audio-visual materials and implements are distributed in the market, should be easy to obtain’, the next opinions were ‘the school should provide enough experiment and practice expenses to buy audio-visual materials and implements’, and ‘education facilities of the Home Economics Department should be the main aspects in improving the teaching methods and should give special lectures about it’.
A survey of infant practices was conducted to provide information on which to base planned nursing interventions. The subjects were a convenience sample of 168 mothers visiting out - patients departments of five general hospitals and one public health center in Seoul for immunizations or treatment for common colds for their infants from two to 12 months of age. Data collection was carried out from July 8th to September 30th, 1991 using a questionnaire of 84 questions, 31 on the type of feeding, 22 on supplementary feeding and 21 on demographic infer mation. The results are summarized as follows : 1) The type of feeding was primarily artificial feed-ing (63.1%), followed by mixed feeding (22%) and breast feeding (14.9%) of the 59 mothers expecting during pregnancy to breast feed, 54. 2% changed artificial feeding and 30.5% went on to breast feed as they had expected. For mothers expecting to continue breast feeding over seven months. only one infant was being breast fed for over seven months. 2) For the 106 mothers using artificial feeding, 70. 8% hed attempted breast feeding, 64% of them for less than a month. Breast milk had been suppressed by for medication (38.7%) : 34.9% had used no specia] means. 3) The major reasons for replacing breast feeding with artificial feeding were the infants' demand for more milk (47.2% ) and insufficient supply of breast milk (49.3%). 4) Most mixed feeding was started at the age of one to three months (59.5%). Only 34.4% gave an artificial feeding after breast feeding : most (46%) alternated breast feeding with artificial feeding. On the whole, the motive for mixed feeding was the lack of breast milk (70.3%). 5) Many mothers (81.8%) were adding vitamin or mineral supplements to artificial milk and 51.5% were adding something to faciliate digestion. As for the method of sterilizing milk bottles and nipples, 56% had sterilized them together in boiling water from the beginning : 27% were just washing the bottles after boiling only once initially when measuring artificial milk powder, 31. 5% of the mothers over filled the measuring spoon rather than to the level. 6) The mother's occupation was related to her way of feeding. Mothers at home full time did more breast feeding than mothers employed outside the home. (x²=5.72, p=〈0.05). 7) Most mothers began supplementary food, from three to four months (48.8%) : 11.2% began later than seven months. Supplementary food was given between milk feedings by 67.2% of the mothers : 19.2% gave it before a milk feeding. Some mothers(26.4%) made their own supplementary food : 19.2% used ready - made supplementary food products for convenience. Recommendations for nursing interventions included : 1. Prenatal education about the advantages of breast feeding and breast care, and home visits after delivery for counselling related to breast feeding. Correct preparation of artificial feeding methods need to be taught in both pre & postnatal periods. In addition, specific education about supplementary feeding needed. 2. Further research is indicated about the Perceived lack of supply of breast milk and about the effectiveness of nursing interventions to Promote breast feeding.
The purpose of this study is to investigate the characteristics of problem solving strategies that gifted students use in science inquiry problem. The subjects of the study are the notes and presentation materials that the 15 team of elementary and junior high school students have solved the problem. They are a team consisting of 27 elementary gifted and 29 middle gifted children who voluntarily selected topics related to dimple among the various inquiry themes. The analysis data are the observations of the subjects' inquiry process, the notes recorded in the inquiry process, and the results of the presentations. In this process, the knowledge related to dimple is classified into the declarative knowledge level and the process knowledge level, and the strategies used by the gifted students are divided into general strategy and supplementary strategy. The results of this study are as follows. First, as a result of categorizing gifted students into knowledge level, six types of AA, AB, BA, BB, BC, and CB were found among the 9 types of knowledge level. Therefore, gifted students did not have a high declarative knowledge level (AC type) or very low level of procedural knowledge level (CA type). Second, the general strategy that gifted students used to solve the dimple problem was using deductive reasoning, inductive reasoning, finding the rule, solving the problem in reverse, building similar problems, and guessing & reviewing strategies. The supplementary strategies used to solve the dimple problem was finding clues, recording important information, using tables and graphs, making tools, using pictures, and thinking experiment strategies. Third, the higher the knowledge level of gifted students, the more common type of strategies they use. In the case of supplementary strategy, it was not related to each type according to knowledge level. Knowledge-based learning related to problem situations can be helpful in understanding, interpreting, and representing problems. In a new problem situation, more problem solving strategies can be used to solve problems in various ways.
