BiPbSrCaCuO 초전도 벌크의 Magnetic Suspension (Magnetic Suspension Effect of BiPbSrCaCuO Superconducting Bulk)

  • Magnetic suspension effect has been studied by using superconductor of BiPbSrCaCuO ceramics containing Ag$_2$O. Magnetic flux measurements of a toroidal magnet revealed a concave shaped field distribution with a null field along the axis of the torus at the point where the field reversed. The suspension effect was observed only for the Ag$_2$O doped and field cooled sample which is attributed to the enhanced flux pinning due to the field cooled condition. It has been cleared that Ag$_2$O acts as pinning center which plays an important role to the magnetic suspension effect. Magnetic repulsive force which affects a superconductor located in magnetic flux from toroidal magnet has been investigated. It has been concluded that the magnetic suspension effect arises from the interaction between the pinning effect and the diamagnetic effect.

  • BiSrCaCuO(2223) superconductor was fabricated by the thermal pyrolysis method. The superconducting precursor produced by the dehydration of the gel at $120^{\circ}C$ for 12 h is not in the amorphous state as expected but in a crystalline state. In this paper, the establishment of fabrication condition was examined so as to improve the related properties to the practical use of BiSrCaCuO superconductor, and we reported the production of the BiSrCaCuO by the pyrolysis method.

저항형 초전도 한류기에서의 퀀치 전파 (Quench propagation in resistive SFCL)

  • We fabricated resistive superconducting fault current limiters based on YB $a_{2}$/C $u_{3}$/ $O_{7}$ thin films and investigated their quench propagation characteristics. The YB $a_{2}$/C $u_{3}$/ $O_{7}$ films was coated with a gold layer and patterned into 1 mm wide meander lines by photolithography. The quench was concluded to start locally and propagates until completed. The quench propagation characteristics were explained based on the heat transfer within the film as well as between the film and the surrounding liquid nitrogen. The quench completion time depended strongly on potential fault current amplitude and not significantly on fault angle which indicates that the quench propagation speed is affected more by heat dissipation rate than by fault current increase rate. The quench completion time was 1 msec at the fault current of 65 $A_{peak/{\ak}}$.

  • For the development of superconducting power apparatus, it is necessary to establish the dielectric technology in coolant like L$N_2$. Therefore in this paper we conducted experiment of surface flashover that could occur in the windings of HTS transformer which will be developed in the pancake coil type. First, we distinguished two types of surface flashover by electrode alignment, such as parallel and vertical, and then compared with each characteristics of surface flashover. The flashover voltage was more affected by thickness of spacer than by surface length when the thickness of spacer is over 1 mm. And the surface flashover with metallic particle attached on the spacer was tested, it was affected by the particle position. The more close to the electrodes, the worse the characteristics. Also the experiment was conducted when the electrode was immersed in liquid nitrogen(L$N_2$) partially. The surface flashover characteristics of spacer was, when immersed partially in 50%, rapidly decreased.

  • NdBaCuO thin films were prepared on $SrTiO_{3}$ substrates by RF magnetron sputtering. These as-grown films were classified into 3type. The resistivity of the deposited films are usually lower than of the YBCO film. The Tc (onset) and Tc (R=0) in the optimized thin films are as high as 90 and 80K, respectively. These as-grown films are highly uniform and semi-trans parent and have a room temperature resistivity of $0.3m{\Omega}cm$.

  • Recent development in the field of RE-Ba-Cu-O (REBCO, RE: Y or rare earth elements) bulk high-Tc superconductors (HTS) is reviewed in the present paper. After the fatal weak link problem of sintered REBCO superconductors has been overcome by melt processing, this field has been greatly advanced during last ten years. The critical current density $J_c$ at 77 K has been enhanced by introducing effective flux pinning sites into the $REBa_2Cu_3O_y$ (RE123) superconducting matrix. Large melt-textured REBCO bulk crystals have been fabricated with the TSMG(top-seeded melt growth) technique. Mechanical properties of REBCO bulks have been improved by using the Ag additive or epoxy resin. Real bulk applications such as current lead, fault current limiter, flywheel energy storage system, magnetic field source, magnetic separation system, and etc., surely come true near future.

  • Transient magnetic diffusion process in a melt-cast BSCCO-2212 tube is analyzed by an analytical method. The transient diffusion equation is transformed into an ordinary differential equation by integral method. The penetration depth of magnetic field into a superconducting tube is obtained by solving the differential equation numerically. The results show that the penetration depth as a function of time which is somewhat different from the results by Bean's critical current model. The reason of the difference between the present results and that of Bean's model is discussed and compared in this paper.

  • The electrical and mechanical properties of dielectric paper and cable at cryogenic temperature have been investigated to optimum insulating design of high-Tc superconducting(HTS) cable. From the results, Tensile strength of PPLP in liquid nitrogen was high more than that of air, but tensile strain could know that decrease sharply. According as tensile strength increases, the breakdown stress of PPLP in liquid nitrogen was decreased because PPLP was degradated. According as bending radius multiple is decrese, breakdown voltage decreased sharply. And bending radius multiple is thought that more than about 25 is suitable.

  • The YBaCuO thick film was deposited by the electrophoresis in the solution with different dimension particles. The morphology of the films deposited from different particles size was compared. The powder made by sol-gel method has the submicron particles, which deposit the most smooth film, and without microcracks after sintering. After sintering of the deposited film, the zone-melting process was carried out in low oxygen partial pressure (100 Pa) and Ag was used as substrate. And the zone-melted YBaCuO was studied by XRD.
