ON THE FIRST GENERALIZED HILBERT COEFFICIENT AND DEPTH OF ASSOCIATED GRADED RINGS

  • Let (R, m) be a d-dimensional Cohen-Macaulay local ring with infinite residue field. Let I be an ideal of R that has analytic spread ℓ(I) = d, satisfies the Gd condition, the weak Artin-Nagata property AN-d-2 and m is not an associated prime of R/I. In this paper, we show that if j1(I) = λ(I/J) + λ[R/(Jd-1 :RI+(Jd-2 :RI+I):R m)] + 1, then I has almost minimal j-multiplicity, G(I) is Cohen-Macaulay and rJ(I) is at most 2, where J = (x1, , xd) is a general minimal reduction of I and Ji = (x1, , xi). In addition, the last theorem is in the spirit of a result of Sally who has studied the depth of associated graded rings and minimal reductions for m-primary ideals.

천연 제올라이트와 제올라이트 담체를 이용한 NH4+-N 이온교환 특성 평가 (Evaluation of NH4+-N Ion Exchange Property using Natural Zeolite and Zeolite Carrier)

  • The ammonium ion exchange characteristics of natural zeolite were investigated to remove ${NH_4}^+-N$. The effect of water temperature, particle size and competitive cation on the exchange capacity was examined. Ammonium ion exchange capacity tended to decrease when the temperature increased from $25^{\circ}C$ to $40^{\circ}C$. Exchange capacity was increased according to the particle size of natural zeolite comes to be small. Batch isotherm experiments were conducted for measuring ammonium ion exchange capacity. The ion exchange capacity was well described either by the Langmuir isotherm model or by the Freundlich isotherm model. The ammonium ion exchange capacity ($q_m$) of zeolite carrier can be calculated $11.744mg-{NH_4}^+/g$-carrier. The ion exchange capacity of manufactured zeolite carrier was showed a similar tendency as ion exchange capacity of powder-sized natural zeolite. Therefore, zeolite carrier can be used for increasing of nitrogen removal efficiency in the wastewater treatment plants.

SNG 선회 안정화 화염구조 가시화를 위한 OH* 자발광 이미지 역변환에서 전처리 효과 (Effect of a Preprocessing Method on the Inversion of OH* Chemiluminescence Images Acquired for Visualizing SNG Swirl-stabilized Flame Structure)

  • Flame structure, which contains a useful information for studying combustion instability of the flame, is often quantitatively visualized with PLIF (planar laser-induced fluorescence) and/or chemiluminescence images. The latter, a line-integral of a flame property, needs to be preprocessed before being inverted, mainly due to its inherent noise and the axisymmetry assumption of the inversion. A preprocessing scheme utilizing multi-division of ROI (region of interest) of the chemiluminescence image is proposed. Its feasibility has been tested with OH PLIF and $OH^*$ chemiluminescence images of SNG (synthetic natural gas) swirl-stabilized flames taken from a model gas turbine combustor. It turns out that the multi-division technique outperforms two conventional ones: those are, one without preprocessing and the other with uni-division preprocessing, reconstructing the SNG flame structure much better than its two counterparts, when compared with the corresponding OH PLIF images. It is also found that the Canny edge detection algorithm used for detecting edges in the multi-division method works better than the Sobel algorithm does.

  • $BaMgAl_{10}O_{17}:Eu^{2+}$ for PDP blue phosphor was synthesized using SHS(Self-propagating High temperature Synthesis) method. While Al metal powder was oxidized in this combustion, $Eu_{2}O_3$ was reduced to Eu2+. Therefore the mole ratio of $Al/Al_{2}O_3$ is one of the most important variable of the reaction. When $Al/Al_{2}O_3$ is 2.5/3.75, it has not only appropriate temperature and reaction velocity, but also excellent luminescent property. The sample synthesized in this system has similar characteristics comparing to sample using conventional solid-state reaction.

Role of NH4 and H2O in Tutton Salt (NH4)2M(SO4)2·6H2O (M=Fe and Zn) Single Crystals Studied by 1H and 14N NMR at High Temperatures

  • At high temperature, the roles of $NH_4$ and $H_2O$ in $(NH_4)_2Fe(SO_4)_2{\cdot}6H_2O$ and $(NH_4)_2Zn(SO_4)_2{\cdot}6H_2O$ single crystals were investigated using a pulse NMR spectrometer. Temperature was shown to have a significant influence, causing changes in the deformation of $NH_4$ and $H_2O$. From the $^1H$ NMR and $^{14}N$ NMR spectrum, the forms of environment surrounding $^{14}N$ in $NH_4$ groups is more important than the loss of $H_2O$ groups. NMR studies indicate that $NH_4{^+}$ ions in Tutton salts play an important role in the changes of the crystal structure at high temperatures.

Structural nature of chemically inequivalent borons in the nonlinear optical material β-BaB2O4 studied using 11B MAS NMR and 11B single-crystal NMR

  • Detailed information about the structural nature of three-coordinate borons in ${\beta}-BaB_2O_4$ is obtained through $^{11}B$ MAS NMR and $^{11}B$ single-crystal NMR. The three-coordinate $BO_3$ of the two borons B(1) and B(2) in ${\beta}-BaB_2O_4$ were distinguished. The spin-lattice relaxation time in the laboratory frame $T_1$ for B(1) and B(2) slowly decreases with increasing temperature, whereas the spin-lattice relaxation time in the rotating frame $T_{1{\rho}}$ for B(1) and B(2), which differs from $T_1$, is nearly constant. The B(1) and B(2) of the two types were distinguished by $^{11}B$ MAS NMR and $^{11}B$ single-crystal NMR.

PECVD를 이용한 DLC 박막의 표면 마모 특성 향상을 위한 플루오린 첨가의 영향 (Effect of fluorine gas addition for improvement of surface wear property of DLC thin film deposited by using PECVD)

  • In this study, DLC films deposited by PECVD were evaluated to the properties of super-hydrophobic by CF4 treatment. The structure of DLC films were confirmed by Raman Spectra whether or not mixed sp3 (like diamond) peak and sp2 (like graphite) peak. And the hydrogen contents in the DLC films (F-DLC) were measured by RBS analysis. In addition, DLC films were analyzed by scratch test for adhesion, nano-indentation for hardness and tribo-meter of Ball-on-disc type for friction coefficient. In the result of analysis, DLC films had traditional structure regardless of variation of hardness at constant conditions. Also adhesion of DLC film was increased as higher material hardness. Otherwise, friction coefficient was increased as lower material hardness. The DLC films were treated by CF4 plasma treatment to enhance the properties of super-hydrophobic. And the DLC films were measured by ESEM(Enviromental Scanning Electron Microscope) for water condensation.

시뮬레이션을 통한 레이저 융삭 추진의 우주 쓰레기 제거 응용 가능성 연구 (Research on Applicability of Laser Ablation Propulsion to Space Debris Removal by Simulations)

  • Laser ablation propulsion(LAP) is the method to create impulse by laser ablation. It can be used to deorbit the space debris(SD), as its long-range property and versatility on any material. In this paper, we find out several requirements of the LAP system(LAPS) to deorbit the SD by simple numerical calculations of the SD orbit and laser beam flux. As a result, minimum operable altitude angle turned out to be a crucial variable to the LAPS. Moreover, if minimum operable altitude angle is 10°, and if the minimum distance between the LAPS and the SD is below 450 km, 1 m/s2 is sufficient to deorbit the SD by once. With 18 kJ/3 ns pulsed laser and cube shaped 100 kg SD, 1 m/s2 acceleration can be achieved by increasing the pulse repetition rate over 34~53 Hz, depending on the size of the SD. This capability could compare with the conceptual design of the Japan Establishment for a Power-laser Community Harvest(J-EPoCH) facility, which include 8 kJ, 5 PW@100 Hz laser.

금속층 두께에 따른 ITO/Ag/ITO 다층 투명 전극의 발열 특성 연구 (A Study on the Exothermic Properties of ITO/Ag/ITO Multilayer Transparent Electrode Depending on Metal Layer Thickness)

  • In this study, we investigated the optical, electrical and exothermic characteristics of ITO/Ag/ITO multilayer structures prepared with various Ag thicknesses on quartz and PI substrates. The transparent conducting properties of the ITO/Ag/ITO multilayer films depended on the thickness of the mid-layer metal film. The ITO/Ag (14 nm)/ITO showed the highest Haccke's figure of merit (FOM) of approximately 19.3×10-3 Ω-1. In addition, the exothermic property depended on the substrate. For an applied voltage of 3.7 V, the ITO/Ag (14 nm)/ITO multilayers on quartz and PI substrates were heated up to 110℃ and 200℃, respectively. The bending tests demonstrated a comparable flexibility of the ITO/Ag/IT multilayer to other transparent electrodes, indicating the potential of ITO/Ag/ITO multilayer as a flexible transparent conducting heater.
