  • Blood eosinophilia can be classified as either familial or acquired. Familial eosinophilia is a rare autosomal dominant disorder characterized by a stable eosinophil count. Acquired eosinophilia is classified further into a primary or secondary phenomenon depending on whether eosinophils are considered integral to the underlying disease. Primary eosinophilia is considered clonal in the presence of either a cytogenetic abnormality or bone marrow histological evidence of classified hematologic malignancies. Causes of secondary eosinophilia include infections, allergic or immunologic disorders, and drugs. Idiopathic eosinophilia belongs to a category of primary eosinophilia, and this is a diagnosis of exclusion. Cases with eosinophilia that lack evidence of clonality may be diagnosed as idiopathic hypereosinophilic syndrome after all causes of reactive eosinophilia have been eliminated. Genetic mutations involving the platelet-derived growth receptor genes (PDGFRA and PDGFRB) have been pathogenetically linked to clonal eosinophilia, and their presence predicts the treatment response to imatinib. In this review, I will present a clinical summary of both familial and acquired eosinophilia with emphasis on recent developments in molecular pathogenesis and treatment.

  • The objective of this study is to find out the below mentioned answers including main determinants of FDI in India by Korean firms. Which factors can attract Korean companies to invest in India ? What will be the lessons for Korean companies which are willing to invest in India, in the near future ? What will be the recommendations for Indian governments to attract more and more Korean firms ? In summary, it is clear that Indian market potentials(or attractiveness) and production factors as locational factors are found to be the most important determinants of FDI in India.

  • This paper examines some reasons of TQM failures and offers a model for evaluating the relationships between different TQM tools and techniques and the organizational culture and competitive strategy. The proposed model is based on the concept of quality function deployment and utilizes a modified house of quality. The compatibility of TQM tools and techniques with the organizational culture can be rated by this model. The model is validated by the case of H medium-sized manufacturing company Finally the implications of the case and the summary of this paper are presented.

  • Kim and Baek (2000) tested the spatial randomness for he earthquake occurrence in the Korean Peninsula by using the nearest-neighbor test statistics and empirical distribution functions. The K-function, however, has obvious advantages over the methods used in Kim and Baek (2000), such as it does not depend on the shape of the study region and is an effective summary of spatial dependence over a wide range of scales. We applied the K-function method for testing the randomness to both of the historical and the instrumental seismicity data. It was found that he earthquake occurrences for historical and instrumental seismicity data are not random and clustered rather than scattered.

  • Summary: The analysis of human genetic variation is one of the key issues far the understanding of the different drug response among individuals and many programs are developed for this purpose. However, current publicly available programs have so many limitations such as time complexity problem for the analysis of large amount of alleles or SNPs, difficult manipulation for installation, data import, and usage, and low-quality visual output. Here we present workbench for SNP anlaysis, SNPAnalyzer. SNPAnalyzer consists of 3 main modules: 1)Hardy-Weinberg Equilibrium ,2) Haplotype Estimation, and 3) Linkage Disequilibrium. Each module has several different widely-used algorithms for the extensive analysis and can handle large amount of alleles and SNPs with simple format. Analysis results are displayed in user-friendly formats such as table, graph and map. SNPAnalyzer is developed using C and C$^{++}$ and users can easily access through web-interftce. Availability: SNPAnalyzer can be freely implemented at http://www.istech.info/istech/board/login_form.jsp

  • Recent technology advancement related to computer & communication and measuring devices allows system operators to adopt more intelligent monitoring and control systems to their power systems in order to prevent massive system blackout. Among them, wide-area monitoring and control(WAMAC) system based on synchro-phasor technology has been widely applied to power systems for their own purposes. In this paper, the study on the development of load shedding scheme to improve voltage stability in KEPCO system is introduced. Summary of WAMAC technology being developed and applied in the world through extensive literature survey is proposed. And methodology to develop voltage stability index and multi-step load shedding scheme based on synchro-phasor data is also presented.

  • The purpose of this study is to suggest specific function of each areas and way to express reasonable interior elements within interior design of sports center in Korea. The method of this research is case study of sports center In various fields since 1980. During the study, it Is very clear that the most important points in designing of sports centers interior space to accomodate main body training areas and service area for the users. The other point is to explain within the space plan that there should be a clear understanding of general regulation for the installation element, function and behavioral facts. The social, cultural roles of sports center must have the function as a multi service facility. In summary this research is to present datas and suggestion to various areas in sports center and refine its new meaning of sports center space plan with much better designing.

  • Currently, dissection of the axillary or regional lymph nodes is considered the standard staging procedure in breast cancer. However, accumulating evidence is becoming available that the sentinel node concept may provide the same or even better staging information. In the case of melanoma, it is proven that the histological characteristics of the sentinel node reflect the histological characteristics of the distal part of the lymphatic basin. Morbidity can be reduced significantly by the use of sentinel node dissection as several authors have reported successful introduction of this technique into clinical practice. But in breast cancer patients, there are signigicant differences in practice relating to the technology, such as radiopharmaceuticals, injection sites, volume of injectate, combination with vital blue dye, preoperative lymphoscintigraphy, etc. Valuable reports on these topics appeared in recent journals. This review is a summary of those reports for nuclear physicians interested in sentinel node detection by lymphoscintigraphy in breast cancer patients.

  • In the past few decade's researchers, scientists, engineers of photovoltaic (PV) industry are working towards low cost high efficiency Si solar cells. Over the last decade the interest in back contact solar cell has been acquiring as well as a gradual introduction to industrial applications is increasing. As an alternative to conventional solar cells with a front and rear contact, the back-contact cells has remained a research topic. The aim of this work is to present a comprehensive summary of results incurred in the back contact back junction solar cells such as interdigitated back-contact (IBC), emitter wrap-through (EWT) and metallization wrap-through (MWT) over the years.

  • The evaluation of Conflict detection and Resolution Algorithms require the use of analytical that describe encounter flight safety and the costs and benefits of optimization maneuver. A number of such algorithms have been applied in the past to the free flight. Each algorithm has benefits and limitations, and flight safety may be facilitated by combining the best features of various techniques. This paper studied a summary of conflict detection and resolution algorithm approaches. Algorithm techniques are categorized and the fundamental assumptions, capabilities, and limitations of each approach are described. The Algorithms are evaluated and compared based on their applicability to free flight airspace conflict situations.
