Most statistical methods are dependent on the summary statistic. However, with graphical approaches, it is easier to identify the characteristics of the data and detect information that cannot be obtained by the summary statistic. We present various graphical methods to assess the adequacy of models in logistic regression that include checking log-density ratio, structural dimension, marginal model plot, chi-residual plot, and CERES plot. Through simulation data, we investigate and compare the results of graphical approaches under diverse conditions.

Objectives : This paper provides a general introduction of a person Seopa Lee-yidoo and the contents of his medical text, Uigamsanjeonyogyul. The paper then investigates how this text summarized and recomposed Donguibogam. Methods : The paper first reviews the activities and academic leanings of Lee-yidoo, the author of Uigamsanjeonyogyul, as described in his book Seopa-munjip. Furthermore, the paper compares Donguibogam and Uigamsanjeonyogyul's process of summarizing Donguibogam. Based on this the paper divides these comparisons and introduces examples. Results : When the overall composition, formation, and the original contents of Uigamsanjeonyogyul were compared with the texts of Donguibogam, it was discovered that the former wholly accepted the composition of the latter but made bold summarizations. Meanwhile, Uigamsanjeonyogyul added a detailed list of contents at the beginning of the book, and its original contents provided integration, relocation, and detailed explanations of Donguibogam two sections. It gave changes to bogam's prescription configuration and explanations on the mechanism of diseases, and it also added a section for new prescriptions. Like this, Uigamsanjeonyogyul showed a great deal of knowledge regarding the clinical field. Conclusions : Uigamsanjeonyogyul which was published as a summary of Donguibogam, faithfully follows the texts of Donguibogam. At the same time, it provides summary, improvement, and rearrangement based on the author's academic leanings.

Systems biology has recently become an important research paradigm that is anticipated to decipher the metabolic, regulatory, and signaling networks of complex living organisms on the whole organism level. Thus, various research outputs are being generated, along with the development of many tools and resources for systems biology research. Accordingly, this review provides a comprehensive summary of the current resources and tools for systems biology research that will hopefully be helpful to researchers involved in this field. The resources are categorized into the following five groups: genome information and analysis, transcriptome and proteome databases, metabolic profiling and metabolic control analysis, metabolic and regulatory information, and software for computational systems biology. A summary table and some future perspectives are also provided.

In this paper, we describes a system that extracts important sentences from Korean newspaper articles using automatic paragraphing. First, we detect repeated words between sentences. Through observation of the repeated words, this system compute Closeness Degree between Sentences(CDS ) from the degree of morphological agreement and the change of grammatical role. And then, it automatically divides a document into meaningful paragraphs using the number of paragraph defined by the user´s need. Finally. it selects one representative sentence from each paragraph and it generates summary using representative sentences. Though our system doesn´t utilize some features such as title, sentence position, rhetorical structure, etc., it is able to extract meaningful sentences to be included in the summary.

1. Objectives: The purpose of this study is to find the association between personality pattern and quality of life according to Sasang Constitution. 2. Methods: The 529 subjects whose constitutions had been confirmed by the experts on the base of drug response were recruited. Personality questionnaire was composed of 15 personal characteristics items measuring the influence of yin/yang and health estimating instrument was SF-12 evaluating the quality of life. Two-way ANOVA was conducted to analyze the Sasang Constitutional difference according to personality pattern. 3. Results: There were 5 different items in PCS(physical component summary), 7 different items in MCS(mental component summary). The individual scores of 3 items - give up easily/stand, decide easily/hard and be exited easily/rationalwere different according to the Sasang Constitution. 4. Conclusions: We suggest that psychological factors may affect the health state, especially might affect the health state of Sasang Constitution differently.

As the span of spatial structure is getting longer, the law frequency of the structure makes the wind-induced response much increased. However, there are lots of hardships to establish the economical structural systems due to the fact that an relative equation between the frequency and the span of the domestic spatial structures is not existed in the stage of the basic planning design. Therefore, among the large-span structures, this paper focused on the relationship between the frequency and the span of the world-cup stadium built in 2000s. The relative equation between the frequency and span is compared with the data measured in Japan. Moreover, we are willing to provide the basic study by suggesting the summary equation in this paper.

A certain number of products are sold each month and some of them are returned for repair. In this study both return rate and cumulative return rate are shown on the graph to show the general trend of how many products are returned as time goes by. Next this type of summary data can be considered as a conglomeration of both left and right censored data. So reliability analysis is attempted for this type of summary data. Lastly, left censored data can be traced to find the exact time period during which the product has been claimed. In that case the left censored data can be taken as failure data. So similar type of reliability analysis is attempted for the resulting right censored data.

Purpose: This study was done to examine the relationship of low urinary tract symptoms (LUTS), depression, sexual function, and health-related quality of life (HRQoL), and to identify factors influencing HRQoL in patients with benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH) living in the community. Methods: A total of 218 patients with BPH were recruited into the study. The data were collected by personal interviews using questionnaires and were analyzed with SPSS (version 17.0) computer program, and included descriptive statistics, one-way ANOVA, Pearson's correlation coefficient, and stepwise multiple regression analysis. Results: The relationship between HRQoL and LUTS with depression had a significant negative correlation, whereas the relationship between HRQoL and sexual function had a significant positive correlation. Depression, age, LUTS, number of chronic disease, and excercise were found to be significant predictors (35.6%) of the Physical Component Summary of HRQoL. Depression, stress, smoking, LUTS, and sexual function were found to be significant predictors (48.2%) of the Mental Component Summary of HRQoL. Conclusion: To improve HRQoL of patients with BPH, nurses should focus on the factors identified in this study when doing nursing assessments, and should develop nursing intervention programs for BPH prevention and symptoms management in primary care settings.

The development of health information technology enables people to access, view and acquire personal health record. But still, there have been a number of obstacles such as the absence of the standard to realize the ideal Personal Health Record(PHR) system. In this study, we proposed the service model that serves periodic Health Record Summary which is made by a medical specialist to people who are in the busy lives. Healthcare data from EMR in a hospital including people generate themselves at home is sent to a physician to make a medical opinion, and then it is changed into Health Level 7 Continuity of Care Document(CCD) format for interoperability. After a physician writes his opinion about patient's health condition, it will send to people by email. People who receive the health record summary data by email can save them into a USB device to view own PHR and medical comments of a physician through a computer. It will help people managing their own health condition with an opinion of a medical specialist.

Objective: The aim of this study is to give ergonomists the brief summary of the recently published ISO standards on human-system interaction and tips for application of the standards. Background: Standard developers did hard work on developing a standard in a concise manner. But most of standards are often bulky in volume. Readers of the standards are difficult to catch key points from the voluminous contents of standards and intermingle among them. Method: Focused on newly developed display/control technology, this study reviewed the 14 ISO standards on human-system interaction published during 2008-2013 and summarized key points from them. Results: Schematic diagrams and tables concisely illustrated the processes, procedures, dimensions, or best practices recommended by the standards concerning conception, design, and usability testing for consumer products. Conclusion: The standards provided the minimum level of requirements on design and evaluation on the physical input devices, electronic displays, and control interfaces based on the current state of technology. But the minimum requirements specified in the standards nowadays become mandatory ergonomic requirements in global trade world. Application: Ergonomists can take a quick and broad view on international standardization activities on newly developed display/control technology from this summary study.
