Document summarization is an important task in various areas where the goal is to select a few the most descriptive sentences from a given document as a succinct summary. Even without training data of human labeled summaries, there has been several interesting existing work in the literature that yields reasonable performance. In this paper, within the same unsupervised learning setup, we propose a more principled learning framework for the document summarization task. Specifically we formulate an optimization problem that expresses the requirements of both faithful preservation of the document contents and the summary length constraint. We circumvent the difficult integer programming originating from binary sentence selection via continuous relaxation and the low entropy penalization. We also suggest an efficient convex-concave optimization solver algorithm that guarantees to improve the original objective at every iteration. For several document datasets, we demonstrate that the proposed learning algorithm significantly outperforms the existing approaches.

시청자의 취향에 맞는 방송 컨텐츠를 제공하는 쌍방향 방송 서비스에 대한 요구가 증가하면서 방송용 컨텐츠의 요약, 검색, 색인 기술의 개발이 필요하게 되었다. 이런 필요에 의해 만들어진 MPEG-7 과 TV-Anytime과 같은 국제 표준들은 영상/비디오의 효율적인 내용 특징 추출 기술 및 추출된 특징을 바탕으로 멀티미디어 데이터를 검색하는 기술을 제공할 수 있다. 본 논문에서는 상위의 MPEG-7기술자들을 사용하여 골프 비디오의 내용기반 특징을 추출하고, 이들을 통합하여 골프 비디오의 구조적 내용 정보를 기술하는 요약문(Hierarchical Summary)을 생성하였다. 제안한 방법은 국제 표준으로써 그 성능을 인정받은 MPEG-7 기술자들을 사용하여 각 기술자 모듈의 정확성을 확보하고 필요에 따라 기술자 모듈의 성능을 개선하여 효율성을 높였다.

본 연구에서는 이동통신사의 네트웍 관리의 효율성 향상을 목적으로 이동통신 통화량 자료의 통계적 특성을 분석하고, 이를 통하여 월별 통화량 자료를 요약하기 위한 통계적 방법을 국내 특정 이동통신사의 사례를 중심으로 살펴보게 된다.

The Operational Mode Summary/Mission Profile(OMS/MP) is a document which describes how a system or training device will be used in wartime and/or peacetime at the time it is field with focus on the future. OMS/MP is also typically used for the RAM goal setting in an early phase of weapon system development. This paper provides OMS/MP and RAM goal of the Next-MILSATCOM which is following military satellite system after ANASIS. We propose operational concepts, user-side OMS/MP model and RAM goal.

Manual generation of the relay setting summary could involve fatal errors which would result in the big damage to the system. This paper reports the automatic generation system of relay setting reports. Analysing the manual reports of various relays the almost unified format has been designed. The developed system utilizes the graphics and tabular format to enhance the user understanding.

The Summary Handbook of Acupuncture and Moxibustion (鍼灸要覽) (SHAM) was written by an unknown folk healer who learned acupuncture about 100 years ago in Korea. The book discusses 79 acupoints and includes a table of contents, a text, and a pair of acupoint charts. The acupoints in the book are classed under two headings, 49 acupoints of 14 meridians and 33 acupoints. A number of the acupoints such as Gichoong (氣忠), Eumheobong (陰虛峰), Goowa (口卧), Cheonryang (天良) did not fit the then existing meridian system and were newly uncovered by the authors. The book also discusses needle insertion depth in a way that is quite different from how insertion depth is understood by clinicians today. Books such as SHAM that record new acupoints and treatments are rare among Korea's existing medical and clinical books and can be said to be very important in terms of medical history.

For different reasons, many viewers like to watch a summary of films without having to waste their time. Traditionally, video film was analyzed manually to provide a summary of it, but this costs an important amount of work time. Therefore, it has become urgent to propose a tool for the automatic video summarization job. The automatic video summarization aims at extracting all of the important moments in which viewers might be interested. All summarization criteria can differ from one video to another. This paper presents how the emotional dimensions issued from real viewers can be used as an important input for computing which part is the most interesting in the total time of a film. Our results, which are based on lab experiments that were carried out, are significant and promising.

This paper aims to review the overall development of constructivist approaches in science education research from two different perspectives, that is a summary of the past development in science education in general and a report of the outline of a recent research project on students' physics misconceptions in particular. In the summary of the past development of constructivist science education the introduction of constructivism as well as its psychological and philosophical backgrounds are briefly reported. Then main findings of the researches of constructivist approach are discussed in terms of the features of students' misconceptions, of the ways of effective conceptual change, of the implications toward school science education, and of the criticisms given to the constructivist approach. In the report of a recent development in addition to its background necessity and implications, the research structure and the format of the data analysis of the study on the map of students' physics misconceptions are presented. It is particularly emphasized that the practical informations and suggestions for actual teaching of school science, such as the database(DB) of students' misconceptions and teaching guides, are of most practical and effective values in order to maximize the advantage of the constructivist approach to science education.
