In this paper, we analyze the error performance of SIC-based signal detection methods in MIMO systems. Considered detection methods are SIC signal detection and LR-SIC signal detection. We derive BLER performance of the methods and the performance is confirmed by computer simulations.

In this paper, the performances of a single-user DS-UWB system applying two simple proposed channel estimation schemes are introduced, according to the newly updated DS-UWB PHY Layer standard from IEEE P802.15.3a. The performances of error control coding, different combining schemes in selective Rake receiver for DS-UWB system are analyzed. Both of the two channel estimation schemes using data-independent structure work well in DS-UWB system with few pilot bits. For the purpose of channel estimation and reduces the number of pilot bits, we apply a pilot symbol spreaded with $2{^8}-1\;or\;2{^9}-1$ periods of m-sequence for different channel estimation schemes.

Successive interference cancellation (SIC) is an effective means of multi-packet reception to combat interference at the physical layer. We investigate the joint optimization issue of channel access and power control for capacity maximization in SIC-enabled wireless networks. We propose a new interference model to characterize the sequential detection nature of SIC. Afterward, we formulize the joint optimization problem, prove it to be a nondeterministic polynomial-time-hard problem, and propose a novel approximation approach based on the genetic algorithm (GA). Finally, we discuss the design and parameter setting of the GA approach and validate its performance through extensive simulations.

Recently, correlated superposition coding (CSC) has been proposed to implement non-orthogonal multiple access (NOMA) without successive interference cancellation (SIC), without loss of spectral efficiency, in contrast to conventional independent superposition coding (ISC). However, correlation between signals has reduced the average total allocated power, which results in degraded performance. Thus, in order to avoid the reduction of the average total allocated power owing to correlation between signals, this paper proposes a cross-correlated quadrature amplitude modulation (QAM) NOMA scheme under Rayleigh fading channel surroundings. First, we design the cross-correlated QAM NOMA scheme. Then, simulations demonstrate that for the weaker channel gain's user, the symbol error rate (SER) performance of the proposed cross-correlated QAM NOMA improves largely, whereas for the stronger channel gain's user, the SER performance of the proposed cross-correlated QAM CSM NOMA degrades little, compared to that of the conventional QAM NOMA.
Recently, orthogonal non-orthogonal multiple access (O NOMA) with polar on-off keying (POOK) has been proposed to mitigate the severe effect of the superposition. However, it is observed that the performance of the O NOMA strong channel user is better than that of the perfect successive interference cancellation (SIC), i.e., the performance of a single user transmission with binary phase shift keying (BPSK). Can the performance of the BPSK modulation be better that that of itself? It is not normal. It should be clearly understood theoretically, with the ultimate bound, i.e., the channel capacity. This paper proves that the channel capacity of the O NOMA strong channel user is non-zero with zero power allocation. Thus, it is shown that the interference is transformed effectively into the meaningful signal.

In the Internet-of-Things (IoT) and artificial intelligence (AI), complete implementations are dependent largely on the speed of the fifth generation (5G) networks. However, successive interference cancellation (SIC) in non-orthogonal multiple access (NOMA) of the 5G mobile networks can be still decoding latency and receiver complexity in the conventional SIC NOMA scheme. Thus, in order to reduce latency and complexity of inherent SIC in conventional SIC NOMA schemes, we propose a rate-lossless non-SIC NOMA scheme. First, we derive the closed-form expression for the achievable data rate of the asymmetric 2PAM non-SIC NOMA, i.e., without SIC. Second, the exact achievable power allocation interval of this rate-lossless non-SIC NOMA scheme is also derived. Then it is shown that over the derived achievable power allocation interval of user-fairness, rate-lossless non-SIC NOMA can be implemented. As a result, the asymmetric 2PAM could be a promising modulation scheme for rate-lossless non-SIC NOMA of 5G networks, under user-fairness.

Recently, a lossless non-successive interference cancellation (SIC) non-orthogonal multiple access (NOMA) implementation has been proposed. Such lossless NOMA without SIC is achieved via correlated superposition coding (SC), in comparison with conventional independent SC. However, only high-correlated SC was investigated in the lossless non-SIC NOMA implementation. Thus, this paper investigates low-correlated SC, especially a lossless interval, owing to low-correlation between signals. First, for the low-correlated SC scheme, we derive the closed-form expressions for the two roots with which the lossless interval is defined. Then, simulations demonstrate that the lossless interval of low-correlated SC NOMA is enlarged, with a degraded middle interval, compared to that of high-correlated SC NOMA. Moreover, we also show that such tendency becomes stronger as the value of the correlation coefficient varies. As a result, the proposed low-correlated SC scheme could be considered as a promising correlated SC scheme, with the enlarged lossless interval in NOMA toward the future sixth-generation (6G) ultra-reliable low-latency communications (URLLC).

The transmitted signal from a source is transmitted to a destination through wireless channels. But if the mobile destination is out of the coverage of the source or exists in the shady side of the coverage, the destination can not receiver the signal from the source and they can not maintain communication. In order to overcome these problems, we adopt relays. A system employing relays is a multi-hop relay system. In the multi-hop relay system, coverages of each relay that is used for different systems can overlap each other in some place. When there is a destination in this place, interference occurs at the destination. In this paper, we study on the efficient co-channel interference (CCI) cancellation algorithm. In the proposed strategy, CCI is mitigated by zero forcing (ZF) or minimum mean square error (MMSE) receivers. Moreover, successive interference cancellation (SIC) with optimal ordering algorithm is applied for rejecting CCI efficiently. And we analyzed and simulated the proposed system performance in Rayleigh fading channel. In order to justify the benefit of the proposed strategy, the overall system performance is illustrated in terms of bit error probability.

In this paper, we have analyzed the BER (Bit Error Rate) performance of multi-user detectors employing SIC(Successive Interference Cancellation) and PIC (Parallel Interference Cancellation) which are the representative schemes in the subtractive interference cancellation. We have considered the MUD structure employing HIC (Hybrid Interference Cancellation) which combines SIC with PIC scheme, and then analyzed the BER performance. We have evaluated the BER performance of SIC and HIC schemes which execute the soft decision to generate the tentative data bit for the purpose of the interference cancellation in MAI and noise environments. Through the numerical analysis and computer simulation, it is shown that HIC can remove the effect of MAI more efficiently than the others, that improve the BER performance and increase the capacity of DS-CDMA systems regardless of the power control conditions. The reason is that the SIC scheme in front of HIC can solve the near-far problem caused by the imperfect power control and PIC scheme in the rear of it can improve the performance much more.

In this paper, we propose a new relay selection technique which utilizes interference cancellation with decoding information at multiple relays for buffer-aided successive relaying systems. The transmitting relay is selected if its own transmission to the destination is successful and the number of relays which can successfully decode the data from the source is the maximum at the same time. Simulation results show that the proposed relay selection technique significantly outperforms the conventional relay selection scheme in terms of outage probability.
