  • In case of rolling stock, SEMS is generally applied in the advanced countries, but is start stage in our country. SEMS is defined the system engineering management system in order to achieve the optimized train performance among the several client requirements aspect of technical engineering management during the design life cycle. And the fire engineering activities in hong kong EMU project are introduced aspect of SEMS in this paper. The fire engineering at rolling stock in view of SEMS controls to apply the satisfied interior material by the fire safety standards (regulation of the commute urban subway safety guideline by the MOCT, BS 6853, NFPA 130, NF F 16-101) and to minimize the fire load in order that passengers egress safe from the fired rolling stock. The rolling stock in the advanced countries is designed to stand for 15-20 minutes in considering the rolling stock to be fired in tunnel. For passenger fire safety, the passenger evacuation provision and progress is set up.

  • Many railway safety measures are carried out after Daegue subway fire accident. Such as replacement of train interior material, fire extinguish and toxic gas evacuation facilities, exercise on emergency response, setting up of national safety management system, and safety technology research. But these safety measures are not considered by system safety due to lack of risk and hazard information. In order to assess fire risk on system level, we proposed hazard events and causes classification for railway fire accident risk analysis.

  • At present, one of the big characteristics in electric power market in korea is unique seller but in the near future competitions are expected in the market. so additional service for the electric power are expected. Also with development of IT technology, remote inspection for power usage are possible so as consumption pattern analysis. KORAIL is one of the biggest consumer in electric power market so it is necessary to investigate power consumption pattern. This paper presents electric load consumption pattern for representative substation like urban subway, high-speed train, industrial line and simulation program for electric power rate definition program based on billing system database. Base on the substation annual power usage DB data, the characteristic of the substation power consumption are investigated and effective electrical billing system are compared each other. Through this program it is verified that we can save more then several hundred million won for a year.

  • In this paper, the power simulation is used for the prediction of regenerative energy and examination of install location of regenerative inverter for DC railway system. The power simulation was composed to train performance simulation(TPS) and power flow simulation. We performed the power simulation for Seoul subway line 5 and 7, calculation of regenerative energy and examination of substations where regenerative inverter is installed.

  • This study aimed at investigating the influence of tunnel length and area, drag coefficient, train velocity on the characteristics of ventilation in railway tunnel. The modified Subway Environment Simulation(SES) computer program has been used to calculate the flow velocity and longitudinal emission concentration with various condition. According to a series of numerical simulation, the influence of various parameter on maximum air flow velocity, purging length and emission concentration are estimated.

  • This paper presents a high performance low switching PWM technique for the propulsion system of railway such as subway and high speed train. In order to achieve the continuous voltage control to six-step and a low harmonics with low switching frequency under 500Hz, the synchronous PWM technique is combined with a space vector overmodulation and implemented by using DSP. Improved performance and a validation of proposed method are showed by the digital simulation and the experimental results using a 1.65MVA IGBT VVVF inverter and inertia load equivalent to 160 tons railway vehicles.

  • Presently metro in our country has higher rate of passengers as a public transportation of urban area than other transportations.   • To suggest the standard of railroad noise and its measures and grasp its status 15 open sites of the Jungang. Taeback and Youngdong line in which the background noise level is very low and the railroad is at grade and 7 urban sites of the Kyungboo and Honam line were selected and the sound level which 373 trains passing through the former and 271 trains passing through the latter emitted was investigated. The community response of railroad noise was surveyed for apartment near wayside. Noise reduction of wall for apartment at the wayside was investigated. The prediction of electric train subway noise is derived for the environment impact assessment.

  • Air spring system was accepted for railway vehicle secondary suspension to reduce and absorb the vibration and noise. The low natural frequency ensures a comfortable ride and an invariably good stiffness. In this paper, the characteristics and durability test was conducted in laboratory by using servo-hydraulic fatigue testing system to reliability evaluation of air spring for electric railway vehicle. The experimental results show that the characteristics and durability of domestic development productions are obtained the good results. And to guarantee the adaption of air spring, the ride comfort and air pressure variation were measured in train test on subway line.

  • Moscow is one of well-developed city about intermodal transport system by subway line. But some airports which located in suburb area have really bad transport system connecting downtown Moscow, and many people have experienced a lot of inconveniences. Russian Railways (RZD) established airport rail company in year 2005 and they have operated Aero-Express train from downtown of Moscow to major airports. Intermodal transport system was considered to the construction of Russian airport rail system, and various types of tickets and airport rail terminals are operated by RZD, and subsidiary businesses with airline companies are promoted. This study will analyze the success factors of Moscow airport rail system and introduce the success effects, and considering points for the operation of Incheon airport rail terminal in the future.
