Purpose: This study was attempted to provide the basic data in order to develop a supportive system for the family by investigation of the general and disability-related features of the industrial accident disabled and their family function. Method: Three hundred and forty six industrial accident disabled were randomly selected among those who resided in the Seoul, Incheon, and Gyeonggi areas, and who were confirmed as disabled according to its severity from the first to fourteenth grade from January, 1998 to December, 2000. The data were collected for one month from August 1 to August 31, 2001. Each study team consisted of two members out of 20 researchers and they interviewed the disabled individually by visiting their homes. Collected data were analyzed using frequency, percentages, t-test, ANOVA, and Correlation, etc. Results: The average score for family function was 102.60. The adaptability represented the highest score among the concepts dependent on the family function. The concepts were cohesion, adaptability and communication, which scored as 33.59, 35.38, 33.34, respectively. The family function was significantly different in education, marital status and subjective health status. In particular, the family function was excellent from the industrial accident disabled who had graduated from middle school, was married, and felt healthy. Depression and quality of life were other factors, which were also correlated significantly with the family function. The lower the degree of depression and the better the quality of life, the better the family function. Conclusion: The industrial accident disabled who had been in poor health or faced with difficulties in daily activities even after the therapy for the disability was completed. In particular, their family always had a great burden to care for the disabled and to take financial responsibility. Therefore, the rehabilitation program for the disabled should be family oriented.
This study was conducted to investigate the effects of worker's happiness, fatigue and self-efficacy on quality of life. The data was collected from September 15 to 30, 2018, and the subjects were 102 workers. Collected data were analyzed using the IBM SPSS 25.0 program. The results of this study are as follows. 1) Workers' quality of life was significantly different according to gender, subjective health, transportation to and from work, and time spent to commute (p <.05). 2) Workers' quality of life was significantly positively correlated with happiness and self-efficacy and negatively with fatigue (p <.05). 3) The significant factors affecting worker's quality of life were gender, happiness, fatigue and self-efficacy, and their explanatory power was 80.4%. The primary focus of this study was on the issues associated with family and economic decision-making, in particular for the elderlyhood which might have to (or could be) share the family resources. This study regarded willingness to consider applying for Reverse Mortgage as an economic decision-making. The data was collected by interviewing 320 persons (over age 55) living in metropolitan areas in 2008. We selected 227 cases to find the influence of family, having both spouse and adult-children. We have used a theory of Planned Behavior by Fishbein to analysis three research questions. The results are as follows : first, the results partially explain willingness to consider applying for reverse mortgage using Fishbein's theory. Second, several results indicated that economic decision-makings within the family are influenced by several factors relating to other family member's view. They means that some of Subjective Norm variables, of Attitude Behavior ones, and of Perceived Behavior Control ones. Third, the result shows men and women respond differently to consider to applying for that policy. Men are conscious of the other people, i.e., friends, relatives except close family members, and, on the other hand, women are mindful of close family members, i.e., adult children. Forth, the group who have lower income showed higher intentions to consider that policy, when they have adult-children. Fifth, according to age group, pre-elderly group are influenced by consent of adult-children, a level of education, and on the other hand, elderly group are influenced by the other people, i.e., friends, relatives, a level of education, and so on. These results meaned that these distinct characteristics should be considered to establish Income Security policy for the pre-elderly and the elderly.
An esthetically pleasing result in denture service is dependent upon several consideration. Esthetic considerations for the edentulous patient include tooth size, shape, arrangement, positioning, gingival contour, age, sex, personality differences, and ethnic type. Especially, the form of anterior artificial teeth is an important factor on the esthetics. The selection of artificaial teeth requires understanding and knowledge on physical and biologic factors and has to meet the indivisul esthetics and functional needs of each patient. However, the selection of artificial teeth is based on the large degree of subjective judgement of the dentist, Therefore, this is one of the most unscientific processes. Many attempts have been made to find a guideline for the selection of artificial teeth. Temperamental theory by White and Hall utillized with the physical characteristics such as body size, body form, color of eyes and hair, and disposition. SPA theory by Frush and Fisher utilized with the basis of sex, personalities, and age of the indivisual. There has not been provided for a guideline and study on the selection of artificial teeth for Koreans yet. This study was aimed to evaluate the William's typal matching theory in Koreans. 1. The facial forms of korean adult were ovoid(46.3%), square(36.7%) and tapered(17.0%) form. 2. The anatomic forms of natural maxillary incisors were ovoid(45.3%), tapered(31.3%), square(23.3%) form. 3. The forms of face and natural maxillary incisors were ovoid(21.9%), squared(11%), tapered(6.3%). 4. The natural maxillary incisors were similar in form to the facial form only in 39%. There was no correlation between the form of the face and the form of natural maxillary central inisors in Koreans. 5. Artificaial teeth which was selected according to the typal matching theory did not represent the form of the natural teeth in 61 per cents of the fatal, but it felt that they harmonized with the form of the patient's face and produced good results.

Fuzzy theory is used to quantify some subjective criteria and consider uncertain factors for transmission line reinforcement planning in this paper. Sugeno's fuzzy integral is also used in the proposed method, because it can be easily allied to multi attribute decision making problems such as power system planning. To verify the proposed algorithm, some bode-neck lines are searched for the case that the amount of Maximal Load Supplying Capability(MLSC) is small using the results of contingency analysis for Korea Electric Power Corporation(KEPCO)'s 345[kV] transmission line in 1998. And several feasible alternatives are composed for line reinforcement which can dissolve the bottle-neck.
The purpose of this research is first, to define what measurement items in terms of subjective consideration and preference can be used to assess the landscape values of agriculture and fisheries heritage, and second, to understand the perceptive patterns particularly how landscape experts weigh up the importance of the each measurement item. In order to extract the measurement items, extensive literature review was performed including research documents as well as domestic and international policy reports. A survey targeting the experts was conducted to ask their opinions on the importance of the selected items. For the analysis, SPSS 20.0 for Windows was used to carry out reliability analysis, descriptive statistics such as arithmetic mean and frequency distribution, factor analysis, and multiple linear regression modeling. The results are: the importance value of the landscape values in agriculture and fisheries heritage was 4.1494; the ratio value that the experts perceived the importance was 87.2%; and the average of the importance value of the analyzed items was 3.71. All the items have more than 3.00. Ten factor groups were summarized and defined whose total explanation power was 67.86%. The factor groups were named as lyricism, authenticity, environmentally-friendliness, durability, recognizability, regionality, visibility, value of sightseeing, social image, and universality. The factors influencing the landscape values are, in order of importance, recognizability, authenticity, visibility, universality, durability, and nativeness. According to the analysis, however, environmentally-friendliness, regionality, value of sightseeing, and social image were not as important.
This study aims to establish an approach to assess urban flood vulnerability by identifying social characteristics such as the road transportation and the vulnerable groups. Assessment procedures comprise three steps as: (1) composing the assessment criteria to reflect the urban characteristics; (2) calculating the weight; and (3) evaluating the vulnerability. The criteria were adopted by Delphi survey technique. Four criteria as land cover, residents, vulnerable areas, and disaster response were adopted in the current study. To determine the weight set of criteria, subjective and objective methods were combined. The weight set was determined using the combined method which reflects the Delphi method and Entropy analysis. In the process of data-based construction, GIS tools wwere used to extract administrative unit materials such as land cover, road status, and slope. Data on population and other social criteria were collected through the National Statistical Office and the Seoul Metropolitan statistical data. TOPSIS (Technique for Order of Preference by Similarity to Ideal Solution) technique, which uses materials from cell units in order to rank the closest distance to the best case and the farthest distance from the worst case by calculating the distances to the area of assessment, was applied to assess. The study area was the Dorimcheon basin, a flood special treatment area of Seoul city. The results from the current study indicates that the established urban flood vulnerability assessment approach is able to predict the inherent vulnerable factors in urban regions and to propose the area of priority control.
This study was performed to investigate the currents status of the sexual assaults on women public transportation users and to provide solutions in order to provide safe transportation services to women. Data was collected through in-depth interviews with career women in Gyeonggi-do. The main purpose of the interview was to understand their experiences about sexual assaults while using public transport and to investigate the extent to which their experiences affected their transportation-related behaviors. The effects of various related transport policies on women behaviors were also analyzed by estimating structural equation models. The results showed that among them, CCTV, accessible warning bells, and more police presence seemed to be more effective, but that woman-only sections were not as effective as others in reducing the number of crimes. The results implied that individual subjective norms and their perceived behavioral control, behavior intention were important factors. Based on these results, we recommended additional policies more effective in sexual crime reduction.
Objectives : To analyse the psychosocial factors associated with hypertension management(drug treatment and life style modification) of newly detected cases and to understand and assess their behavioral intention or behaviors. Methods : The survey area was a combined urban and rural area in Chungnam province, Korea, and the sampling method was cluster sampling. Study subjects included 541 newly detected cases of hypertension rated above stage 2 by JNC-VI from a community survey. The first survey was applied to 383 of these patients in order to discern their psychosocial characteristics. A follow-up survey was given to 345 persons with an 11-month interval following monthly telephone counseling concerning medication and life style modification by trained nurses. The final study subjects for analysis comprised 271 persons after excluding cases of incomplete data and change of address. Results : Among the 85(33.2%) new patients who had intended to undergo drug treatment, 30(35.3%) persons were treated with antihypertensive agent after 11 - month interval, while among the patients with no intention to receive treatment, only 36(21.1%) persons were treated. Hypertensive patients with a high intention score revealed a high score in life style modification compliance as well. Seventy three percent of the variance of behavioral intention to undergo hypertension management was explained by the patients attitude toward performing the behavior and subjective norm associated with behaviors related to the theory of reasoned action in structural modeling. Actual behaviors related positively with behavioral intention. The coefficient of determination was 0.255. Conclusion : Improving the compliance level of hypertensive patients in respect to drug treatment or life style modification requires a build up of positive behavioral intention, and caregivers must pay more attention to eventually converting behavioral intention to actual behaviors.

Background and Objectives:This study is to objectively compare and analyze the acoustic changes in the patients with total thyroidectomy before and after RI therapy. Subjects and Methods:For this study, a total of 50 patients with total thyroidectomy were participated as subjects. Voice samples were obtained at the time of post-operation (Post-OP), before high-dose radioactive iodine therapy (Pre-RIT), and after high-dose radioactive iodine therapy (Post-RIT). Acoustic analysis, the maximum phonation time and K-VHI (Korea-Voice handicap index) were used for subjective evaluation. Results:According to the comparison analysis of the three periods, mFo (Hz) was significantly reduced in all of the vowels /a/ and /i/ as the hormone was discontinued. This can be related to the reduction in vocal range. As thyroid hormone was discontinued, Shim (%) and APQ (%) values, which are the parameters related to the degree of aggressiveness, showed a significant increase in the middle vowel /a/. As thyroid hormone was discontinued, emotional index was significantly decreased in VHI (voice handicap index). Conclusion:These results can be assumed that thyroid hormone suspension is related to the increased changes in the vocal intensity, the increase in noise and the reduction in vocal range. Emotionally, these data can be assumed that the responsive factors of one's own voice disorders were significantly decreased in the patients with vocal handicap.
