Hydrogen combustion in modern gas-turbine engine is the cutting edge technology as carbon-free energy conversion system. Flashback of hydrogen flame, however, is inevitable and critical specially for premixed hydrogen combustion. Therefore, this experimental investigation is conducted to understand flashback phenomenon in premixed hydrogen combustion. In order to investigate flashback characteristics in premixed hydrogen (H2)/air flame, we focus on pressure conditions and nozzle shapes. In general, quenching distance reduces as pressure of combustion chamber increases, causing flashback from boundary layer near wall. The flashback regime for reference and modified candidate configurations can broadly appear with increasing combustion chamber pressure. The later one can improve flashback-resist by compensating flow velocity at wall. Also, improved wall flow velocity profile of suggested contraction nozzle prevents entire flashback but causes local flashback at nozzle exit.

Cracking ammonia inside solid oxide fuel cell (SOFC) stack is a compact and simple way. To prevent sharp temperature fluctuation and increase cell efficiency, the decomposition reaction should be spread on whole cell area. This leading to a question that, how does anode thickness affect the conversion rate of ammonia and the cell voltage? Since the 0D model of SOFC is useful for system level simulation, how accurate is it to use equilibrium solver for internal ammonia cracking reaction? The 1D model of ammonia fed SOFC was used to simulate the diffusion and reaction of ammonia inside the anode electrode, then the partial pressure of hydrogen and steam at triple phase boundary was used for cell voltage calculation. The result shows that, the ammonia conversion rate increases and reaches saturated value as anode thickness increase, and the saturated thickness is bigger for lower operating temperature. The similar cell voltage between 1D and 0D models can be reached with NH3 conversion rate above 90%. The 0D model and 1D model of SOFC showed similar conversion rate at temperature over 750℃.
In this paper, by using the difference analogue of Nevanlinna's theory, the authors study the shared-value problem concerning two higher order difference operators of a transcendental entire function with finite order. The following conclusion is proved: Let f(z) be a finite order transcendental entire function such that λ(f - a(z)) < ρ(f), where a(z)(∈ S(f)) is an entire function and satisfies ρ(a(z)) < 1, and let 𝜂(∈ ℂ) be a constant such that ∆𝜂n+1 f(z) ≢ 0. If ∆𝜂n+1 f(z) and ∆𝜂n f(z) share ∆𝜂n a(z) CM, where ∆𝜂n a(z) ∈ S ∆𝜂n+1 f(z), then f(z) has a specific expression f(z) = a(z) + BeAz, where A and B are two non-zero constants and a(z) reduces to a constant.
We consider the delay differential equations $$b(z)w(z+1)+c(z)w(z-1)+a(z)\frac{w'(z)}{w^k(z)}=\frac{P(z, w(z))}{Q(z, w(z))}$$, where k ∈ {1, 2}, a(z), b(z) ≢ 0, c(z) ≢ 0 are rational functions, and P(z, w(z)) and Q(z, w(z)) are polynomials in w(z) with rational coefficients satisfying certain natural conditions regarding their roots. It is shown that if this equation has a non-rational meromorphic solution w with hyper-order ρ2(w) < 1, then either degw(P) = degw(Q) + 1 ≤ 3 or max{degw(P), degw(Q)} ≤ 1. In addition, it is shown that in the case max{degw(P), degw(Q)} = 0 the equations above can have such a solution, with an additional zero density requirement, only if the coefficients of the equation satisfy certain strict conditions.
Once a site is contaminated with polychlorinated biphenyls (PCBs), serious environmental and human health risks are inevitable. Therefore, innovative but economical in situ remediation technologies must be immediately applied to the contaminated site. Recently, nanoscale zero-valent iron (nano-ZVI) particles have successfully been applied for the dechlorination of various chlorinated organic compounds like TCE, PCE and DDT, and they are considered to be environmentally safe due to the high abundance of iron in the earth's crust. Nano-ZVIs are much more reactive than granular ones, but tend to agglomerate due to their high surface energy and magnetic properties. In order to prevent them from being agglomerated toward larger particles, TiO2 was used as a support to immobilize the nano-ZVI particles as much as possible. 10wt% ZVI/TiO2 was prepared by adding NaBH4 slowly into an FeSO4/TiO2 aqueous slurry. In spite of their non-uniformity in size, the nano-ZVI particles were quite successfully dispersed onto the exterior surface of a non-porous TiO2 powder. The ZVI/TiO2 was then employed to degrade Aroclor 1242, a kind of PCBs standard, in spiked soil, and its reactivity towards the degradation of Aroclor 1242 was investigated. The fabricated ZVI/TiO2 degraded Aroclor 1242 in soil quite effectively, but the creation of remaining dechlorinated compounds, possibly high molecular weight hydrocarbons, in the soil was unavoidable.
Let P and Q be probability measures of a measurable space $(\Omega, F)$, and ${F_n}_{n \geq 1}$ be a sequence of increasing sub $\sigma$-fields which generates F. For each $n \geq 1$, let $P_n$ and $Q_n$ be the restrictions of P and Q to $F_n$, respectively. Under the assumption that $Q_n \ll P_n$ for every $n \geq 1$, a zero-one condition is derived for P and Q to have the dichotomy, i.e., either $Q \ll P$ or $Q \perp P$. Then using this condition and the Kolmogorov's zero-one law, we give new and simple proofs of the dichotomy theorems for a pair of Gaussian measures and Poisson processes with examples.

In achieving carbon neutrality and the hydrogen economy, the estimation of H2 cost is critical in terms of CCU technologies. This study analyzes LCOH of hydrogen produced by the carbon utilization unit with methane reforming and CO2 from thermal power plant. LCOH for H2 made with CO is estimated in three ways of Joint Cost Allocations with financial performance risk assessment. Regarding cost analysis, the zero value of LCOH is $6,003/ton. We found that the CCU technology has economic feasibility in terms of profitability. The sensitivity analysis result shows that the input ratio is more influential to the LCOH than other variables. Risk analysis presents the baseline price of zero value of LCOH - $8,408/ton, which is higher than the cost analysis - $6,003/ton. Mainly, the price variability of natural gas primarily affects the LCOH. The study has significant value in analyzing the financial performance risks as well as the cost of H2 produced by a Plasma-based CCU system.

Soil plasticity models for cyclic and dynamic loads are essential in non-linear numerical analysis of geotechnical structures. While a single yield surface model shows a linear behavior for cyclic loads, J2-bounding surface plasticity model with zero elastic region can effectively simulate a nonlinearity of the ground response with the same material properties. The radius of the yield surface inside the boundary surface converged to 0 to make the elastic region disappear, and plastic hardening modulus and dilatancy define plastic strain increment. This paper presents the stress-strain incremental equation of the developed model, and derives plastic hardening modulus for the hyperbolic model. The comparative analyses of the triaxial compression test and the shallow foundation under the cyclic load can show stable numerical convergence, consistency with the theoretical solution, and hysteresis behavior. In addition, plastic hardening modulus for the modified hyperbolic function is presented, and a methodology to estimate model variables conforming 1D equivalent linear model is proposed for numerical modeling of the multi-dimensional behavior of the ground.

Blockchain is a technology that enables trust-based consensus and verification based on a decentralized network. Distributed ID (DID) is based on a decentralized structure, and users have the right to manage their own ID. Recently, interest in self-sovereign identity authentication is increasing. In this paper, as a method for transparent and safe sovereignty management of data, among data pseudonymization techniques for blockchain use, various methods for data encryption processing are examined. The public key technique (homomorphic encryption) has high flexibility and security because different algorithms are applied to the entire sentence for encryption and decryption. As a result, the computational efficiency decreases. The hash function method (MD5) can maintain flexibility and is higher than the security-related two-way encryption method, but there is a threat of collision. Zero-knowledge proof is based on public key encryption based on a mutual proof method, and complex formulas are applied to processes such as personal identification, key distribution, and digital signature. It requires consensus and verification process, so the operation efficiency is lowered to the level of O (logeN) ~ O(N2). In this paper, data encryption processing for blockchain DID, based on zero-knowledge proof, was proposed and a one-way encryption method considering data use range and frequency of use was proposed. Based on the content presented in the thesis, it is possible to process corrected zero-knowledge proof and to process data efficiently.
Giant magneto-impedance (GMI) effect in zero-magnetostrictive Co-based amorphous ribbons samples in their as-quenched and stress-released states as well as with intentionally induced magnetic anisotropy were investigated. Magnetic and impedance properties of the samples exhibiting different anisotropy were compared and the optimum operation conditions for the studied samples from the view-point of their utilization as a sensor element have been determined. A design of a model of magnetic field sensor and characteristics of the constructed prototype are presented.
