High efficient Transflective TFT-LCD by tRGB-rW Sub-Pixel Rendering

  • The total light efficiencies of the novel 1.9" transflective tRGB-t/rW and tRGB-rW TFT LCDs are calculated and they are implemented by the traditional 7-mask ${\alpha}$-Si processing. Then, the two vehicles are turned on with the appropriate Sub-Pixel Rendering White (SPRW) algorithms, so they can exhibit the extra luminance without the original visual resolution loss. Their outstanding optical properties are approved by measuring the contrast ratio (C.R.) and the NTSC ratio. Because they utilize the light resource very effectively and efficiently, they are very suitable for the dark indoor and the bright outdoor environments.

  • An automated surface-strain measurement system, named ASIAS, was developed by using the image processing and stereo vision techniques in the previous studies by the corresponding author and his coworkers. This system has been upgraded mainly to improve the accuracy through image enhancement, sub-pixel measurement, surface smoothing, etc., since the first version was released. The present study has still more improved the convenience of users as well as the accuracy of measurement by processing high resolution images 8 mega pixels or more which can be easily obtained from a portable digital steal camera. It is proved that high resolution image processing greatly decreases the measurement error and gives strain data without considerable deterioration of accuracy even when the deformed grids to be measured and the master grids for camera calibration are captured together in the same image, making the whole process of strain measurement much simpler.

  • 본 논문에서는 연속된 프레임을 갖는 영상의 프레임간 움직임 추정 기법을 응용하여 고해상도 영상을 획득하는 초고 해상도 기법을 제안한다. 기존의 단일 영상을 이용한 초고해상도 기법의 경우 영상에서의 고주파 대역을 찾기 위해 확률 기반의 다양한 방법이 제시되었으나 연산에 사용할 수 있는 정보가 제한적이라는 문제가 존재한다. 이러한 문제를 해결하기 위해 연속된 프레임을 이용한 다양한 초고해상도 기법이 제안되었다. 본 논문에서는 주어진 영상의 전, 후의 다수 프레임을 정하여 6-tap FIR(finite impulse response) 필터를 이용하여 프레임들의 부화소(sub-pixel)를 구한 뒤에, 부화소 정밀도의 움직임 추정을 통하여 보다 정확한 고주파성분을 복원하고자 한다. 실험을 통하여 제안하는 기법이 기존의 고등차수(bi-cubic)보간법 보다 선명한 영상을 획득할 수 있었다.

PIV에서의 보간기법의 평가에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Evaluation of Interpolation Methods in PIV)

  • To maintain high spacial accuracy and rapid CPU time in interpolating data from grid to random position or inversely in PIV, proposed many technuques are compared and discussed mainly in terms of interpolating error and computing time. And artificial PIV atmosphere data is furnished by CFD result. First, for interpolation from grid to random position, multiquadric method gives the highest accuracy with the longest CPU time and Taylor series expansion methods give reasonable accuracy with less calculating load. Secondly, the sub-pixel resolution analysis in estimating the coordinates of the maximum correlation coefficients essential in the grey level correlation PIV reveal that 8-neighbours 2nd-order least square interpolation gives utmost accuracy in terms of the real flow conditions.

  • This paper proposes an approach of automatically calculating the center location of fiducial marks up to sub-pixel accuracy with model-free condition. The conceptual model, composed of two assumptions, about general geometric property of fiducial area and fiducial mark is established. The proposed approach is primarily based on the strategy of calculating the center of symmetry and is composed of three steps of processing: (a) determining horizontal center of fiducial area, (b) locating center of a fiducial mark, and, (c) finally calculating the exact center up to sub-pixel accuracy. Evaluation with respect to RMK style marks and RC style ones shows that the proposed approach can be evaluated as robust one. However there are several images which can't be analyzed by the proposed approach.

  • 본 논문에서는 거리변환 기반의 정밀한 fiducial 마크 정렬 알고리즘을 제안한다. 거리변환은 물체의 중심에 가중치를 가지는 특성이 있는데 이는 AOI 공정에서 에칭, 이동과 같은 다양한 요소들로부터 획득되는 타겟영상에 대하여 강인하게 물체의 중심으로 매칭할 수 있도록 한다. 제안한 방법은 우선 입력 타겟영상에 대하여 이진화를 진행하고, 다음 모델과 타겟영상에 대하여 거리변환을 이용하여 거리특징을 추출하고, 추출된 모델과 타겟영상에 대한 거리특징을 NCC(Normalized Cross Correlation)를 이용하여 매칭한 후, 매칭 스코어에 대하여 Sub-pixel 분석을 진행하여 sub-pixel 레벨의 정확도를 가지도록 한다. 실험결과로부터 제안한 거리특징을 이용한 매칭 알고리즘이 기존의 픽셀 밝기 값을 이용한 매칭보다 강인하고 정확하게 매칭됨을 확인할 수 있었다.

제지공정의 실시간 결함 검출을 위한 영상 기반 웹 검사 시스템 (A Video based Web Inspection System for Real-time Detection of Paper Defects during Papermaking Processes)

  • In this paper, we propose a web inspection system (WIS) for real-time detection of paper defects which can cause critical fractures during papermaking process. Our system incorporates high speed line-scan camera, lighting system, and detection algorithm to provide robust and precise detection of paper defects in real-time. Since edge defects are very crucial to the paper fractures, our system focuses on the edge region of the paper instead of inspecting the whole paper area. In our algorithm, image projection and sub-pixel operation are utilized to detect the edge defects precisely and connected component labeling and shape analysis techniques are adopted to extract various kinds of the region defects. Experimental results revealed that our web inspection system is very efficient for detecting paper defects during papermaking processes.

CT실에서 무연보드 차폐체의 X선 차폐능력 평가 (Evaluation of the X-ray Shielding Ability of Lead Free Board Shielding in the CT Room)

  • This study compared the X-ray shielding abilities of the shields using Computed Radiography(CR) System after manufacturing a lead-free boards using gypsum and BaSO4, an eco-friendly X-ray shielding material. Total six lead-free boards were manufactured with BaSO4 concentrations of 25 %, 50 % and thickness of 10 mm, 15 mm, 20 mm respectively, and additional thickness of 1.0 mm, 1.5 mm, 2.0 mm leads were prepared. In the experiment, Nine shields were placed on the Image Plate and placed in a Computed Tomography(CT) Room where CT scans were performed for 2 weeks. After that, the X-ray image of the shields were obtained through CR Reader, and Pixel Value(PV) were measured to evaluated the X-ray shielding abilities of the lead-free shields. The criterion for evaluating the shields was determined by comparing PV of lead-free board to that of the 1.5 mm thickness lead used in the CT rooms. As a result of the experiment, the PV of the lead-free boards within 25 % of the BaSO4 concentration and within 10 mm of the thickness were not enough to be used as X-ray shields in the CT Room because they did not reach the PV of the 1.5 mm thickness lead. BaSO4 concentration of 50 % at 20 mm thickness showed PV of 1.5 mm lead thickness or more indicating that it has an X-ray shielding ability to replace lead in the CT room
