Web is becoming a necessary element of information acquisition methods for us who live in an information and knowledge-oriented society, as it is today. It is deriving a revolutionary change on various parts of our society, such as education, culture, etc. Also due to epoch-making development and diversification of web-related technologies and content types, the knowledge, technique and complexity of web users also accompanied it. In this research web-related education of schools for the visually handicapped and current situation of web access of such students are seized, their problems related to web access are analyzed, and efficient alternatives for web implementation to solve those problems were suggested. On the other hand, since this research is a survey targeting information and computer related teachers of 12 schools for the visually handicapped within Korea, it has the restriction that it does not include the analysis of current state of charity facilities which are not regular education institutions. Moreover, the content of the survey is composed by considering totally blind students, thus more detailed survey should also be conducted for weak-sighted students as well.

Many studies have reported that each evaluation had a stronger effect on the development of a student's teaming ability. Nevertheless, in reality schools rely on the results of summative evaluation after the lesson only for the purpose of learning evaluation. Such a method of evaluation is a result-oriented learning evaluation, with no consideration of developing process of loaming ability of each student. Existing learning evaluation has been considered difficult to process learning performance ability in a clearer manner, as it examines teaming performance ability by diagnostic evaluation and learning ability improvement by formative evaluation, separately. Therefore, this paper proposes a learning evaluation method incorporating diagnostic and formative evaluation, using a Fuzzy inference, for a more objective assessment of performance ability. The proposed method assessed teaming ability based on different weight values, in order to reflect the level of diagnostic and formative evaluation.

In the comprehension of English texts, Korean students generally try to translate English into Korean in accordance with the word order of Korean language. As a result, the comprehension of English texts is made in a regressive way, which results in slower reading. In order to enhance the reading speed, it is necessary for students to practice progressive reading. Also, while reading English texts, most readers' eyes tend to look at one word at a time, which actually cuts down on the reading speed. Reading by the sense group of as many words as possible at a glance, however, can help a reader more efficiently in less time. This research aims at developing the Powerpoint program for progressive reading by the sense group according to the student's level. In this program, as for methodology, the technique of rooking it fade-away is introduced to force a reader's eyes to move fast. Through this technique, it is possible to make a line of the texts disappear on the screen and make another line appear, which enables a reader to sweep the words across each and every line of the reading material smoothly without regression.

This study proposes a new instructional strategy and corresponding materials designed from various alternative frameworks to help students understand evolution as a biologically acceptable theory. Biology teachers have normally taught the evolutionary mechanism by means of comparing Lamarckism with natural selection. In this study, a new instructional strategy in which the Lamarckian explanation is first excluded because Lamarckism is known to be subsumed in a learner's cognitive structure as a strong preconception of evolution is suggested for teaching evolution. After mutation theory is introduced, Darwinism including natural selection is explained separately during the next class hour. Corresponding instructional materials that aid student understanding of the evolutionary mechanism were developed using recently published articles on human genetic traits as scientific evolutionary evidence instead of the traditional evolutionary subject matter, giraffe neck. Evolutionary evidence from human genetic traits allows students to exclude anthropocentric thoughts effectively and raise concern for the phenomenon of evolution positively. The administered instructional strategy and materials in this research improved student conception, concern, and belief of evolution and it is believed that they helped students understand the evolutionary mechanism effectively.

In the present study, optimal heat supply algorithm which minimize the heat loss through the distribution pipe line in group energy apartment was developed. Variation of heating load of group energy apartment building in accord with the outdoor air temperature was predicted by the heating load-outdoor temperature correlation. Supply water temperature and mass flow rate were controlled to minimize the heat loss through distribution pipe line. District heating apartment building located in Hwaseong city, which has 1,473 households, was selected as the object building for testing the present heat supply a1gorithm. Compared to the previous heat supply system, 10.4% heat loss reduction can be accomplished by employing the present method.

Analogical reasoning is a central component of human cognition and contributes to scientific discovery and to develop science education. In this study, we investigated the process features of lower elementary school students' analogical reasoning to explain mixture concept. The subjects are 24 lower elementary students. And the research design includes three phases instruction to investigate the features of students' self generated analogy. Phase 1 is the introduction of analogy in which student learn to use analogy. Phase 2 is a POE class about mixture conception. Piaget and Inhelder studied the conception of mixing among children in relation to cognitive development. In phase 2, we taught the student with Piaget and Inhelder's the experiment and observed the features of learning process about mixture conception. Phase 3 is students' generation of analogy (self generated analogy) for the experienced phenomena in phase 2. We analyzed the students' responses through the three phases in the view of Gentner's Structure Mapping Theory. The results showed that many lower elementary school students even before formal operation stage understood the mixture conception and made well their self generated analogy to explain the mixture conception in spite of the difficulty of making self generated analogy.

Changwon National University has been developing and using a computerized supporting system named SAVIORS for ABEEK(Accreditation Board for Engineering Education of Korea) related tasks since the year of 2001. The main purpose of the development of SAVIORS is to totally computerize all tasks related to ABTEK so that faculty staff may perform their job as readily and efficiently as possible. In this paper, detailed functions and utilization records of the SAVIORS are introduced for sharing the advantages of the system with other institutes.

Background: The purpose of this study was to investigate a study about undergraduate students' participation in general sports. Method: A questionnaire survey was conducted on 200 students attending physical therapy at Gimcheon university students. four items of general characteristics, 2 conditions of sports for all, 2 activities of current sports for all, and 1 thing of sports for all, were extracted from the questionnaires of total 40 items. Result: In the present study, it was found that through the cross-sectional analysis of various variables related to life sports activities according to grade, sex, age and living cost level, students participated in less sports activities than other college students. And they participated in non-living sports activities such as appreciation and movie appreciation. In addition, it was found that factors such as watching sports games mainly affect the lives of women, especially with less sports activities, and men are more active at 20 to 28 years of age than those aged 20. Conclusion: These findings suggest that it is necessary to provide various opportunities to encourage the physical activities of female students and young students of the university and actively participate in sports for all.

Various robots were developed for harvesting fruits and vegetables. However, each robot was designed for a specific task such as harvesting apples or vegetables. This has been a big hurdle in application of robots to agriculture. A new type of hybrid manipulator with both parallel and serial joints was developed and designed to apply to various kinds of field operations. The hybrid manipulator had 2 extra degree of freedom in serial joints which made it flexible in switching one to the other type of hybrid manipulator, for example, PUMA to SCARA. And it was designed to harvest heavy fruits such as musky melons or water melons even behind leaves or branches of tree. This hybrid manipulator showed less than $\pm1mm$ position error. It was concluded that the hybrid manipulator was an effective and feasible tool to perform various works and to increase working performance.

This study investigates an undergraduate student's environmental club experience by employing a biographical research method. The informant has been member of the environmental club since he is a freshman. The purpose of this study is three points. First, which theoretical framework is suitable to explain the characteristics of environmental club experience ? Second, what is the characteristics of the informant's environmental club experience analysed by means of the theoretical framework ? Finally, what is the educational meaning of environmental club experience ? As a result, I find that environmental identity is very powerful framework to explain the characteristics of environmental club experience. Also, I explain the informant's environmental club experience as the formation of environmental identity by changes in three aspects. In the informant's life, cultural world of environment/environmental movement becomes salient which is closely connected with development of agency in the world and understanding how environmental problems can be solved. It is argued that environmental club experience has educational meaning in the studies and practices of environmental education, as follows. Environmental club experience has implications of redefining the goals of environmental education, and improving environmental problem solving learning. Finally, the informant's environmental identity is considered as reflexive identity which is formed through personal reflection of his experience.
