The main points of issue with the former premedical curriculum of Seoul National University College of Medicine (SNUCM) were the absence of educational objectives, decline in student motivation caused by uniform education, students' lack of a sense of belonging, and lack of humanistic education. In accordance with these issues, there were five aspects considered for the improvement of the premedical curriculum: reform based on the newly established educational objectives that corresponds with the 6-year medical school curriculum as a whole, expansion of elective courses and the development of personalized curriculum for the improvement of students' learning motives, expansion of social sciences and humanities curriculum for the development of students' capabilities as good doctors, active participation of medical professors in premedical education, and expansion of informal education and the student support program. According to the assessment done after the implementation of the reformed curriculum, premedical students were gratified with its establishment and management of multifarious liberal arts and major subjects. In preparation of the more rigorous entrance quota of the premedical school at SNUCM, there is ongoing reform of required major subjects and establishment of new subjects in the premedical curriculum in pursuit of unity with the 6-year medical curriculum. Moreover, there is ongoing development of an e-portfolio system for the association of premedical and medical education, integration of formal and informal curriculum, and reinforcement of student observation and formative evaluation. Further discussion on the assessment and betterment of premedical curriculum is needed.

The purpose of the study was to explore the uses and gratification of social media among first-year student groups at a satellite campus of a public university in Ghana. The study employed a descriptive survey design. The study involved all 1061 first-year university students in six academic departments of the College. A total of 680 (64%) participants returned validly completed copies of the questionnaire. Descriptive statistics and thematic analysis were employed for data analysis. The findings indicate that WhatsApp was the most popular application for social media groups, while a need for information-sharing, peer-tutoring and learning, and finding and keeping friends were the primary motivations for joining social media groups. First-year students are involved mainly in reactive activities, as most engage when solving an academic assignment through group discussions. Though challenges persist, such as posting of unwanted images, inadequate participation, and ineffective and irrelevant communication, most are willing to continue their social media groups' membership in the long term. This study provides valuable insight into transitioning students' lived experiences on social media from the group perspective. These insights are valuable conceptually and practically to academic counsellors, librarians and student affairs officers who are expected to provide on-going education on (social) media literacy to first-year students to enhance the adjustment process. The study is the first of its kind in Ghana that investigates social media group participants' exit intentions.
Current medical students are a distinct new generation who can be distinguished from the previous generation. Therefore, a clear understanding of their characteristics is vital in developing an appropriate educational program for them. The purpose of this article is to explore the characteristics of the current generation of high achieving medical students. Notable characteristics that define this generation include the following: they feel they are special, and they are sheltered, confident, highly optimistic, pressured, conventional, and have a strong desire to achieve. They are the digital generation, who can obtain information through various forms of technology. Furthermore, they are high achieving students in highly competitive educational environments. It has been suggested that various teaching methods be used in the medical school classroom. Using digital methods could be crucial in providing high-quality medical education. Educators should pay more attention to students' psychosocial development and help them to effectively cope with their academic stress.

The student dropout prediction is an indispensable for many intelligent systems to measure the educational system and success rate of all university. Therefore, in this paper, we propose an intelligent dropout prediction system that minimizes the situation by adopting the proactive process through an effective model that predicts the students who are at risk of dropout. In this paper, the main data sets for students dropout predictions was used as questionnaires and university information. The questionnaire was constructed based on theoretical and empirical grounds about factor affecting student's performance and causes of dropout. University Information included student grade, interviews, attendance in university life. Through these data sets, the proposed dropout prediction model techniques was classified into the risk group and the normal group using statistical methods and Naive Bays algorithm. And the intelligence dropout prediction system was constructed by applying the proposed dropout prediction model. We expect the proposed study would be used effectively to reduce the students dropout in university.

The purpose of this study is to examine the effects of teacher on fourth-grade students' attitudes toward mathematics using data from TIMSS 2011. Students' attitudes toward mathematics included interest in learning mathematics, interest in mathematics lessons, and confidence in their mathematics ability. Teacher factors included mathematics professional development, confidence in teaching mathematics, teacher-centered mathematics instruction, and enhancing student mathematical thinking. The two level Hierarchical Linear Model was employed to analyze the relationship between teacher factors and student attitudes. Results showed that teacher-centered mathematics instruction significantly and positively predicted students' confidence about their mathematics ability. The findings suggest that school systems and mathematics educators need to provide teachers with the curriculum, assessment, and research-based practices and knowledge to overcome the obstacles to change their mathematics classroom.

The paper-and-pencil multiplce choise test has been widely used to identify gifted and talented student in Korea. Such test have several drawbacks; such~a s not being able to assess creative problem solving abilities and high level thinking abilities which are important characteristics of gifted students. The Korean Educational Development Institute (KEDI) developed a performance assessment which challenged traditional methods of identification. The 5-day summer camp was held to select gifted students for the Korean Minjok Leadership Academy. 211 students were evaluated in the aspects of creative problem solving abilities, high level thinking abilities, task commitments, and cooperativeness with various performance tasks, such as essay tests, conversations, oral examinations, computer simulations, puzzles, experiments, group discussions, debates, research reports, and games. As a result, it was found that there were several limitations of the performance assessment in terms of low reliability, requiring high costs and many professionals, and taking long times and large spaces. Expanding and continuing research should follow in order for a performance assessment to use widely as an identification methods because it assesses 'true' abilities of each individual student. follow in order for a performance assessment to use widely as an identification methods because it assesses 'true' abilities of each individual student.
