간호학생의 OSCE모듈 개발 및 실기평가의 경험 (A Clinical Skill Test using OSCE Modules Developed by Nursing Students)

  • Purpose: OSCE, Objective Structured Clinical Examination, is a good way to evaluate clinical skills of nursing students. To do this, we need modules, evaluators, persons to run the examination, as well as models and standardized patients if necessary. Author coached nursing students to develop modules and ran the examination by themselves. Method: 24 third-year and 4 first-year students volunteered; third-year students developed 5 modules, and organized and ran the examination. First-year students played patient role. 60 2nd-year students participated as examinees. Modules were duplicated to finish examination in a given time. The relationship between OSCE score, conventional clinical evaluation score and credit of students was compared. Effect of module duplication on score was tested. And responses of examinees were collected. Results: There was no correlation between OSCE and conventional clinical evaluation score (r=0.07), and credit (r=0.27), And there was no difference of OSCE score between duplicated modules $(53.77{\pm}7.61$ vs $55.33\pm7.74).$ Response of examinees to OSCE was favorable. Examinee did not expressed resistance for the evaluation by OSCE developed and ran by students. Conclusion: Nursing students successfully developed and ran OSCE, which was accepted favorably by examinees. Student-developed OSCE may play a role in evaluation of clinical performance.

Comparative Molecular Analysis of Freshwater Centric Diatoms with Particular Emphasis on the Nuclear Ribosomal DNA of Stephanodiscus (Bacillariophyceae)

  • DNA-based discrimination of species is a powerful way for morphologically otherwise similar species, like centric diatoms. Here, the author sequenced long-range nuclear ribosomal DNAs, spanning from the 18S to the D5 region of the 28S rDNA, of Stephanodiscus, particularly including a Korean isolate. By comparisons, high DNA similarities were detected from the rDNAs of nine Stephanodiscus (>99.4% in 18S rDNA, >98.0% in 28S rDNA). Their genetic distances, however, were significantly different (Kruskal-Wallis test, p < 0.01) compared to two related genera, namely Cyclotella and Discostella. In addition, genetic distances of 18S rDNAs were significantly different (Student’s t-test, p = 0.000) against those of the 28S rDNAs according to individual genera (Cyclotella, Discostella, and Stephanodiscus). Phylogenetic analyses showed that Stephanodiscus and Discostella showed a sister taxon relationship, and their clade was separated from a cluster of Cyclotella (1.00 PP, 100% BP). This suggests that Stephanodiscus has highly conserved sequences of both 18S and 28S rDNA; however, Stephanodiscus is well-separated from other freshwater centric diatoms, such as Cyclotella and Discostella, at the generic level.

애플리케이션형 텍스트북 제작툴과 수업관리시스템의 융합형 교육서비스 개발방안 (Development of the Convergent Education Service with the Application Type of the Textbook Development Tool and Class Management System)

  • It is the concept of this paper to build up the convergence type of the total class service system, and the goal is to develop the education services, which are differentiated from existing digital textbooks and development tools. We establish developmental programs and convergence strategies from market analyses related to apps and digital education. Then this paper proposes 'E-Class Author Service System (ECA)' as an education service system based on the tablet PC. It is the convergence system of the app type of textbook development tool and class management system. Teachers can produce and develop class materials and textbooks using the app type of textbook development tool in ECA service system. They can also add necessary functions from the class management system for efficient class progress. ECA improves the interaction and communication between a teacher, student and parents in the sever-based network. This study expects that ECA will achieve prior occupation of the app market as an educational app development tool and reduce private education expenses.

협동학습이 간호학생의 학습성과와 수업경험의 질에 미치는 효과 (Effectiveness of Cooperative Learning on Nursing Students' Performance and Experience)

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study was to identify the effectiveness of the JigsawⅣ cooperative learning in a facilitative communication class of nursing students. Achievement, communication skill, self-directed learning and experience during the class were measured. Method: This study was a pretest and posttest design with two subject groups. 43 students were in experimental (JigsawⅣ) group and 47 ones were in control (general small discussion) group. Classes were conducted over a 6-week period. The collected data was analyzed by the SPSS 12.0 program. Result: After taking part in the educational program, the experimental group had significantly more improvement in communication skill (F=6.81, p=.002) and self-directed learning (F=11.81, p=.000). In addition, the experimental group showed significantly higher scores for concentration in the class (t=2.26, p=.27), positive emotional state (t=3.01, p=.003) and active participation (t=2.78, p=.007) compared to the control group. However, the achievement between the two groups was not significantly different (F=3.29, p=.073). Conclusion: The findings of this study show that JigsawⅣ cooperative learning has positive effects in improvement of communication skill and self-directed learning. Also, students were excited and interested in the class during cooperative learning. Based on these findings, the author suggests developing additional educational programs focusing on nursing students.

Mieko Han의 한국어 음성학 연구 (Mieko Han and her Works on Korean Phonetics)

  • This paper deals with a general review of Mieko S. Han, who made a significant contribution to the studies of Korean phonetics during the 1960' s and early 1970' s. As both a single and joint author, Dr. Han published important papers in both quantity and quality, which have been cited among Korean phoneticians until today. Before Dr. M. Han' s work, professor of USC in the department of East Asian Languages & Cultures, there were only a few phonetics-related publications in Korea, most of which are papers or books based on non-experimental traditional approach. It is known that there was coexistence between traditionalism and structuralism in the field of Korean linguistics. It was, however, fortunate that we had two important phoneticians (M. Han and Chin-W Kim) abroad at that time. Mieko Han' s concern was to investigate experimental characteristics of the system of Korean vowels and consonants using a Spectrograph, which was the single most important tool for analysing phonetic data at that time. Dr. Han conducted her experimental studies on Korean phonetics, mostly funded by the Office of Naval Research, in terms of duration, fundamental frequency, Voice Onset Time (VOT), intensity, and so on. This paper aims to re-appreciate Dr. Han's specific contribution to the study of Korean phonetics since she played an important role as a pioneer of early Korean phonetics. Further, it is highly recommended that Dr. Han's works can be extremely useful for a graduate student, who seriously would like to specialize in Korean phonetics in the first step.

대학생의 성격 5요인이 기업가정신에 미치는 영향 -몰입 및 자기효능감의 매개효과를 중심으로- (The Effects of Big 5 personality on Entrepreneurship of the College Student -Focusing on the Moderating Effects of Flow and Self-efficacy-)

  • 본 연구는 대학생의 성격 5요인이 기업가정신에 영향을 미치는지 확인하고자 하였다. 특히 몰입 및 자기효능감이 매개효과가 있는지도 탐색적으로 확인하였다. 연구 결과 첫째, 대학생의 성격 5요인은 기업가정신에 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 둘째, 성격 5요인이 자기효능감에 미치는 영향력은 차이가 있었다. 셋째, 성격 5요인과 매개변인인 자기효능감이 기업가정신에 미치는 영향력은 모두 유의미하였다. 또한 모든 모형에서 매개변인인 자기효능감이 성격 5요인과 기업가정신과의 관계를 부분매개하는 것으로 나타났다. 이러한 연구 결과에 근거하여 시사점을 제시하고 미래 연구를 제안하였다.

학교보건지표의 해외 동향과 국제 비교 (The Trend and International Comparison of Overseas School Health Indicators)

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study was to identify the trend of overseas school health indicators and to investigate indicators comparable internationally. Methods: Using the key words, school, health, indicators and policy through formal literature and web sites, the resources were used after the completeness of resources such as the presence of author, year published and place, and reproducibility was evaluated. Results: In overseas, the interest of school health indicators has increased gradually since 1960. Quality indicators as well as quantitative indicators are important as the good school health indicators. The overseas school health indicators have been very comprehensive, not only including students, but also including the expanded population such as school personnel, parents, family and community, process and outcomes, policies, social and cultural environment. The trend of school health research is from traditional issue-based to indicatorbased which makes comprehensive interpretation including development of school health service and life satisfaction. Among internationally comparable indicators, Health Behaviour in School-aged Children (HBSC) and Global School-based Student Health Survey (GSHS) were chiefly for students' health and behavior level, and the School Health Service Survey (SHS) was for school health service personnel and policy. Conclusion: Characteristics of overseas school health indicators were expanded population, and comprehensive and internationally comparable indicators. Therefore, Korea school health indicators need to be comprehensive using expanded population and qualitative indicators, and consider standardized indicators comparable internationally.

『부적』: 광기의 시대와 구원으로서의 문학 (Amulet: The era of madness and the literature as salvation)

  • Even though Chilean writer Roberto $Bola{\tilde{n}}o^{\prime}s$ novel Amulet was inspired by a historical account, it significantly rewrites the story as well as redefines the people who witnessed the history. This novel focuses on the Uruguayan poet Auxilio Lacouture, the self-anointed "mother of Mexican Poetry". She is trapped in a bathroom at the UNAM in Mexico City for thirteen days while the army storms the campus for the repression of the student movement, which was decreed by the sinister Díaz Ordaz and culminated in the holocaust of Tlatelolco. In the space isolated from the outside world, Auxilio attempts to reconstruct the past and to describe the future through an illogical exercise of times. In the meantime, her temporal recollections finally approach the definition of a generation whose historical experience is crucially marked by the key year of 1968, when the novel is set. The only one who remained on the campus, she defends the university's autonomy only by reading and writing poetry. The novel ends in a scene densely imbued with allegorical imagination, by which the author endeavors to justify her generation, more concretely, "the peoples without history", as defined by bohemian poets. The protagonist represents, in some sense, an allegory of the innocence and truth of the history. Her existence per se manifestly demonstrates the power of literature because the literature within this novel in short becomes the most resilient amulet resisting the political violence in an era of increasing madness.

국내외 대학도서관에서 사용되는 도서관전산화시스템의 이용자 평가연구 - 학생이용자 집단을 중심으로 - (A Uer Evaluation Study of Library Computer Systems by Specific Student User Groups In Selected Academic Libraries both in the Republic of Korea and in the States)

  • 이용자들이 도서관의 전산화된 정보시스템을 사용하거나 관련 업무종사자들이 정보시스템을 개발하고 채택·운영하는 데 있어 최상의 선택을 내리는 데는 어떤 특정 이용자그룹에 대한 특성과 이용 능력에 대한 이해가 필수적일 것이다. 본 연구는 국내외 대학도서관에서 사용되는 도서관 전산화시스템 중 특히 중요한 온라인열람목록의 이용자들에게 실제 검색을 (저자명, 서명, 주제명 탐색) 실시한 후, 이들의 검색 능력을 측정·평가하여 다양하게 분류된 특정 학생이용자집단의 능력을 발견하여 도서관 행정업무 등에 그 개선 방안을 제시하는 것이 그 목적이다. 설문조사는 대구경북지역의 대학에 재학중인 학생들을 대상으로 실시하였으며, 207개의 이용 가능한 데이터를 수집·분석하였다. 여러 종류의 기술적, 추리적, 다변량적 통계방법을 동원하여 분석하였으며, 통계처리는 SPSS를 사용하였다 데이터 분석을 통한 주요발견 사항은 본 논문의 4장과 5장 부분에 상세히 기술되어 있다. 이 발견사항으로부터 도출된 결론, 새로운 시스템 채용 운용시의 제언이 함께 제시되어 있다.

지리 용어에 대한 학습자의 블러핑(Bluffing) 유형에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Classification of Student's Bluffing on Geographical Terms)

  • 본 연구는 서답형 문항의 채점에서 평가의 객관성, 타당성, 신뢰성을 보장하기 위해 가장 중요한 주제의 하나인 블러핑 문제를 탐구한 것이다. 먼저 연구자는 블러핑의 개념과 주요 유형을 선행 연구를 바탕으로 이론적 수준에서 정리하였다. 다음으로, 한국지리 교과의 주요 용어를 사례로 학습자의 블러핑 전략과 유형을 실증적으로 분석해 보았다. 기존의 연구 보고와 비교할 때, 본 연구에서 밝혀진 전체 학생들의 평균적 블러핑율은 상당히 낮은 것으로 나타났다. 그러나, 남녀 학생의 블러핑율이 유사하다는 점, 최고 성적 집단의 블러핑율이 가장 낮았다는 점은 기존의 연구 보고와 유사하였다. 블러핑의 실제 유형은 크게 '발문의 반복 서술형', '기존 지식 편중형', '추상적 개념 활용형', '채점자 공감 유도형'의 네 가지로 구분되었다. 분석 결과를 토대로 보다 타당성과 신뢰성이 있는 서답형 문항 채점을 위해 몇 가지 시사점 및 과제를 다음과 같이 제안하였다. 첫째, 블러핑과 학생들의 성별 및 학령, 학습 성적 및 지적 수준, 학습자의 학습 스타일 등과의 관계에 대해 지속적인 연구가 필요하다. 둘째, 블러핑 유형과 사례 분석 내용이 포함된 서답형 문항 채점 매뉴얼 개발 보급 및 채점 관련 연수가 확대되어야 한다. 셋째, 일반적인 블러핑 유형 외에 지리 영역의 특수한 블러핑 유형을 탐구하는 실증적인 후속 연구가 요구된다.
