Fuzzy Cognitive Map-Based Simulation Framework for Supporting Electronic Commerce

  • As the Internet has been used widely in modern firms for gaining competitive advantage in the market, EC (Electronic Commerce) emerged as one of strong alternatives for this purpose. Many researchers and practitioners have proposed a wide variety of EC frameworks that can consider only the structured conditions, but there exists no EC mechanism in which engaged entities can take into account the various unstructured conditions. With the conventional EC framework, the structured EC conditions such as price, quantity, delivery date, etc. can be fully negotiated during the EC process. However, no studies have been conducted on the issue of incorporating those unstructured conditions which are difficult to represent in an explicit form and therefore hard to consider explicitly during the EC Process. They are characterized by causal properties. This means that we should have a new EC mechanism which is capable of dealing with causal knowledge. In this sense, we propose a FCM (Fuzzy Cognitive Map)-based simulation framework for EC to resolve the problem of considering the unstructured conditions during the EC process. We experimented our prototype with several illustrative examples and proved that our approach is robust and meaningful.

  • A design method for a teleoperator robot system is presented in this paper. The control system consists of two phases; approach phase and contact one. The end-effector position of the estimated slave robot and the contact force between the end-effector and wall are displayed on the monitors at control site, using which the operator controls the teleoperator system. The approach phase controller is designed using Smith's principle and the contact one designed based upon the structured singular value ${\mu}$ in order to increase the robustness of the system. The uncertainatices such as communication time delay and the variations of system parameters are considered as a muliplicative pertubation. Computer simulations are conducted in order to evaluate the performance of the proposed design method. It is found that desirable control performance, especially in the contact phase, is obtained if the control mode is switched into contact phase when the estimated position of the slave robot end-effector is in front of the wall.

  • To improve the quality of standards of information and communication, well-structured testing and certification procedure for interoperability must be established. Thus, the testing and certification by well-known organizations is very imperative to verify whether standards meet requirements of minimum components properly that are essential to implement products and services in practice focusing on interoperability testing area. In this paper, we investigate cases of abroad and the current situation of our country in order to establish the well-structured testing and certification system and promote researches for the testing and certification system as a national policy in coincidence with revision of relating systems in interoperability testing area. And then we intend to introduce desirable direction for the testing and certification system.

  • This paper proposes a hierarchically structured navigation algorithm for autonomous mobile robot under unknown environment based on fuzzy-neal network. The proposed algorithm consists of two basic layers as follows. The lower layer consists of two parts such as fuzzy algorithm for goal approach and fuzzy-neural algorithm for obstacle avoidance. The upper layer which is basically fuzzy algorithm adjusts the magnitude of the weighting factor depending on the environmental situation. The proposed algorithm provides an efficient method to escape local mimimum points as shown in the simulation result. Most simulation results show that this algorithm is very effective for autonomous mobile robots' traveling in unknown field.

  • Established XML at February, 1998 in W3C by solution about document processing and exchange and reusability to be shortcoming that early web happens using nonstructural document. Existing electron transaction is changing in electronic business form between corporation through XML base message exchange using XML. Necessity about solution that can masticate structured electron transaction of XML base that is used in electron transaction between corporation rose.   • Disk I/O is a major performance bottleneck of web proxy server. Today's most web proxy sowers are design to run on top of a general purpose file system. But general purpose file system can not efficiently handle web cache workload, small files, leading to the performance degradation of entire web proxy servers. In this paper we evaluate the performance potential of raw disk to reduce disk I/O overhead of web proxy servers. To show the performance potential of raw disk, we design a storage management system called Block-structured Storage Management System (BSMS). And we also actually implement web proxy server that incorporate BSMS in Squid. Comprehensive experimental evaluations show that raw disk can be a good solution to improve disk I/O performance significantly for web proxy servers.

  • This paper introduces new concept elevator door system with linear induction motor(LIM) featuring simple structured and direct drive mechanism, which makes up for the weak points of the conventional complex structured door system. The optimal configuration of linear door system and the design results of linear LIM will be proposed in this paper and the validation of LIM design results will be investigated through the test. In this study, high performance of drive controller applied vector control and optimum drive pattern also are suggested. In addition, this paper describes details of designing and manufacturing process of linear door system and investigates the performance by analysis and test. The analytical and experimental results of this paper are considered as the productive data for the development of new elevator door system.

  • In this paper, our effort to apply 3-D Virtual Reality system for stereoscopic visualization of mesh data on the web is briefly described. This study is an extension of our previous and on-going research efforts to develop an automatic grid generation program specialized for wing mesh, named as eGWing. The program is developed by using JAVA programming language, and it can be used either as an application program on a local computer or as an applet in the network environment. In this research advancing layer method(ALM) augmented by elliptic smoothing method is used for the structured grid generation. And to achieve a stereoscopic viewing capability, two graphic windows are used to render its own viewing image for the left and right eye respectively. These two windows are merged into one image using 3D monitor and the viewers can see the mesh data visualization results with stereoscopic depth effects by using polarizing glasses. In this paper three dimensional mesh data visualization with stereoscopic technique combined with 3D monitor is demonstrated, and the current achievement would be a good start-up for further development of low-cost high-quality stereoscopic mesh data visualization system which can be shared by many users through the web.

Cathode Properties of Sm-Sr-(Co,Fe,Ni)-O System with Perovskite and Spinel Structures for Solid Oxide Fuel Cell (고체산화물 연료전지의 페로브스카이트와 스피넬 구조를 갖는 Sm-Sr-(Co,Fe,Ni)-O 시스템의 공기극 특성)

  • Perovskite-structured samarium strontium cobaltite (SSC), which is mixed ionic electronic conductor (MIEC), is considered as a promising cathode material for intermediate temperature-operating solid oxide fuel cell (SOFC) due to its high electrocatalytic property. Cathode material containing cobalt (Co) is unstable at high temperature and has a relatively high thermal expansion property. In this paper, Sm-Sr-(Co,Fe,Ni)-O system with perovskite and spinel structures was investigated in terms of electrochemical property and thermal expansion property, respectively. Area specific resistance (ASR) was measured by ac impedance spectroscopy to investigate the electrochemical property of cathode, and thermal expansion coefficient (TEC) was measured by using dilatometer. Micro structure of cathode was observed by scanning electron microscopy. Perovskite-structured $Sm_{0.5}Sr_{0.5}CoO_{3-\delta}$ showed the ASR of $0.87{\Omega}/cm^{2}$, and $Sm_{0.5}Sr_{0.5}NiO_{3-\delta}$, which actually has a spinel structure, showed the lowest TEC value of $13.3{\times}10^{-6}/K$.

Simultaneous Detection Properties of Organic Vapor, Pressure Difference and Magnetic Field using a Rugate-structured Free-standing Porous Silicon Film (Rugate 구조를 갖는 자립형 다공성 실리콘 박막을 이용한 유기 증기, 압력차, 자기장의 동시 감응 특성)

  • In this study, we investigated the simultaneous detection properties of organic vapor, pressure difference, and magnetic field using a single rugate-structured free-standing porous silicon (RFPS) thin film. Both the wavelength and the intensity of the rugate peaks were changed in the reflectivity spectrum measured at the thin film surface while the organic vapor was exposed to the RFPS thin film. However, when the pressure difference and the magnetic field were exposed to the film, only the rugate peak intensity was changed. Therefore, it is possible to distinguish whether or not the organic vapor is detected by simultaneously changing the rugate peak wavelength and intensity. In addition, a method of distinguishing between the pressure difference and the magnetic field detection signal has been derived by rapidly modulating the direction of the magnetic field. This study shows that it is possible to simultaneously detect and distinguish various objects using a single RFPS thin film, and it is found that porous silicon can be utilized as a sensor sufficiently.
