  • Use case modeling is a widely used technique for functional requirements analysis of business system but it is difficult to identify a use cases at the right level and use case specifications are too long and confusing. It is also hard to determine a functional decomposition Phases·s of use cases. Therefore customer doesn't understand the use cases. This paper is defining concept of the Information Structure Modeling(ISM) and analyzing business system for the customer's perspective. ISM is an efficient mechanism for analyzing user requirements and for Identifying objects in a business system using Attribute Structure Diagram which is a major tool of the ISM that describes user event. This paper is also to show how the classes are classified and derived as event-asset-transaction type in ISM. It provides a user-friendly approach to visually representing business model.

  • Structure and/or fluid analysis is gradually increased by an essential design process in the small and medium-sized businesses (SMBs) because of the needs for a rapid design process and the certification about the supplement of the parts by the large business (LB). In this paper, we developed the web-based ezSIM platform installed in the resources integrated system server. The ezSIM platform is based on the heterogeneous linux and windows operating system for the user-friendly connection with the part of the analysis for the SMBs. The procedure of the structure/fluid analysis service module using the public software and the license-free open code in the ezSIM platform was explained. The convenience of the ezSIM platform service was presented by the reaction rate of the graphic motion compared with that of a local PC and the solving and pre-post processing interface compared with that of the KISTI supercomputer. The web-based ezSIM platform service was identified as a useful and essential platform to the SMBs for the usage of the structure and/or fluid analysis procedure.

  • As the use of composite materials of woven structure has expanded to various fields such as automobile and aviation industry, there has been a need for reliability problems and prediction of mechanical properties of woven composites. In this study, finite element analysis for predicting the mechanical properties of composite materials with different weaving structures was conducted to verify similarity with experimental static properties and an effective modeling method was developed. To reflect the characteristics of the weave structure, the meso-scale representative volume element (RVE) was used in modeling. Three-dimensional modeling was carried out by separating the yarn and the pure matrix. Hashin's failure criterion was used to determine whether the element was failed, and the simulation model used a progressive failure model which was suitable for the composite material. Finally, the accordance of the modeling and simulation technique was verified by successfully predicting the mechanical properties of the composite material according to the weave structure.

  • System Entity Structure/Model Base (SES/MB) enhances organizing model families and storing and reusing model components in the multifaceted system modeling. However, the real world can be described not only an individual system but also a collection of those systems, which is called system of systems (SoS). Because SES/MB has a limitation to simulate the SoS using HLA/RTI, an extended framework is required to simulate it. Therefore, this paper proposes System of Systems Entity Structure/Federate Base (SoSES/FB) for simulation in a distributed environment (HLA/RTI). The proposed method provides the library of federates (FB) and System of System Entity Structure (SoSES) formalism, which represents structural knowledge of a collection of simulators. It also provides a methodology for the development process of distributed simulation. The paper introduces the anti-missile defense simulation using the proposed SoSES/FB.

  • A method for measuring the length and slope of a temporary structure using an unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) and 3D modeling method is proposed. The actual length and slope of the vertical member of the specimen were measured and compared with the measured values obtained by the proposed method for the specimens with and without the vertical protection net installed. Based on the result of measuring the length of the temporary structure specimen using the UAV and 3D modeling method, the measured value showed an error of 0.87% when compared to the actual length in the specimen without the vertical protection net installed. In addition, the error of the slope was 0.63°. It was thought that the proposed method could be usable for the purpose of finding parts in wrong installation state on the temporary structure and informing the manager in charge. However, in the case of the specimen with the vertical protection net, the measurement showed a 1.46% error in length and 2.77° difference in slope. Therefore, if a vertical protection net is to be installed in a temporary structure, the measurement accuracy should be improved by utilizing an image processing method, etc.

  • Neuro-Fuzzy modeling approach is proposed to predict the dynamic behavior of a single-degree-of-freedom structure that is equipped with hybrid base isolation system. Hybrid base isolation system consists of friction pendulum systems (FPS) and a magnetorheological (MR) damper. Fuzzy model of the M damper is trained by ANFIS using various displacement, velocity, and voltage combinations that are obtained from a series of performance tests. Modelling of the FPS is carried out with a nonlinear analytical equation that is derived in this study and neuro-fuzzy training. Fuzzy logic controller is employed to control the command voltage that is sent to MR damper. The dynamic responses or experimental structure subjected to various earthquake excitations are compared with numerically simulated results using neuro-fuzzy modeling method. Numerical simulation using neuro-fuzzy models of the MR damper and FPS predict response of the hybrid base isolation system very well.

  • Thromboxane A2 receptors (TXA2-R) are the G protein coupled receptors localized on cell membranes and intracellular structures and play pathophysiological role in various thrombosis/hemostasis, modulation of the immune response, acute myocardial infarction, inflammatory lung disease, hypertension and nephrotic disease. TXA2 receptor antagonists have been evaluated as potential therapeutic agents for asthma, thrombosis and hypertension. The role of TXA2 in wide spectrum of diseases makes this as an important drug target. Hence in the present study, homology modeling of TXA2 receptor was performed using the crystal structure of squid rhodopsin and night blindness causing G90D rhodopsin. 20 models were generated using single and multiple templates based approaches and the best model was selected based on the validation result. We found that multiple template based approach have given better accuracy. The generated structures can be used in future for further binding site and docking analysis.

  • A radiation analysis is performed for the Ka and Ku-band transponder of the Communications and Broadcasting Satellite (CBS) that is planned for launch into the geo-synchronous orbit. A particular attention is given to calculation of Total Ionizing Dose (TID) for the mission life time of 15 + 3 years. A numerical modeling of the charged particles at the geo-synchronous orbit is undertaken. The charged particles from the modeling are then transported through the mechanical structure and component housings of the transponder. A set of locations are selected for the detailed calculation of TID. The results from the present calculation show that three-dimensional modeling of the component housings as well as the mechanical structure of the spacecraft is requisite in order to acquire a reliable calculation of TID.

  • As microeletronics technology continues to progress, there is also a continuous demand on highly integration and miniaturization of systems. For example, it is desirable to package several integrated circuits together in multilayer structure, such as multichip modules, to achieve higher levels of compactness and higher performance. Passive components (i.e., capacitors, resistors, and inductors) are very important for many MCM applications. In addition, the low-temperature co-fired ceramic (LTCC) process has considerable potential for embedding passive components in a small area at a low cost. In this paper, we investigate a method of statistically modeling integrated passive devices from just a small number of test structures. A set of LTCC inductors is fabricated and their scattering parameters (5-parameters) are measured for a range of frequencies from 50MHz to 5GHz. An accurate model for each test structure is obtained by using a building block based modeling methodology and circuit parameter optimization using the HSPICE circuit simulator.

  • Korean secondary school students (n=263) responded to surveys measuring their family contexts and school adjustment during the time period August-September 2004. Structure Equation Modeling tests were conducted to identify the nested model on school adjustment, a latent variable constructed with peer relations, teacher-adolescent relations, and academic attitude. In the nested model, parental involvement was a powerful predictor for school adjustment. Family conflict had a negative impact on school adjustment and was statistically significantly when correlated with the other predictors in the model. These finding suggested that family contexts play an important role in Korean adolescents' school adjustment. Hence, adolescents' perceived GPA level and satisfaction for school were important predictors for school adjustment.
