초음파현미경을 이용한 오스테나이트 스테인레스강의 재료특성 평가 (Evaluation of Material Properties in Austenite Stainless Steel Sheet with Scanning Acoustic Microscopy)

  • Austenite stainless steel 304 has properties of high resistance to corrosion and temperature changes. Therefore, this material is widely used in various of industries. However, when the material is subjected to heating and cooling cycles the forming accuracy, for example, the right angle associated with a sharp bend such as corner is lost. This phenomenon is caused by the reversion of the deformation-induced martensite into austenite when the temperature in increased. This result in misfit of a structure or an assembly, and an increase in residual stress. Hence, it is important to understand this process. In this study, to evaluate the mechanical behavior of the deformation-induced martensite and reversed austenite, a scanning acoustic spectroscope including the capability of obtaining both phase and amplitude of the ultrasonic wave (i.e., the complex V(z) curve method) was used. Then, the velocities of the SAW propagating within the specimens made in different conditions were measured. The experimental differences of the SAW velocities obtained in this experiment were ranging from 2,750 m/s to 2,850 m/s, and the theoretical difference was 3.6% under the assumption that the SAW velocity was 2,800 m/s. The error became smaller as the martensite content was increased. Therefore, the SAW velocity may be a probe to estimate the marternsite content.

둥근 모서리를 갖는 절곡 자유돌출판의 유효폭 분석 (A Study on Effective Width of Press-Braked Steel Plates with a Free Edge)

  • 본 논문은 절곡 제작된 U형 단면 거더의 상부플랜지를 구성하는 자유돌출판의 좌굴거동 특성에 논하고자 한다. 절곡된 판 부재는 둥근 모서리를 가지므로 단면의 유효폭-두께비가 불명확하고 이에 따라 공칭 압축강도를 산정하는 데 모호한 면이 있다. 냉간성형에 의해 둥근 모서리를 갖는 자유돌출판의 등가유효폭을 평가하기 위해 3차원 유한요소해석을 수행하였다. 절곡에 따른 재료특성과 기하하적 특성을 반영하였다. 본 변수 해석적 연구로부터 각진 모서리를 갖는 일반적인 자유돌출판의 좌굴강도와 비교 분석하여 등가유효폭-두께비를 추정하였다. 국내 설계기준의 공칭 좌굴강도식이 근거하고 있는 이론식과의 비교를 통해 기준공식의 적용 방안에 대해 검토하였다.

공구경로 곡면을 이용한 이송속도 최적화 (Feedrate Optimization Using CL Surface)

  • In mold machining, there are many concave machining regions where chatter and tool deflection occur since MRR(material removal rate) increases as curvature increases even though cutting speed and depth of cut are constant. Boolean operation between stock and tool model is widely used to compute MRR in NC milling simulation. In finish cutting, the side step is reduced to about 0.3mm and tool path length is sometimes over loom, so Boolean operation takes long computation time and includes much error if the resolution of stock and tool model is larger than the side step. In this paper, curvature of CL (cutter location) surface and side step of tool path is used to compute the feedrate for constant MRR machining. The data structure of CL surface is Z-map generated from NC tool path. The algorithm to get local curvature from discrete data was developed and applied to compute local curvature of CL surface. The side step of tool path was computed by point density map which includes cutter location point density at each grid element. The feedrate computed from curvature and side step is inserted to new tool path to regulate MRR. The resultants were applied to feedrate optimization system which generates new tool path with feedrate from NC codes for finish cutting. The system was applied to the machining of speaker and cellular phone mold. The finishing time was reduced to 12.6%, tool wear was reduced from 2mm to 1.1mm and chatter marks and over cut on corner were reduced, compared to the machining by constant feedrate. The machining time was shorter to 17% and surface quality and tool was also better than the conventional federate regulation using curvature of the tool path.

Axial behavior of CFRP wrapped RC columns of different shapes with constant slenderness ratio

  • In composite materials technology, the fiber-reinforced polymers (FRP) have opened up new horizons in infrastructural engineering field for strengthening existing structures and components of structure. The Carbon fiber reinforced polymer (CFRP) sheets are well suited for RC columns to this application because of their high strength to weight ratio, good fatigue properties and excellent resistance to corrosion. The main focus of present experimental work is to investigate effect of shapes on axial behavior of CFRP wrapped RC columns having same cross-sectional area and slenderness ratio. The CFRP volumetric ratio and percentage of steel are also adopted constant for all the test specimens. A total of 18 RC columns with slenderness ratio four were cast. Nine columns were control and the rest of nine columns were strengthened with one layer of CFRP wrap having 35 mm of corner radius. Columns confined with CFRP wrap were designed using IS: 456:2000 and ACI 440.2R.08 provisions. All the test specimens were loaded for axial compression up to failure and failure pattern for each shaped column was investigated. All the experimental results were compared with analytical values calculated as per the ACI-440.2R-08 code. The test results clearly demonstrated that the axial behavior of CFRP confined RC columns is affected with the change in shapes. The axial deformation is higher in CFRP wrapped RC circular column as compared to square and rectangular columns. Stress-strain behaviour revealed that the yield strength gained from CFRP confinement was significant for circular columns as compare to square and rectangular columns. This behaviour may be credited due to effect of shape on lateral deformation in case of CFRP wrapped circular columns at effective confinement action.

교차형 스터브-슬롯 섭동 구조를 이용한 원형 편파 재구성 마이크로스트립 안테나 (A Reconfigurable Circularly Polarized Microstrip Antenna Based on Alternating Stub-Slot Perturbation)

  • 본 논문에서는 원형 편파 다이버시티를 구현하기 위하여 교차형 섭동 구조에 기반을 둔 새로운 원형 편파 재구성 마이크로스트립 안테나를 제안하였다. 제안한 안테나는 우회전 원형 편파와 좌회전 원형 편파를 동시에 구현하기 위하여 링 구조 방사체와 원형 편파의 방향을 선택하기 위한 두 개의 PIN 다이오드로 구성되었다. 방사체의 대각선 한 모서리에 슬롯 섭동과 스터브 섭동을 다이오드의 ON/OFF 상태를 조절함으로써, 제안한 안테나의 재구성 원형 편파는 잘 동작되고 또한 교차할 수 있었다. 또한 위성 통신 시스템 동작을 위하여 2.4 GHz의 S 대역에서 제안한 안테나는 이론적으로 분석하였고, 실험적으로 검증하였다. 제작된 안테나의 모의실험과 측정실험결과는 반사계수, 축비, 안테나 이득, 및 방사패턴에서 잘 일치함을 확인하였다.

다중 평면의 3차원 모서리를 이용한 레이저 거리센서 및 카메라의 정밀 보정 (An Accurate Extrinsic Calibration of Laser Range Finder and Vision Camera Using 3D Edges of Multiple Planes)

  • 레이저 거리센서와 비전 카메라의 정보를 융합하기 위해서는 두 센서 사이의 상대적인 위치관계를 설명하는 외부 파라미터를 정확하게 보정하는 것이 필수적이다. 본 논문에서는 레이저 거리센서와 카메라 좌표계 간의 외부 파라미터를 기존에 알려진 방법보다 쉬우면서도 정확하게 획득할 수 있는 새로운 보정 방법을 제안하고자 한다. 본 논문에서 제안한 방법의 접근법은 레이저 거리센서로 획득한 3차원 구조물의 모서리 정보를 영상으로 투영하였을 때 반드시 하나의 직선상에 존재해야 한다는 것을 제약조건으로 한다. 이러한 제약조건을 만족하는 3차원 기하모델을 제시하고 이 모델의 에너지 함수를 최소화하기 위한 수치적 해법을 소개한다. 또한 높은 정밀도의 보정을 위하여 레이저 거리정보 및 카메라 영상의 획득 과정에 대해서도 상세히 설명한다. 실험을 통해 제안된 방법의 성능이 기존의 방법에 비하여 보다 높은 정밀도를 보임을 확인할 수 있었다.

이옥이 본 조선 후기 완주 송광사의 가람배치와 대웅전의 구조 (The Site Plan and the Design of Daeungjeon(Main Buddhist Hall) of Songgwangsa Temple Seen by Yi Ok, in the Late Joseon Period)

  • While going into troops for writing in the vignette style(小品文) in opposition to the Classical Chinese(古文), Yi Ok stopped by Songgwangsa Temple in Wanju. The things he felt during this stop were recorded in the Temple Chapter("寺觀") written in 1795. Therefore, the present dissertation evaluates the Songgwangsa Temple of the time based on this Temple Chapter. Data in the Temple Chapter draws attention to the fact that it records the layout of the temple in detail. Thus the study was able to confirm the change in layout by reviewing relevant records about repair. This reveals that the form of layout in general has been maintained although there were changes involving the relocation of the buildings and their names. Furthermore, the original Buddhist building was changed to a quarter for the monks. Also, in terms of layout after the 18th century, there are frequent name changes of the Myeongbujeon(冥府殿) and Nahanjeon(羅漢殿). After two repairs, in order to find the appearance of a Daeungjeon(Main Buddhist hall) with a two-storied structure of five bays at the front, the study evaluated the Geugnakjeon at Muryangsa Temple and the Daeungbojeon at Magoksa Temple. The evaluation revealed that the 'Jeol' used in the Temple Chapter were small pillars erected on a ridgepole just like the Geugnakjeon at Muryangsa Temple, and that the angle rafters were installed to corner bays in rectangular form. The intellectual Yi Ok left behind invaluable architectural data that reveals the Songgwangsa Temple of the 18th century.

자기충전 콘크리트의 재생골재 혼입을 위한 실험적 연구 (Experimental Study on mixing of Recycled Concrete Fine Aggregate in Self-Consolidating Concrete)

  • 최근 구조물의 보수 보강 및 해체시 발생하는 건설폐기물이 많은 문제점을 갖고 있다는 건 국내 외적으로 잘 알려진 기정사실이다. 본 연구에서는 건설폐기물, 특히 건설폐기물 중에서도 폐콘크리트에서 발생하는 재생잔골재의 품질을 확보하여, 고부가가치재(천연골재 대체재) 및 구조용 재료로써 사용 가능한지를 검토 하였다. 또한, 근래에는 콘크리트 구조물의 구조적 성능을 개선시키기 위해 철근을 과밀 배근하게 함으로써 거푸집내의 채움 정도를 확보하기 위한 고성능 콘크리트의 필요성이 대두되기 시작하였는데 즉, 별도의 다짐 없이 과밀 배근된 거푸집 구석까지 쉽게 채울 수 있는 자기충전 콘크리트(Self-Consolidating Concrete)의 특성을 활용하여 재생잔골재의 혼합범위에 따른 물리적 및역학적 거동 특성을 함께 검토하였으며, 실험 결과 적당한 범위 내에서 만족할 만한 결과를 얻었고,이를 실제 구조물에 적용 하기위한 내구 특성에 대한 연구가 필요하게 되었다.

슬롯을 가진 사각 패치형의 발룬-대역 통과 여파기 (A Slotted Square-Patch Type Balun-BPF)

  • 본 논문에서는 슬롯을 가진 마이크로스트립 사각 패치 형태의 balun-BPF를 제안한다. 기존의 balun-BPF는 대역폭이 좁고 손실이 다소 큰 단점을 가지고 있다. 이런 점을 개선하기 위해 사각 패치 평면에 수직으로 교차하는 슬롯을 넣고 한 모서리에 perturbation을 준 구조를 제시한다. 이러한 구조는 패치의 공간을 최대로 활용하기 때문에 손실을 줄일 수 있고 또한, 슬롯의 길이를 변화시킴으로써 주파수를 조절하고 대역폭을 넓힐 수 있다. 시험 제작된 balun-BPF는 2.4 GHz 대역에서 300 MHz(12.7 %)의 넓은 대역폭과 0.56 dB의 낮은 삽입 손실을 가지며, 두 출력 포트 간에 $184^{\circ}{\pm}15^{\circ}$ 이내의 위상차와 1 dB 이내의 출력차를 나타낸다.

Cable-pulley brace to improve story drift distribution of MRFs with large openings

  • This study aims to introduce a new bracing system by which even super-wide frames with large openings can be braced. The proposed system, hereafter called Cable-Pulley Brace (CPB), is a tension-only bracing system with a rectilinear configuration. In CPB, a wire rope passes through a rectilinear path around the opening(s) and connects the lower corner of the frame to its opposite upper one. CPB is a secondary load resisting system with a nonlinear-elastic hysteretic behavior due to its initial pre-tension load. As a result, the required energy dissipation would be provided by the MRF itself, and the main intention of using CPB is to contribute to the initial and post-yield stiffness of the whole system. Using a stiffness calibration technique, optimum placement of the CPBs is discussed to yield a uniform displacement demand along the height of the structure. A displacement-based design procedure is proposed by which the MRF with CPB can be designed to achieve a uniform distribution of inter-story drifts with predefined values. Obtained results indicated that CPB leads to significant reductions in maximum and residual deformations of the MRF at the expense of minor increase in the maximum base shear and developed axial force demands in the columns. In the case of a typical 5-story residential building, compared to SMRF system, CPB system reduces maximum amounts of inter-story and residual drifts by 35% and 70%, respectively. Moreover, openings of the frame are not interrupted by the CPB. This is the most appealing feature of the proposed bracing system from architectural point of view.
