  • This review aims to synthesize social network theories by drawing on the importance of social network perspectives in understanding knowledge management with technology in organizations. I provide an overview of prior social network research with the following core ideas: the primacy of relations between organizational actors, the utility of actors' embeddedness in social fields, the social utility of network connections, and the structural patterning of social life. On top of that, I summarize critical social perspectives (the social capital theory, the structural hole theory, the embeddedness perspective, the social exchange theory, the organizational learning theory, and the innovation diffusion theory) to suggest potential research questions for future studies in social network research in the knowledge management discipline.

  • Based on the two-dimensional constitutive relationship of the piezoelastic material, this paper derived an analytic solution to the elastic beam with the piezoelectric layer under the electric field, presented the explicit expressions of its displacement and stress. It is helpful for understanding the electrical and mechanical behavior of piezoelectric materials as actuators and the validation of the numerical methods such as FEM.

  • During the rapid economic growth, many buildings have been built unfaithfully. As a result, the buildings have finished their role in 10 years with dangerous structural elements and deteriorative facilities. This study planned to renovate an old independent house as an original and individual interior space which is its advantage. A house is not the place to eat and sleep, but multiple space with various functions, such as shelter, working, rest, and education. The purpose of this study was to make house environment useful and comfortable by understanding such a situation and by predicting future problems.

  • The majority of published conclusions about structural configuration effects of bond strength were based on the observed performance of test specimens and their interpretations are mostly empirical and statistical. The empirical and statistical interpretation on bond strength have to be replaced by rational models based on simple, sound and verifiable mechanical principles. It is likely that such models also represent the key to a deeper understanding of some existing experimental data on bond strength. The presented truss model is capable of explaining failure modes involving bond slip that cannot be explained by current truss model.

  • This paper reviews the literature on life course as a perspective in family studies. Life course approach on family studies have been emerged since 1960. This approach, which is challenging accepted knowledge and theory, partly reflects a shift in analytic perspective from structural models to a more behavioral thrust that views as a actor in structured situations, Life course approach is a theoretical orientation for our understanding of the linkage between individual and family development in context of changing historical context. Life course approach contributes time, process, and context to receiving in sociological perspectives on family and kinship.

  • Investigation of the structure of the gangliosides has proven to be very important in the understanding of their biological roles such as regulation of differentiation and growth of cells. Unexchanged hydroxyl protons and amide protons in ganglioside are protrude farther from the carbon backbone than the C-linked protons and provides nOe contacts with other protons which can provide additional distance constraints in structural determination. • To gain understanding of the applicability of CFRP cables in super long-span cable-stayed bridges, by taking a 1400 m cable-stayed bridge as example, mechanics performance including the static behavior under service load, dynamic behavior, wind stability and seismic behavior of the bridge using either steel or CFRP cables are investigated numerically and compared. The results show that viewed from the aspect of mechanics performance, the use of CFRP cables in super long-span cable-stayed bridges is feasible, and the cross-sectional areas of CFRP cables should be determined by the principle of equivalent axial stiffness.

  • This paper deals with an analyzing method of the Korean syntax to implement a natural language understanding system. A matrix of the syntactic structure is derived by the structural features of the Korean language. The modificatoty and conceptual structures are extracted from the matrix and the predicate logic form is expressed by extracting the phrase, clause and conceptual structure in the analyzing process. This logic form constructs an knowledge base of the sentence and proposes the possibility of the inference.

  • Unlike other viral polymerases, HCV RNA-dependent RNA polymerase (RdRp) has not been successfully inhibited by nucleoside analogues presumably due to its strong substrate specificity for RNA. Thus, in order to understand the RNA-specificity of HCV RdRp, the structural characteristics of the active site was investigated. The hereto unknown 2-OH binding pocket at the active site of RdRp provides invaluable implication for the development of novel anti-HCV nucleoside analogues.
