Effects of light on leaf senescence of Phaseolus vulgaris were investigated by measuring the disassembly of chlorophyll-protein complexes in detached leaves which had been kept in the dark or under light. The loss of chlorophyll accompanied by degradation of chlorophyll-protein complexes. PSI (photosystem I) complex containing LHCI (light harvesting complex of PSI) apoproteins was rapidly decreased after the early stage of dark-induced senescence. RC(reaction center)-Core3 was slightly increased until 4 d and slowly decreased thereafter. As disassembly of LHCII trimer progressed after the late stage of senescence, there was a steady increase in the relative amount of SC(small complex)-2 containing LHCII monomer. On the other hand, white and red light adaptation caused the structural stability of chlorophyll-protein complexes during dark-induced senescence. Particularly, red light was more effective in the retardation of LHCII breakdown than white light, whereas white light was slightly effect in protecting the disassembly of PSI complex compared to red light. These results suggest, therefore, that light may be a regulatory factor for stability of chlorophyll-protein complexes in the senescent leaves.
The back-to-back and box-shaped headers used in light gauge steel structures have some disadvantages, i.e., construction efficiency and cost competitiveness. As such, cold-formed steel L-shaped headers have been developed and are used actively in advanced nations. However, this system has not been used in Korea because of inadequate investigation and adaptation efforts and lack of application example. Thus, this research evaluated the structural performance of L-header using buckling analyses and bending tests. Test results were compared using the AISI design criteria. Test results showed that local buckling and distortional buckling governed buckling behavior in gravity loads and uplift loads, respectively. These results were consistent with the calculated nomial strengths using the AISI design criteria.
As various methodologies for business process analysis and design have been conducted in many organizations by their own ways, those methodologies are not compatible each other. In order to reduce the cost of analysis for organizations. some mapping methods between different methodologies need to be developed. UMM(UN/CEFACT Modeling Methodology) that has an object-oriented point of view. can overcome the limits of existing bottom-up approaches and make it reasonable. It also simplifies the business and administrative procedures. IDEF( Integrated Definition Language) with a structural point of view that has been widely used as a system analysis and design method, needs to be mapped to UMM in order to reuse the existing IDEF models. In this study, we propose a guideline that deals with procedures of utilizing IDEF models from which we want to derive the UMM models for developing an electronic commerce system including electronic documents exchange. By comparing IDEF and UMM, we analyze the differences between those two methodologies. Based on these differences. we suggest the basic strategies for mapping method from IDEF to UMM. We also propose a mapping guideline that can make UMM results from the modeling results of IDEF. We can take an advantage of the existing IDEF analysis design results when we adopt UMM methodology for electronic business system. Many analysts who are familiar with the IDEF methodology can develop UMM work-flow by utilizing their existing results and skills.
This paper presents a design approach of driving system for tidal flat vehicle. Firstly, topographic and geological survey of tidal flat zone was accomplished. 'Anac' located in the west-south coast of South Korea was chosen for the survey area. From the survey, the basic design data such as distribution of gullies size and bearing pressure was obtained. To figure out the shape of driving system, numerical simulations were carried out. Through the numerical dynamic simulations using $Recurdyn^{TM}$, the performance of various concepts of driving system was analyzed. From the results, we propose the conceptual design with the functions: a) low contact pressure, b) powerful driving force transmission, c) adaptation to the ground undulation. To satisfy these functional requirements, the driving system adopts rubber tracks, sprockets, tires and suspensions. The static structural analysis of the frame structure was executed as well, from which the detailed design was drawn out. To validate the performance of the designed driving system, the test vehicle which has gasoline engine of 27HP and mechanical transmission was constructed. The driving tests of the vehicle were performed twice at the "Anac" area, and unveiled its capability.
In this paper a simple mathematical model is presented for estimating the natural frequencies and corresponding mode shapes of a tall building with outrigger-belt truss system. For this purposes an equivalent continuum system is analyzed in which a tall building structure is replaced by an idealized cantilever continuum beam representing the structural characteristics. The equivalent system is comprised of a cantilever shear beam in parallel to a cantilever flexural beam that is constrained by a rotational spring at outrigger-belt truss location. The mathematical modeling and the derivation of the equation of motion are given for the cantilevers with identically paralleled and rotational spring. The equation of motion and the associated boundary conditions are analytically obtained by using Hamilton's variational principle. After obtaining non-trivial solution of the eigensystem, the resulting is used to determine the natural frequencies and associated mode shapes of free vibration analysis. A numerical example for a 40 story tall building has been solved with proposed method and finite element method. The results of the proposed mathematical model have good adaptation with those obtained from finite element analysis. Proposed model is practically suitable for quick evaluations during the preliminary design stages.

Hypoxia-inducible factor $1{\alpha}$ ($HIF1{\alpha}$) is a transcription factor that plays a key role in the adaptation of cells to low oxygen stress and oxygen homeostasis. The oxygen-dependent degradation (ODD) domain of $HIF1{\alpha}$ responsible for the negative regulation of $HIF1{\alpha}$ in normoxia is intrinsically unfolded. Here, we carried out the backbone $^1H$, $^{15}N$, and $^{13}C$ resonance assignment of a proteolysis-resistant fragment (residues 404-477) in the $HIF1{\alpha}$ ODD domain using NMR spectroscopy. About 98% (344/352) of all the $^1HN$, $^{15}N$, $^{13}C{\alpha}$, $^{13}C{\beta}$, and $^{13}CO$ resonances were unambiguously assigned. The results will be useful for further investigation of the structural and dynamic states of the $HIF1{\alpha}$ ODD domain and its interaction with binding partners.
Objectives: The purpose of this study was to examine the effects of developmental assets(social support, ego-resilience) on school adjustment on Korean Chinese left-behind adolescents. This study is meaningful to find implications for preparing supportive measures for the school adjustment of them. Method: 412 students who were in 3 middle schools in Yanbian Korean Autonomous Region responded to the questionnaire. A structural equation model was analyzed using SPSS 24.0 and AMOS 24.0 programs. Results: The main results of this study are as follows: First, left-behind adolescents' social support is influenced directly on school adaptation and indirectly through ego-resilience. Second, the left-behind adolescents with higher ego-resilience showed higher school adjustment. Conclusions: This study suggests that a balanced support system for developmental assets as internal and environmental factors is necessary for Korean Chinese left-behind adolescents' school adjustment.

Urban flood management(UFM) strategy ought to consider the connections and interactions between existing and new infrastructures to manage stormwater and improve the capacity to treat water. It is also important to demonstrate strategies that can be implemented to reduce the flow at flooding sources and minimize flood risk at critical locations. Although the general theory of spatial impact is popular, modeling guidelines that can provide information for implementation in real-world plans are still lacking. Under such background, this study conducted a modeling research based on an actual target site to confirm the hypothesis that it is appropriate to install green infrastructure(GI) in the source area and to take structural protection measures in the impact area, as summarized in previous studies. The results of the study proved the hypothesis, but the results were different from the hypothesis depending on which hydrological performance indicators were targeted. This study will contribute to demonstrating the effectiveness of strategies that can be implemented to reduce the flow at flooding sources and minimize the risk of flooding in critical locations in terms of spatial planning and regeneration.

Drawing on gamification affordance theory, this study examines the relationships among key affordances of avatar fashion styling, perceived enjoyment, and engagement behavior intentions-defined as the intention to share content on avatars in the metaverse platform-and the moderating role of metaverse familiarity. Based on survey data collected from 198 Korean ZEPETO users with avatar fashion styling experience, the hereby proposed research model was tested with structural equation modeling. The results demonstrated that self-expression and competition positively influenced perceived enjoyment, which subsequently affected customers' engagement behavior intention. Furthermore, metaverse familiarity as a moderating effect intensified the positive association between affordances and perceived enjoyment as well as between perceived enjoyment and engagement behavior intentions. The individual interaction effect of each affordance dimension on perceived enjoyment was different, with self-expression having a greater influence on enjoyment among the high-familiarity group and competition having a greater influence on enjoyment among the low-familiarity group. Considering that users with low metaverse familiarity might have higher needs for social interaction for adaptation, competition, being more socially triggering, might have affected these users more crucially.
Purpose: This study aimed to develop and test a model for posttraumatic growth among cured patients with COVID-19. This model was based on Calhoun and Tedeschi's Posttraumatic Growth model and a literature review. Methods: The participants comprised 223 patients cured from COVID-19 who were ≥ 19 years of age. The data were collected through an online questionnaire from March 21 to 24, 2022. The assessment tools included the Impact of Event Scale: Revised Korean version, the Connor-Davidson Resilience Scale, the Distress Disclosure Index, the Multidimensional Scale of Perceived Social Support, the Korean version of the Event-related Rumination Inventory, and the Korean version of the Post-traumatic Growth Inventory. Data were analyzed using the IBM SPSS version 24.0 and IBM AMOS 26.0. Results: The modified model showed appropriate goodness of fit (χ2 = 369.90, χ2 /degree of freedom = 2.09, SRMR = .09, RMESA = .07, CFI = .94, TLI = .93). The post-traumatic growth of cured patients with COVID-19 was explained through distress perception, self-disclosure, and deliberate rumination, with the explanatory power being 70.0%. Conclusion: This study suggests preparing a disaster psychology program involving experts who can activate deliberate rumination is necessary. Further, this study may serve as basic data for developing a program to enhance the post-traumatic growth of patients cured from COVID-19.
