  • Let R be a semiring, I a strong co-ideal of R and S(I) the set of all elements of R which are not prime to I. In this paper we investigate some interesting properties of S(I) and introduce the total identity-summand graph of a semiring R with respect to a co-ideal I. It is the graph with all elements of R as vertices and for distinct x, $y{\in}R$, the vertices x and y are adjacent if and only if $xy{\in}S(I)$.

  • Radiation synovectomy is an useful alternative treatment to rheumatoid arthritis and Re$\^$188/ is suggested as an ideal radiopharmaceutical agents because beta ray (2.1 MeV) emitted from Re$\^$188/ is appropriate for synovial cell ablation and gamma ray (155 KeV) is ideal for dosimetry. Its' ideal particle size (2-5 mm) was achieved by conjugation with tin-colloid, In this study, we investigated the toxicity, stability and biodistribution to evaluate the suitability of DA-7911 as a synovectomy agent. • An element r of a commutative semiring R with identity is said to be identity-summand if there exists $1{\neq}a{\in}R$ such that r+a = 1. In this paper, we introduce and investigate the identity-summand graph of R, denoted by ${\Gamma}(R)$. It is the (undirected) graph whose vertices are the non-identity identity-summands of R with two distinct vertices joint by an edge when the sum of the vertices is 1. The basic properties and possible structures of the graph ${\Gamma}(R)$ are studied.

  • In this study, we investigated permeation properties of single gas ($N_2$, $O_2$, $CO_2$) through membranes composed of poly(ethylene oxide) (PEO) and poly(ethylene-co-vinyl acetate) (EVA) blend. The prepared membranes showed no new absorbance peaks, which indicate the physical blending of PEO and EVA by FT-IR analysis. SEM observation showed that the crystalline phase of PEO decreased with increasing EVA content in the PEO/EVA mixed matrix. DSC analysis showed that the crystallinity of the PEO/EVA blend membrane decreased with increasing EVA content. Gas permeation experiment was performed with various feed pressure (4~8 bar). The permeability increased in the following order: $N_2$ < $O_2$ < $CO_2$. The permeability of $CO_2$ in PEO/EVA blend membranes were increased with increasing feed pressure, However, the permeability of $N_2$ and $O_2$ were independent of feed pressure. On the other hand, the permeability of all the gases in PEO/EVA blend membranes increased with increasing amorphous EVA content in semi-crystalline PEO. In particular, the blend membrane with 40 wt% EVA showed $CO_2$ permeability of 64 Barrer and $CO_2/N_2$ ideal selectivity of 61.5. The high $CO_2$ permeability and $CO_2/N_2$ ideal selectivity are attributed to strong affinity between the polar ether groups of PEO or the polar ester groups of EVA and polar $CO_2$.

  • Active oxygen species or free radicals are considered to cause extensive oxidative damage to biological macromolecules, which brings about a variety of diseases as well as aging. Electrolyzed reduced water(ERW) has been regarded as a ideal antioxidative agent in recent years. ERW is produced by passing a diluted salt solution through an electrolytic cell, within which the anode and cathode are separated by membrane. It can be produced reactive materials in ERW near the cathode during the electrolysis of water. ERW have the following advantages over other traditional cleaning agents: effective antioxidative agent, easy preparation, inexpensive, and environmentally friendly. The main advantage of ERW is its safety and antioxidative effect. ERW with strong reducing potential can be used to remove dirt and grease from items such as cutting boards and other kitchen utensils. The primary aim of this study is the activation mechanism of oxidation reduction potentials, ion conductivity, pH, and electrochemical properties with reactive materials in ERW.

  • Ram pressure due to the intracluster medium (ICM) is known to play a crucial role in removing the cool gas content of a galaxy on a short timescale, potentially driving a star forming galaxy to evolve into a red passive population. Although many HI imaging studies find clear evidence of diffuse atomic gas stripping from cluster galaxies, it is still debatable whether the ram pressure can also strip dense molecular gas. NGC 4522, a Virgo spiral, undergoing strong ram pressure stripping, is one of the few cases where extraplanar CO emission together with stripped HI gas and $H{\alpha}$ knots has been identified, providing an ideal laboratory to study the molecular gas stripping event and the extraplanar star formation activity. The aim of this work is to investigate the origin of extraplanar molecular clouds near NGC 4522 (e.g. stripped or forming in situ), and to probe a relation between the molecular gas surface density and the star formation rate (i.e. the Kennicutt-Schmidt law) at sub-kpc scale, especially in the extraplanar space, using ALMA Cycle 3 CO data and $H{\alpha}$ data of NGC 4522. We present the results from our ALMA observations, and discuss possible scenarios for the origin of extraplanar molecular clouds and to characterize the star formation activity associated with stripped gas outside the galactic disk.

  • In this paper, we introduce CoMP in 3GPP LTE-Advanced Release 11 to take care of shadowing effects appearing in cell-edge areas to meet rapidly increasing demand for high speed transmission and multi-media data. In order to mitigate interference, orthogonalizing is ideal but it is slightly difficult to be applied to real systems. Therefore, interference alignment and avoidance are used in practical applications. Interference alignment is a scheme enabling us to consider interference our friend not enemy. We show lattice codes in Gaussian channel achieve Shannon capacity where strong interference exists. In addition, we show the relationship between channel parameter a and DoF(Degree of Freedom) applying lattice codes to interference alignment for interference channel with three users.

  • In a mixture experiment, one may be interested in estimating not only main effects but also some interactions. Main effects and interactions may be estimated through appropriate designs such as simplex-centroid designs. However, the estimability problems, implied by the sum to one functional relationship among the factors, have strong consequences on the confounding and identifiability of models for such designs. To handle these problems, we address homogeneous polynomial model based on the computational commutative algebra (CCA) instead of using $Scheff{\acute{e}}s$ canonical model which is typically used. The problem posed here is to give how to choose estimable main effects and also some low-degree interactions. The theory is tested using a fraction of simplex-centroid designs aided by a modern computational algebra package CoCoA.

  • Epidemiological studies have indicated that a relationship between overweight and cardiovascular disease exists. To assess the relationship of unfavorable changes in serum lipid concentrations, apolipoprotein B, lipoprotein(a), blood sugar and blood pressure to anthropometric variables, nutrient intakes and dietary behavior,64 obese children were chosen as subjects and 24-hour dietary intake, dietary behavior as well as blood pressure, apolipoprotein B, lipoprotein(a), three kinds of cholesterol concentrations were measured in November 1976. More than half(57.8%) of the children had serum cholesterol concentrations over 175mg/d1, and 26.6% of them had over 200mg/d1 and this group could be classified as a high risk group. Abdominal obesity as measured with waist circumference and waist hip ratio was negatively co..elated to high density lipop개tein(HDL) cholesterol. Dietary behavior rather than nutrient intakes appeared to have associations with unfavorable lipid profiles. Total dietary behavior scores and fish and bean product consumption had strong correlations with potentially atherogenic lipoprotein concentrations. This study suggests that fir the early prevention of cardiovascular disease, waist hip ratio together with obese rate should be included in selective programs to identify risk group of children in Korea. furthermore, interventions in cardiovascular disease risk groups in obese children should emphasize maintenance of ideal body weight through reducing body fat and adopting desirable dietary behaviors such as increasing intake of fish or bean products. • Poly(ether-block-amide)(PEBAX$_{(R)}$) resin is a thermoplastic elastomer combining linear chains of hard-rigid polyamide block interspaced soft-flexible polyether block. It was believed that the hard polyamide block provides the mechanical strength and permselectivity, whereas gas transport occurs primarily through the soft polyether block. The objective of this work was to investigate the gas permeation properties of carbon dioxide and methane for PEBAX$^{(R)}$-1657 membrane, and compare with those obtained for other grade of pure PEBAX$^{(R)}$, PEBAX$^{(R)}$-2533 and PEBAX$^{(R)}$ based hybrid membranes. The hybrid membranes based PEBAX$^{(R)}$ were obtained by a sol-gel process using GPTMS ((3-glycidoxypropyl) trimethoxysilane) as the only inorganic precursor. Molecular structure and morphology of membrane were analyzed by $^{29}Si$-NMR, DSC and SEM. PEBAX$_{(R)}$-2533 membrane exhibited higher gas permeability coefficients than PEBAX$^{(R)}$-1657 membrane. This was explained by the increase of chain mobility. In contrast, ideal separation factor of $CO_2/CH_4$ for PEBAX$^{(R)}$-1657 membrane was higher than PEBAX$^{(R)}$-2533 membrane. It was explained by the decrease of diffusion selectivity caused by increase of chain mobility. For PEBAX$^{(R)}$/GPTMS hybrid membrane, gas permeability coefficients were decreased with reaction time. Gas permeability coefficient of $CH_4$ was more significantly decreased than $CO_2$. It can be explained by the reduction of chain mobility caused by the sol-gel process, and strong affinity of PEO segment with $CO_2$. Comparing with pure PEBAX$^{(R)}$-1657 membrane, ideal separation factor of $CO_2/CH_4$ for PEBAX$^{(R)}$/GPTMS hybrid membrane has decreased to 4.5%, and gas permeability coefficient of $CO_2$ has increased 3.5 times.
