This study experimentally evaluate the bonding performance of repair and strengthening materials. It is very important problem to justify bonding properties between repair and strengthening materials and old concrete. Many previous research and investigation showed that bonding strength of reinforcing materials determines the strengthening effect and the durability of repair work. Therefore, menifestation of bonding properties and the improvement of bonding performance of repair and strengthening materials are very important. In order to improve the perforamnce of repair work, it needs to investigate the behavior of bonding materials, such as stress distribution along the bonding area and the long term performance of the material. The target repair methods are steel plate addition technique and repair mortar method, and the test parameters studied in this paper include epoxy thickness, bonding surface texture, and bonding area.
Nowadays using Carbon Fiber Reinforced Polymer (CFRP) has been expanded in strengthening steel structures. Given that few studies have taken about strengthening of steel hollow pipe sections using CFRP, in present study, the effects of CFRP sheets using two layers as well as in combination with additional reinforcing strips has been assessment. Strengthening of five specimens was carried out in laboratory tests. As well as numerical simulation was performed for all specimens by Finite Element Method (FEM) using ABAQUS software and high correlation between the results of numerical models with experimental data indicate the power of FEM in this field. The results of both laboratory and simulated specimens showed that load-bearing capacity of circular cross-sections can be significantly increased using CFRP retrofitting technique. Also, application of additional CFRP reinforcing strips and layers caused more strength for the strengthened specimens.
There are many methods for muscle strengthening. Muscle strengthening with eccentric contraction work is the best way by researcher's report. Also, eccentric contraction need proper resistance for muscle strengthening. Combination of isotonic in PNF is a muscle strengthening method with manual resistance. It makes concentric contraction $\rightarrow$ eccentric contraction $\rightarrow$ concentric contraction with continually and without muscle relaxation. Combination isotonic technique use with PNF pattern. Therefore, it will make development and increasing of active control motion, coordination, actual range of motion, strengthen and functional training in eccentric control of movement. Concentric contraction have the 3rd lever system and eccentric contraction have the 2nd lever system with combination of isotonic. Serial concentric contraction $\rightarrow$ eccentric contraction $\rightarrow$ concentric contraction make strong SEC and PEC. It will be increase elasticity of SEC, PEC and contractile components either.
The efficacy of a technique for the rehabilitation and strengthening of RC beam-column connections damaged due to cyclic loading was investigated. The repair mainly uses epoxy resin infused under pressure into the damaged region to retrieved back the lost capacity and then strengthening using fiber reinforced polymer (FRP) sheets for capacity enhancement. Three common types of reduced scale RC exterior beam-column connections namely (a) beam-column connection with beam weak in flexure (BWF) (b) beam-column connections with beam weak in shear (BWS) and (c) beam-column connections with column weak in shear (CWS) subjected to reversed cyclic loading were considered for the experimental investigation. The rehabilitated and strengthened specimens were also subjected to similar cyclic displacement. Important parameters related to seismic capacity such as strength, stiffness degradation, energy dissipation, and ductility were evaluated. The rehabilitated connections exhibited equal or better performance and hence the adopted rehabilitation strategies could be considered as satisfactory. Confinement of damaged region using FRP sheet significantly enhanced the seismic capacity of the connections.
CFRP plates has been established as an effective method for rehabilitation and strengthening of concrete structures. The CFRP reinforcements are bonded to beams and slabs using structural adhesives. Adhesive strength can be affected by environmental exposure. During freezing-and-thawing cycling, temperature-induced stresses in the adhesive layer, due to differential thermal expansion between the CFRP and the substrate concrete, may lead to bond damage and contribute to or cause premature CFRP composite separation. This paper presents the results of experimental program undertaken to investigate the effects of freeze-thaw cycling (from -18 to $4^{\circ}C$) on the behavior and failure characteristics of RC beams strengthened in shear with CFRP plate using acoustic emission (AE) technique.
Strengthening with near surface mounted carbon fibre reinforced polymers (NSM-CFRP) is a strengthening technique that have been used for several decades to increase the load carrying capacity of reinforced concrete members. In Iraq, many concrete buildings and bridges were subjected to a wide range of damage as a result of the last war and many other events. Accordingly, there is a progressive increase in the strengthening of concrete structures, bridges in particular, by using CFRP strengthening techniques. Near-surface mounted carbon fibre polymer has been recently proved as a powerful strengthening technique in which the CFRP strips are sufficiently protected against external environmental conditions especially the high-temperature rates in Iraq. However, this technique has not been examined yet under repeated loading conditions such as traffic loads on bridge girders. The main objective of this research was to investigate the effectiveness of NSM-CFRP strips in reinforced concrete beams under repeated loads. Different parameters such as the number of strips, groove size, and two types of bonding materials (epoxy resin and cement-based adhesive) were considered. Fifteen NSM-CFRP strengthened beams were tested under concentrated monotonic and repeated loadings. Three beams were non-strengthened as reference specimens while the remaining were strengthened with NSM-CFRP strips and divided into three groups. Each group comprises two beams tested under monotonic loads and used as control for those tested under repeated loads in the same group. The experimental results are discussed in terms of load-deflection behavior up to failure, ductility factor, cumulative energy absorption, number of cycles to failure, and the mode of failure. The test results proved that strengthening with NSM-CFRP strips increased both the flexural strength and stiffness of the tested beams. An increase in load carrying capacity was obtained in a range of (1.47 to 4.49) times that for the non-strengthened specimens. Also, the increase in total area of CFRPs showed a slight increase in flexural capacity of (1.02) times the value of the control strengthened one tested under repeated loading. Increasing the total area of CFRP strips resulted in a reduction in ductility factor reached to (0.71) while the cumulative energy absorption increased by (1.22) times the values of the strengthened reference specimens tested under repeated loading. Moreover, the replacement of epoxy resin with cement-based adhesive as a bonding material exhibited higher ductility than specimen with epoxy resin tested under monotonic and repeated loading.

The sprayed FRP strengthening technique is combining the Glass fiber and Polyester resin in open air and spraying randomly at concrete's surface with high-speed compressed air. Then it strengthens the structures with a new technique evaluated the structural performance. We applied it to concrete beam and tested for flexural strength, depended on Korea Standard(KS F 2408). Then based on the result of flexural strength, the properties were proposed that applying to structures. Based on the experiment, we have evaluated structural performance by the experiment. 1/5 scale prestressed concrete I-beam were made by Korean Highway's typical drawing in 1993. With these test results, 49.8% increased in flexural strength, improvement of the behavior of serviceability state, and strengthening was surely effective for controlling deflection and crack of structure. Consequently, it can be summarized that Sprayed FRP technique has prospect to improve the performance of structure.

This paper presents a strengthening technique of weakened telegraph pole using an inflating agent to adjust chemical pre-stressing. The strengthening technique increases only resisting capacity and ductility of telegraph but also limited quantity and application ability of FRP. The chemical pre-stressing and the resisting capacity are investigated experimentally. From the results, it is confirmed that it is possible to control the degree of applied pre-stressing by controlling the amount of inflating agent. In addition, the pre-stressing can increase resisting capacity up to three times compared with no pre-stressing.

The purpose of this study is to evaluate the critical strengthening ratio of concrete railroad bridge strengthened with NSM using CFRP plate. The railroad bridge is usually under vibration and impact in service state. Therefore, it is important that the effective strengthening performance must be exhibited under the service loading is acted. To widely apply the NSM method for the concrete railroad bridge in field, it needs that reasonable strengthening parameter such as strengthening ratio has to be investigated and evaluated when the strengthening design is conducted. In this study, to suggest more reasonable strengthening ratio, material and geometrical uncertainty was considered and applied by Monte Carlo Simulation (MSC) technique. Lastly, the critical strengthening ratio of concrete railroad bridge strengthened with NSM using CFRP plate was evaluated by using the limit state function with the target reliability index.
