The present study aimed to develop the TRIP(transformation induced plasticity) aided high strength low carbon steel sheets using reverse transformation process. The cold-rolled 0.14C-6.5Mn steel was reverse-transformed by slow heating to intercritical temperature region and air cooling to room temperature. An excellant combination of tensile strength and elongation of $98.3kgf/mm^2$ and 44.4% appears. This combination comes from TRIP phenomena of retained austenite during deformation. The stability of retained austenite Is very Important for the good ductility and it depends on diffusion of carbon and manganese during reverse transformation. The air cooling after holding at intercritical temperature retards the formation of pearlite and provides the carbon enrichment in retained austenite, resulting the increase of elongation in cold-roiled TRIP steel.
In this paper the effect of interstitial heat treatment on the microstructure and mechanical properties was examined both in the 0.15C-6Mn steels and 0.15C-6Mn steels added with Nb or Ti. This result will be applied into the development of a steel which has the properties of high strength and high ductility resulted from the transformation induced plasticity. The strength-elongation combination was increased as the holding time was increased when the temperature is at $625^{\circ}C$. However, the strength-elongation combination was decreased sharply as the holding time was increased when the temperature is at $675^{\circ}C$. The tensile strength and elongation of a reverse transformed steels added with Ti or Nb was 93 kg/$\textrm{mm}^2$ and 40%, respectively. This steel shows higher strength more than 10% of the 0.15C-6Mn steel without loss of ductility. The autenite formed from the reverse transformed treatment has a fine lath type, which has the width size of 0.1-0.3 $\mu\textrm{m}$. The TRIP sequence normally transforms the austenite to martensite, however, some of the sequence will produce retained austenite \longrightarrow deformation twin \longrightarrow martensite
This study is to investigate the effect of thermo mechanical treatment on the mechanical properties of 316L stainless steel. ${\alpha}^{\prime}$ and ${\varepsilon}$-martensite was formed by deformation. With increasing number of thermo mechanical treatment, volume fraction of martensite was increased rapidly, and then unchanged. With increasing number of thermo mechanical treatment, hardness and strength was increased rapidly, and then unchanged while elongation was decreased rapidly, and then unchanged. With increasing volume fraction of martensite formed by thermo mechanical treatment, hardness and strength was increased rapidly, elongation was decreased rapidly. Thus, hardness, strength and elongation of thermo mechanical treated 316L stainless steel was strongly affected by martensite formed by thermo mechanical treatment. Good combination of strength and elongation was obtained from thermomechanical treatment.

The present study is aimed at developing the TRIP(transformation induced plasticity) aided high strength low carbon steel using reversion process. An excellent combination of elongation over 40% and tensile strength abut 100kgf/$\textrm{mm}^2$ achieved in processing of 0.15C-0.5 Si-6Mn steel by slow heating to intercritial temperature region and accelerated cooling into room temperature. This good combination is caused by TRIP phenomena of retained austenite in steels during deformation. The stability of retained austenite is very important for the good ductility and it depends on the diffusion of carbon and manganeses during heat treatment. The accelerated cooling after holding at annealing temperature retards the formation of pearlite and provides the carbon enrichment in retained austenite in steel, resulting in the increase in elongation of the cold-rolled TRIP steel. On the other hand, heat treating the steel at 600$^{\circ}C$ for 5 hour before cold rolling increases elongation but reduces the amount of retained austenite after reversion processing. It is accounted that the heat treating is effective for the increase in the stability of retained austenite.
The TRIP behavior in tensile deformation of retained austenite formed by reverse transformation treatment in 0.15%C-6%Mn-(Ti, Nb) steels has been investigated. The shape of retained austenite was almost a fine lath type with $0.1{\sim}0.3{\mu}m$ width and the two distinctly different transformation sequences of retained austenite, i) retained austenite${\rightarrow}$martensite and ii) retained austenite${\rightarrow}$deformation twin${\rightarrow}$martensite were revealed. The strength-elongation combination was increased with increasing the holdig time at low temperatures ($625^{\circ}C$) but decreased abruptly with increasing holding time at high temperatures ($675^{\circ}C$), owing to the lowering of ductility. The strength-elongation combination and TRIP effect was lower in tensile deformation in the range of $100{\sim}250^{\circ}C$ than room temperature. The tensile strengh and elongation of a reverse transformed steels with addition of Ti or Nb was 93kg/, 40% respectively, which is higher over 10% of strength without ductility loss than in 0.15%C-6%Mn steels.
Various types of high strength steel sheets were usually used for improving the automobile safety and fuel efficiency by reducing the vehicle weight. The present study aimed to develop the TRIP (transformation induced plasticity) aided high-strength low carbon steel sheets by using a reverse transformation process. The 0.1C-4~8Mn steels were reverse-transformed by slow heating to intercritical temperature region and then furnace cooled to the room temperature. Granular type retained austenite was observed in 4Mn steel and lath type retained austenite was also observed in 6~8Mn steel. The results show that the 6Mn steel under reverse transformed at $625^{\circ}C$ for 6 hrs has maximum elongation up to 39%. The optimum strength-elongation combination was 3,888 ($kg/mm^2{\times}%$) when the 8Mn steel was reverse transformed at $625^{\circ}C$ for 12 h.
The tensile properties of high manganese austenitic stainless steel with the two phase structures of deformation-induced martensite and reversed austenite were studied. Reversed austenite with an ultra-fine grain size of less than $0.3{\mu}m$ was obtained by reversion treatment. The two phases structures of deformation-induced martensite and reversed austenite were obtained by an annealing treatment in the range of $500^{\circ}C-700^{\circ}C$ for various times in 70% cold- rolled high-manganese austenitic stainless steel. The volume fraction of the reversed austenite increased rapidly with increases in the annealing temperature and time. In the stainless steel with the two phases of austenite and martensite, the strength decreased rapidly, while the elongation increased slowly and then rapidly increased with an increase in the volume fraction of the reversed austenite. Therefore, the strength and elongation were strongly controlled by the volume fraction of reversed austenite. A good combination of high strength and elongation could be obtained by the mixed structure of reversed austenite and deformation-induced martensite.
The purpose of this study was to evaluate their mechanical properties after laser-welding or soldering of precious and non-precious dental alloys. For this study, 30 Co-Cr alloy specimens, 15 gold alloy specimens, 15 palladium alloy specimens were casted and seperated on the middle area. 15 sperated Co-Cr specimens and 15 seperated gold alloy specimens were laser welded (GW Group). 15 sperated Co-Cr specimens and 15 sperated gold alloy specimens were soldered by coventional soldering method (GS Group). 15 sperated Co-Cr specimens and 15 seperated palladium alloy specimens were laser welded (PW Group). 15 sperated Co-Cr specimens and 15 sperated palladium alloy specimens were soldered by coventional soldering method (PS Group). Tensile strength, 0.2% yield strength, % elongation were recorded in nine specimens of each group. Bending strength were record in six specimens of each group. These data for four groups were subjected to a two-way analysis of variance(ANOVA). The fracture locations, fractured surfaces were examined by SEM(scanning electron microscope). The results were as following: 1) In the same alloy combination, the tensile strength and 0.2% yield strength and of the laser welded group with same metal combination were significantly less than soldered groups(p<0.05). 2) In the combination of Co-Cr/Palladium, the bending strength of laser welded group were significantly less than that of soldered groups(p<0.05). In the combination of Co-Cr/Gold, the bending strength of laser welded group were significantly higher than that of soldered groups(p<0.05). 3) In the same method of joint, the tensile strength and 0.2% yield strength and bending strength of the Co-Cr/gold were significantly higher than Co-Cr/palladium(p<0.05). 4) There was no significantly statistical difference between each group in the % elongation(p>0.05). 5) The fracture of the laser welded specimens occured in the welding area and a large void was observed at the center of the fracture surface. 6) The fracture of the soldered specimens occured also inthe soldered area and many porpsities were showed at the fracture sites.

Mg-Zn-RE alloys had a novel lond period stacking ordered (LPO) structure. Their rapidly solidified powder metallurgy (RS P/M) alloys exhibited a combination of high strength and god ductility (tensile yield strength above 550 MPa and elongation above 5%). The LPO Mg-Zn-RE RS P/M alloys had high elevated temperature strength (tensile yield strength above 380 MPa at 473 K) and exhibited a high-strain-rate superplasticity at higher temperatures. In Japan, a national project for developing high strength LPO Mg-Zn-RE RS P/M alloys has started at 2003 for 5 years, which is founded by the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry (METI) of Japan. In the national project, project targets in materials performances have been achieved. The developed LPO Mg-Zn-RE RS P/M alloys exhibited higher tensile yield strength, fatigue strength and corrosion resistance than high strength aluminum alloys of extra-super-duralumin (7075-T6).
