Relative static and dynamic performances of composite conoidal shell roofs

  • Conoidal shells are doubly curved stiff surfaces which are easy to cast and fabricate due to their singly ruled property. Application of laminated composites in fabrication of conoidal shells reduces gravity forces and mass induced forces compared to the isotropic constructions due to the high strength to weight ratio of the material. These light weight shells are preferred in the industry to cover large column free open spaces. To ensure design reliability under service conditions, detailed knowledge about different behavioral aspects of conoidal shell is necessary. Hence, in this paper, static bending, free and forced vibration responses of composite conoidal shells are studied. Lagrange's equation of motion is used in conjunction with Hamilton's principle to derive governing equations of the shell. A finite element code using eight noded curved quadratic isoparametric elements is developed to get the solutions. Uniformly distributed load for static bending analysis and three different load time histories for solution of forced vibration problems are considered. Eight different stacking sequences of graphite-epoxy composite and two different boundary conditions are taken up in the present study. The study shows that relative performances of different shell combinations in terms of static behaviour cannot provide an idea about how they will relatively behave under dynamic loads and also the fact that the points of occurrence of maximum static and dynamic displacement may not be same on a shell surface.

고고도 장기체공무인기 주익 Spar 비선형 구조 해석 (Non-linear Structural Analysis of Main Wing Spar of High Altitude Long Endurance UAV)

  • In order to increase endurance flight efficiency of long endurance electric powered UAV, main wing of UAV should have high aspect ratio and low structural weight. Since a spar which consists of thin and slender structure for weight reduction can cause catastrophic failure during the flight, it is important to develop verification method of structural integrity of the spar with the light weight design. In this paper, process of structural analysis using non-linear finite element method was introduced for the verification of structural integrity of the spar. The static strength test of the spar was conducted to identify structural characteristic under the static load. Then, the experimental result of the spar was compared to the analytical result from the non-linear finite element analysis. It was found that the developed process of structural analysis could predict well the non-linear structural behavior of the spar under ultimate load.

  • 일반적으로 보고되어있는 방사임피던스는 무한강체 배플에 진동면을 두고있는 경우에 대하여 계산되어져 있어, 실제 유한한 크기의 배플을 갖는 트랜스듀서의 설계에는 적용하기 어려운 경우가 많다. 본 연구에서는 피스톤의 진동면을 작은 점음원의 모임으로 가정하고, 각 점음원의 음원강도와 배플의 크기를 관련지어 유한배플을 갖는 진동면에 대한 방사임피던스의 새로운 계산법을 제안하였다. 그에 대한 예로서 정방형의 피스톤 진동면에 대하여 배플의 크기에 따른 자기방사임피던스의 변화를 계산함으로써 제안한 방법의 유효성을 확인하였다.

  • Forging is applied for many industrial fields. Also, it is applied to hose nipple. Stress and metal analysis is finding method of forging possibility and we predict this possibility by finite element forging analysis. But there are also many manufacturing procedure after forging, and metal texture is varied by additional heat treatment or coating. So this research is focused on the measuring and analysis of plastic residual stress distribution at overall manufacturing procedure. From raw material to final product we measured real residual stress at each manufacturing procedure by X ray diffract meter, and simulated another procedure except forging by nonlinear finite element analysis. Also we showed how Zn-Ni coating is more contributable to metal strength than Zn coating. By this research we make final conclusion that process analysis must be observed from raw material to final manufacturing state for robust design.

주기하중을 받는 세장한 철근콘크리트 보의 길이방향 인장변형 (Longitudinal Elongation of Slender Reinforced Concrete Beams Subjected to Cyclic Loading)

  • 휨항복 이후 주기하중을 받는 철근콘크리트 부재(보와 전단벽)에서는 길이방향의 인장변형이 누적된다. 이러한 길이방향 인장변형은 철근 콘크리트 부재의 강도 및 변형능력을 저하시킬 수 있다. 본 연구에서는 비선형 트러스 모델해석을 통하여 철근콘크리트 부재에 발생되는 길이방향 인장변형의 메커니즘을 분석하였다. 그 결과, 길이방향 인장변형은 소성힌지의 길이방향 철근에 발생되는 잔류인장소성변형으로 인하여 발생되고, 대각 콘크리트 스트럿의 전단력 전달 메커니즘이 길이방향 인장변형의 크기에 중요한 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 이러한 분석결과를 토대로 주기거동 동안 철근콘크리트 부재에 누적되는 길이방향 인장변형을 평가할 수 있는 간단한 평가식을 제안하고, 다양한 재하이력을 갖는 보 실험결과와 비교되었다.

  • 투포원 연사기는 스핀들 1회전에 2회의 꼬임을 부가하여 실의 신축성과 인장강도 및 내마모성을 증가시키며, 특수한 목적의 의장사를 만드는 섬유기계이다. 스핀들 유니트는 고속 회전중에 안정화된 운동이 지속되도록 구조설계가 요구되는 핵심장치로서 스핀들 유니트의 동특성 해석은 고속 스핀들 유니트설계의 최적화를 도모할 수 있을 것이다. 스핀들 유니트는 블레이드와 로타리 디스크로 구성되어 있으며, 스핀들 축에 대하여 회전체 형상을 유지 하고 있다. 동특성 해석을 수행하기 위하여 전달 매트릭스 해석법을 정의하고 해석용 프로그램인 SPINDLE을 이용하여 비틀림과 굽힘 고유진동수를 해석하였으며, 운전회전수에서 변위모우드를 분석하였다.

유한요소 해석을 통한 열교 차단장치의 압축판 최적형상 설계 (The Optimal Shape Design for the Compression Joint of Thermal Bridge Breaker using FEM)

  • It is important to eliminate thermal bridge for achieving passive and environmental-friendly buildings. Structural members may frequently act as thermal bridges that become a conduit of energy. it is emphasized that thermal bridge breaker (TBB) system is necessary for blocking thermal bridge of the structural members. This TBB system has to maintain a performance to tensile and compressive stress which arises in member section in order to being realized structurally. Thus, it is composed with anchorage devices which obtain continuity with structural members inside building and rebar of cantilever balcony, and compression joint which resist compression stress occurring to TBB. Applying method of TBB's compression joint is designed to have high strength with comparatively small element section which can cover external load. This study carried out finite elements method based on compression experiment. Throughout the FEM analysis, this study provides information on finding optimal shape for compression joint of TBB which can suitably apply to current building balcony of Korea.

소형항공기용 고정식 착륙장치의 동적특성에 관한 연구

  • 현재까지의 착륙장치의 연구동향은 대부분이 공기-유압식 완충기의 충격흡수 성능해석에 집중되어 있으며 이러한 연구내용을 판스프링식 복합재료 착륙장치의 해석에 적용하기에는 많은 문제점이 있는 실정이다. 공기-유압식 완충기의 충격흡수 특성은 착륙장치 구조물의 유연성보다 내부 구조의 설계 방식에 따라 영향을 받으나, 판스프링식 복합재료 착륙장치는 재료 자체가 지니는 탄성거동과 감쇠특성으로 충격흡수 역할을 수행한다. 따라서 구조물을 구성하는 재료의 선정 및 형상이 매우 중요하다. 본 연구에서는 실제 착륙장치의 충격 낙하 상태를 정확히 모사 할 수 있는 시험치구를 이용하여 현재 개발 중에 있는 고정식(fixed)복합재료 착륙장치가 갖고 있는 충격흡수특성, 탄성거동 및 감속특성 등을 파악하였다.

음향방출을 이용한 저항 점용접의 용접 품질평가 (Quality Evaluation of Resistance Spot Welding using Acoustic Emission)

  • In this paper, for the purpose of investigation the acoustic emission(AE) behaviors during resistance spot welding process and tension test of spec steels. As the results present the resistance spot welding method that can get suitable welding qualities or structural integrity estimating method. The resistance spot welding process consists of several stages: set-down of the electrodes; squeeze; current flow; forging; hold time; and lift-off. Various types of AE signals are produced during each of these stages. For tensile-shear test and cross tensile test in resistance spot welded specimens, fracture pa 야 ems are produced: tear fracture; shear fracture; and plug fracture. Tensile-shear specimens strength appeared higher than cross tensile specimens one. In case of tensile-shear specimen happened tear fracture that crack happens in most lower plate. Also, in case of cross tensile specimens, upper plate and lower plate are detached perfect fracture was exposed increases a little as acting force is lower than ordinary welding condition. Therefore, the structure which is combined by resistance spot welding confirmed that welding design must attain so that shear stress may can interact mainly.

Simplified P-M interaction curve model for reinforced concrete columns exposed to standard fire

  • In the authors' previous study, an axial force-flexural moment (P-M) interaction curve model was proposed to evaluate fire-resisting performances of reinforced concrete (RC) column members. The proposed method appeared to properly consider the axial and flexural strength degradations including the secondary moment effects in RC columns due to fire damage. However, the detailed P-M interaction curve model proposed in the authors' previous study requires somewhat complex computational procedures and iterative calculations, which makes it difficult to be used for practical design in its current form. Thus, the aim of this study was to develop a simplified P-M interaction curve model of RC columns exposed to fire considering the effects of fire damage on the material performances and magnitudes of secondary moments. The simplified P-M interaction model proposed in this study was verified using 66 column fire test results collected from literature, and the verification results showed that the proposed simplified method can provide an adequate analysis accuracy of the failure loads and fire-resisting times of the RC column specimens.
