Describing the filmography of Yong-ho KIM simply in a few sentences is considered nearly impossible. For the last 20 years and longer, KIM has been building up his career energetically as he never lets himself obsessed with any particular boundaries or areas but work on everything from paper advertisements to art galleries, advertising photographs and pure photographs. The Photolanguage personally mentioned by Yong-ho KIM himself is to visualize this imaginary story in a form of photograph, which one would come up with before shooting. When it comes to the advertising photographs, since they are used basically to sell products, they are considered rather temporary, and in addition, they photograph the products mostly under these bright lights with colorful backgrounds behind. However, Yong-ho KIM was recognized for presenting very much different work as he went even beyond these old stereotypes of the advertising photographs. The advertising photographs processed by KIM do more than merely introducing details or functions of some products, but they deliver these values and cultures that consumers can enjoy and gain through these original stories about the products. Of several pieces of KIM's work, this advertisement on Hyundai Card named was invited to an exhibition by a private gallery after the work was exposed through various media. The work was even purchased, and that was something that had not happened before in the history of the relevant field. When a photograph is purchased, it makes the photograph recognized for its value to be possessed, and when a photograph is displayed, it, again, makes the photograph win recognition as an art work. This thesis discusses the Photolanguage found in the works of Yong-ho KIM, one of the most well-known advertising photographers in South Korea. The research inquiries that have been analyzed in the body of the thesis, therefore, are the photographs and language in the digital era, the story-telling advertisements and these works by Yong-ho KIM.
In the present study, we examined global and local characteristics of eye movements while 17 Korean third-graders read a Korean story and an expository text. In story reading, children fixated for about 213ms at an eojeol(word cluster), made a forward saccade of about 3.6 characters to the next eojeol, and regressed backward at 30.8% on average. In expository text reading, children fixated for about 214ms at an eojeol, made a forward saccade of about 3.3 characters to the next eojeol, and regressed backward at 31% on average. In addition, the effects of eojeol length, word frequency and landing position were examined. The gaze duration in the long ejoels was longer than in the short eojeols. In a further analysis where the repeatedly used eojeols were excluded, the eojeol length effect appeared in the low-frequency words, but seemed to disappear in the high-frequency words. In terms of landing position, the eyes seemed to land near the center of an eojeol more frequently than on the boundaries. When the eyes landed at the boundary of an eojeol, the eyes tended to fixate the eojeol again.
Many of the modern animations have 3D technology, and as time goes by, their production technology becomes more diverse and sophisticated. When John Alan Lasseter insisted on studying CG animation technology, he might have taken our jobs to the computer in the near future, as many people were worried about. It may be premature to worry that an unstable future may become a reality at this point, but I do not think there will be any difference in the fact that many animations are being produced using 3D technology. Since the Toy Story was screened in 1995, the 3D animation production technology has started to develop rapidly and now it has been elaborately developed so that it can not distinguish the part where computer graphics technology is applied from the live film. On the other hand, Disney's 2D animation part falls into the decline path because the appearance of 3D animation was perceived as a new expression technique at that time, and the efficiency of the work process was superior to the 2D animation in addition to receiving the attention from the audience. Is it necessary to accept the retrogression of 2D animation technology, reflecting the environment of the animation industry that 3D animation production technology has become mainstream in the first 20 years since the first theatrical works appeared? Since 2D animation technology has a long history and is still attractive to the audience, it is not hard to find an attempt to combine 2D and 3D animation technology. In this paper, I want to study 2D hand - drawn character in 3D animation. Through this, it is hoped that animation convergence technology will be applied more actively in the future.

Optimal design method of nonlinear damping system for seismic response control of adjacent structures is studied in this paper. The objective functions of the optimal design are defined by structural response and total amount of the dampers. In order to obtain a solution minimizing two mutually conflicting objective functions simultaneously, multi-objective optimization technique based on genetic algorithm is adopted. In addition, stochastic linearization method is embedded into the multi-objective framework to efficiently estimate the seismic responses of the adjacent structures interconnected by nonlinear hysteretic dampers without performing nonlinear time-history analyses. As a numerical example to demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed technique, 20-story and 10-story buildings are considered and MR dampers of which hysteretic behaviors vary with the magnitude of the input voltage are considered as nonlinear hysteretic damper interconnecting two adjacent buildings. The proposed approach can provide the optimal number and capacities of the MR dampers, which turned out to be more economical than the uniform distribution system while maintaining similar control performance. The proposed damper system is verified to show more stable performance in terms of the pounding probability between two adjacent buildings. The applicability of the proposed method to the design problem for optimally placing semi-active control system is examined as well.
This research suggests video solutions and efficient implementations for low-budget performances. This study adopts Millumin as a mapping server, which reflects the character of small theatres with a lower budget that doesn't use more than four projectors in a show. By comparing pros and cons of media servers, the study discovers how to employ an appropriate server as well as to participate in a pre-video production stage, which increases the artistry of directing and reduces unnecessary graphics. Meanwhile, with the participation of an interpretive programmer, this study suggests a way to manage the rehearsal time and to increase the artistry of directing. In addition, this study analyses the relationship between the video's visual motive source in the story's development, crisis, climax, twist and the provided narrative based on "Trace U the musical (2018)", by this analyzation, the relationship between storytelling and the video is fully shown. A visual motive is related to the action of actors, the movement of dancers, the music, the lyrics and the lines. Furthermore, the provided narrative confirms that the existence of an actual relationship with the turning point of the plots, characters' emotion, suggestions of sub-plot and the twists of own story. In conclusion, it implies a video of small theatres can not be separated from the probability of the narrative.sh an efficient ad execution strategy that reflected the characteristics of mobile devices.

In this study, a U-shape composite beam was developed to be effectively used for a steel parking lot which is 8m or lower in height. When the U-shape composite beam was applied to a steel parking lot, essential considerations were story-height and long-span. In addition, due to the mixed structural system with reinforced concrete and steel material, the U-shape composite beam needed to have a structural integrity and reliable performance over demand capacity. The main objective of this study was to investigate the performance of the structure consisting of the reinforced concrete (RC) slab and U-shape beam. A U-shape composite beam generally used at a parking lot served as a control specimen. Four specimens were tested under four-point bending. To calculate theoretical values, strain gauges were attached to rebar, steel plate, and concrete surface in the middle of the specimens. As the results, initial yielding strength of the control specimen occurred at the bottom of the U-shaped steel. After yielding, the specimen reached the maximum strength and the RC slab concrete was finally failed by concrete crush due to compressive stress. The structural performance such as flexural strength and ductility of the specimen with the increased beam depth was significantly improved in comparison with the control specimen. Furthermore, the design of the U-shape composite beam with the consideration of flexural strength and ductility was effective since the structural performance by a negative loading was relatively decreased but the ductile behavior was evidently improved.

In the seismic design of structures, seismic forces are calculated based on structural models and analysis. In order to accurately address the dynamic characteristics of the actual structure in the structural model, calibration based on actual measurements is required. In this study, a 4-story frame test specimen was manufactured to simulate frame building, accelerometers were attached at each floor, and 1-axis shaking table test was performed. The natural period of the specimen was similar to that of the actual 4 story frame building, and the columns were designed to behave with double-curvature having the infinite stiffness of the horizontal members. To investigate the effects seismic waves characteristics, historical and artificial excitations with various frequencies and acceleration magnitudes were applied. The natural frequencies, damping ratios, and mode shapes were obtained using frequency response functions obtained from dynamic response signals, and the mode vector deviations according to the input seismic waves were verified using the Mode assurance criterion (MAC). In addition, the damping ratios obtained from the vibration tests were applied to the structural model, and the method with refined dynamic characteristics was validated by comparing the analysis results with the experimental data.
This study was started by recognizing that visual storytelling(VST) is an important factor that determines the success of the work. The goal of this study is to analyze the VST study approaching from the narrative and visual dimension by analyzing the conflict intensity and VST factor. Therefore, in this paper, we analyzed the conflicts of the theater animation(4) that succeeded in the worldwide success and attempted the VST interpretation by approaching it technically. The results and contents of the study are as follows. Firstly, based on the narrative theory of Sung bong-Sun and Robert McKee, we classified the conflict scenes and found the kinds of conflicts. In addition, based on the 5B model, a total of 108 conflict shots were extracted. Secondly, through expert experiment, we found the conflict intensity of conflict shots. Thirdly, the visual elements of fifteen significant conflicts were extracted from internal and super individual conflicts. Fourth, as a result of the experiment, it was confirmed that the reliability of the visual elements in the inner and super personal conflicts was in the range of 100-83.33%, and the frequency of usage was found to be widely distributed in 5.88-70.59% and 5-70%. This means that the VST expression, which relied on the sense of the artist, can be engineered. Finally, I expect that it will be the basis of the development of the VST Tool which can predict the conflict expression of the work in the animation pre - production stage successfully.

This paper investigates the effects of tunnelling-induced ground movements on nearby structures, considering soil-structure interactions of different construction (ground loss) and soil characteristics. The response of four-story block structures, which are subjected to tunnelling-induced ground movements, has been investigated in different construction (ground loss) and soil conditions using numerical analysis. The structures for numerical analysis has been modelled using Discrete Element Method (DEM) to have real cracks when the shear and tensile stress exceed the maximum shear and tensile strength. The response of four-story block structures has been investigated with a ground movement magnitude and compared in terms of construction (ground loss) and soil conditions considering the magnitude of deformations and cracks in structures. In addition, the damage levels, which are possibly induced in structures, has been provided in terms of construction (ground loss) and soil conditions using the state of strain damage estimation criterion (Son and Cording, 2005). The results of this study will provide a background for better understandings for controlling and minimizing building damage on nearby structures due to tunnelling-induced ground movements.
Syenite is the name of a rock that has been used since ancient Roman period, but it is not widely distributed worldwide, and cases of its use as a material for Korean stone cultural heritages are very rare. However, the Three-story Stone Pagoda in Beomhak-ri of Sancheong, is composed of syenite, and each stone property has very similar rock phases, mineral compositions, grain sizes, colors and magnetic susceptibilities, indicating that they are all stones of the same rock series. Outcrops of syenite are relative widely distributed in the Beomhak-ri area, and it was mined for use as building stones until recently. This rock is almost identical in overall colors, occurrences, and mineralogical and petrological characteristics to that of the stone pagoda, and the geochemical evolution trends of the rocks are also very similar. In addition, numerous quarrying traces were identified in the same rock around the Beomhaksaji Temple site. In this way, the original stone properties of the Beomhak-ri Stone Pagoda were determined to be syenite because precise petrological and geochemical analysis and provenance interpretation was possible, the syenite was distributed around the temple site, and ancient quarrying traces were scattered in the same rocks. Therefore, it can be interpreted that the Beomhak-ri Stone Pagoda was processed and constructed using self-sufficient stone materials from the temple site area.
