  • 깊이데이터는 CG 또는 실사 영상에서 획득되는데 입체 영상 분야에서 활용도가 높다. 예를 들어 2D영상의 3D화질 개선, 입체영상의 입체감 개선 등의 활용이 되고 있다. 본 논문에서는 이러한 추세에 맞추어 홀로그램을 생성하는 입력 데이터의 전처리과정으로 통하여 CGH 홀로그램을 개선하는 영상처리 기술을 제안한다. 입력 데이터의 전처리를 통해 생성된 홀로그램 영상의 화질 개선을 제안하고, 실험을 통해 제안 방법의 우수성을 보여준다.

A Spatial Planning Model for Supporting Facilities Allocation and Visual Evaluation in Improvement of Rural Villages (농촌마을개발의 시설배치 및 시각적 평가 지원을 위 한 공간계획 모형)

  • The purpose of this study is to develop a 3 dimensional spatial planning model (3DSPLAM) for facilities allocation and visual evaluation in improvement planning of rural village. For the model development, this study developed both planning layers and a modelling process for spatial planning of rural villages. The 3DSPLAM generates road networks and village facilities location automatically from built area plan map and digital elevation model generated by geographic information system. The model also simulates 3-dimensional villagescape for visual presentation of the planned results. The 3DSPLAM could be conveniently used for automatic allocation of roads, easy partition of land lots and reasonable locating of facilities. The planned results could be also presented in the stereoscopic models with varied viewing positions and angles.

  • In this paper, we propose a novel program specific information structure(PSI) in MPEG-2 system for a three-dimensional broadcasting system while guaranteeing compatibility with the conventional digital broadcasting system. The proposed PSI structure including a descriptor of contents type, 2D or 3D, provides service providers with a function of combining 2D and 3D contents freely. However the descriptor is ignored in the conventional digital broadcasting set-top box. With the proposed PSI structure, we designed and implemented a three-dimensional broadcasting system. The proposed system has 2D or 3D display mode for providing user's preference in a three-dimensional broadcasting environment.

  • 본 논문에서는 영역분할을 이용한 3D입체영상의 밝기 보정방법을 제안한다. 제안된 방법은 입력된 좌우 3D입체영상 중 우 영상을 이진화를 통한 영역분할을 하고 크기가 작은 영역들은 제거한다. 영역단위의 매칭을 할 때 영역경계에서 발생하는 불연속성을 제거하기 위해서 모폴로지 필터로 영역경계지역(contour region)을 일정부분 제거한다. 우 영상의 각 영역들에 대해 대응되는 좌 영상내의 영역을 상관계수(correlation coefficient)를 이용한 정합을 통해 추출한다. 좌우 영상의 영역 간 히스토그램 명세화를 수행함으로써 우 영상의 밝기 보정을 한다. 실험에서 좌 영상으로부터 블록단위 움직임보상으로 우 영상을 생성했을 때 제안한 방법이 블록평균 정합오차가 가장 작은 것을 확인 할 수 있었다.

Autostereoscopic Display based on Dual Layer Parallax Barrier (이중 계층 패렐랙스 배리어 기반의 무안경식 3D 디스플레이)

  • We introduce a parallax barrier type autostereoscopic display in order to overcome the limited viewing angle of the conventional parallax barrier type displays. The proposed method adopts a special structure of double pairs of ITO that have a common TN-LC at the core of the conventional parallax barrier. Compared with the conventional parallax barrier type displays, the proposed display uses moving parallax barriers and eye tracking system to make stereoscopic view images adapted to the movement of viewer. We implemented a prototype of the proposed dual layer parallax barrier system, and verified that the proposed autostereoscopic display maintains seamless 3D views even when a viewer's head is moving.

  • In this paper, we present a depth scaling method for multiview images that could provide an 3D depth that a user prefers. Unlike previous works that change a camera configuration, the proposed method utilizes depth data in order to carry out the scaling of a depth range requested by users. From multivew images and their corresponding depth data, depth data is transformed into a disparity and the disparity is adjusted in order to control the perceived depth. In particular, our method can deal with multiview images captured by multiple cameras, and can be expanded from stereoscopic to multiview images. Based upon a DSCQS subjective evaluation test, our experimental results tested on an automultiscopic 3D display show that the perceived depth is appropriately scaled according to user's preferred depth.

  • Observers usually experience visual fatigue when they watch contents displayed on 3D display. There has been various research on visual fatigue incurred in stereoscopic displays that use 3D glasses, but relatively less studies have been done in the area of autostereoscopic displays. i3D system refers to interactive 3D system that makes it possible for users to interact with contents using their hands. Current research measured visual fatigue that users experience from i3D under various visual environments. We examined the effects of viewing distance, disparities and visual orientation on visual fatigue in i3D. The results indicated that visual fatigue decreased with longer distance and smaller disparity. Visual fatigue increased with angle when 3D fusion was unstable. In addition, there was an interaction effect between angle and distance in which visual fatigue increased with distance under stable 3D fusion but there was no difference in visual fatigue as a function of distance when 3D fusion was unstable. These results would be importantly used to develop autostereoscopic displays that minimize visual fatigue.

  • Simultaneous measurement with PLIF(Planar Laser-Induced Fluorescence) and Stereo-PIV(Stereo Particle Image Velocimetry) was performed to investigate the structural characteristics of flow field in Rushton Turbine Mixer. Instantaneous 3D velocity fields are measured by two 2K${\times}$2K CCD cameras focused on an object plane with the angular displacement methods while the concentration fields are obtained through the measurement of the fluorescence intensity of Rhodamine B tracer excited by the second pulse of Nd:Yag laser light. Image distortion due to the camera view-angle is compensated by a mapping function. Finally, the spatial structures of turbulent flow around Rushton turbine were identified by the calculation of synchronized data of the velocity field and concentration field.

  • 조명각 변조방식에 의한 3차원 디스플레이 모듈의 구성요소는 back light unit(BLU), stripe-patterned LC shutter, lenticular lens sheet이다. 이런 3차원 디스플레이 에서 조명각도의 올바른 변조를 위해서는 stripe-patterned LC shutter, lenticular lens sheet 상호 결합이 가장 중요하다. 그림 1 은 이러한 입체영상 module의 개념도이다. 그림과 같이 LC shutter위에 적절한 렌티큘러 렌즈 어레이를 설치할 때, 줄무늬 모양의 면 광원에서 방출된 빛이 한번은 정확히 오른쪽 눈으로 다음 번에는 왼쪽 눈으로 향하게 하여 양안 시차에 의해 3D영상이 보이도록 하는 것이 이 모듈의 핵심원리이다.   • With the rapid penetration of digital technology In recent years, there are growing expectations that many new services will soon become available. One of the new services is 3Dimension(3D) services, because our concern is concentrated on the quality of information that exceeds the digitalization of information. A stereoscopic technique for generating 3D images is contributed to raise the quality of Information and Communication Technology(ICT) service and is extensively applied to various fields. So 3D services, based on that technique, are expected to create a new market for ICT industry and provide significant benefits to consumers. The purpose of this paper is to analyze the consumer preference and evaluate the economic value of the 3D broadcasting service, so it provides propriety of the 3D technology development for market planners and product developers who need to assess the market potential of a product that is not yet available for actual test marketing. And it is useful for decision-makers in considering the provision of 3D services. In this paper, the gang survey was conducted to understand consumer preference of 3D services. And it attempts to apply the contingent valuation method(CVM) to measuring the willingness to Pay(WTP) for the 3D broadcasting service and analyzing the determinants of the WTP.
