Numerical Analysis of Viscous Flow on the Periodic Oscillating Flat Plate using Unsteady CFD Code (비정상 CFD 코드를 이용한 주기성 하모닉 진동 평판 위의 점성유동 수치해석)

  • Here, the unsteady Navier-Stokes solver has been developed using implicit dual time stepping method. The implicit dual time stepping method introduced the pseudo time step for solving the new residual including the steady state residual and real time derivative. For the validation of code, Stokes 2nd problem, the laminar flow on the oscillating flat plate was selected and compare the calculating results with analytic solutions. The calculating velocity profile and skin friction has a good agreement with analytic solutions.

  • This paper presents a new time-stepping 3-D analysis method coupled with an external circuit with motion equation for dynamic transient analysis of induction machines. In this method, the magneto-motive force (MMF) generated by induced current is modeled as a passive source in the magnetic equivalent network. So, by using only scalar potential at each node, the method is able to analyze induction machines with faster computation time and less memory requirement than conventional numerical methods. Also, this method is capable of modeling the movement of the mover without the need for re-meshing and analyzing the time harmonics for dynamic characteristics. From comparisons between the results of the analysis and the experiments, it is verified that the proposed method is capable of estimating the torque, harmonic field, etc. as a function of time with superior accuracy.

Research on the Slit Length of Tight Skirts (타이트 스커트 뒤트임 길이에 관한 연구)

  • The purpose of this research was to ascertain the optimum rear slit length of tight skirts in terms of comfort and appearance. The typical measurements of tight skirts on current market were recorded and a questionnaire survey of women in their twenties was conducted in order to find out the current conditions of the skirts and specific complaints about motion restrictions. Just over half the respondents (50.4%) reported that they had experienced damage to the slit usually when they were stepping on a bus and also walking and running. The clothing test showed that the slit length increased as the motion went from "walking" to "going up stairs", and to "stepping on a bus" In addition the slit length significantly decreased as the hem circumference of skirt became wider. On the basis of those results, a wearing test, evaluating sensual comfort and appearance, was also conducted and the results showed that the slit length of 385mm was most prefered.

  • This paper describes the design of a 2-phase stepping motor driver using CPLD(Complex Programmable Logic Device). The driver IC such as L297 (SGS-Thomson Microelectronics), which is mostly used has some problems in PWM control because of the switching noise of power MOSFETs. It causes current ripple and acoustic noise. To improve theses characteristics, we proposed a new current control method that the output PWM frequency is almost constant using a digital filter. Also we proposed constant current method for 1-2 phase(half step) excitation. The proposed method is implemented with CPLD(Xilinx, XC9572-PC44). Experimental results show the effectiveness of the proposed method.

  • 2D analysis is impossible for Hybrid stepping motor(HSM) and 3D analysis is necessary because the permanent magnet is magnetized to the axial direction. In this paper, the characteristics of HSM are analyzed by using 3D equivalent magnetic circuit network method(3D EMCNM). In addition, the trapezoidal element is introduced for the exact permeance calculation in the complex shape machinery such as HSM. The magnetic saturation of core is considered.

  • In this paper, a newly radial electronic shearography system was developed in order to study vibration characteristics of symmetrical objects. We utilized the electro-optic holography theory for quantificational analysis and a porror prism for shearing two inages radially in this study. These image data obtained by this shearography give us various distributions of the gradient of vibration amplitude, and they are useful informations to study vibrational characteristics of symmetrical objects. Finally this developed system with phase stepping and modulation was applied to fans and disks to inspect characteristics of the vibration and the blance of symmetrical objects and obtained good results.
