  • The linear hybrid stepping motors (LHSM) has been widely used due to its simple structure and low cost control. Despite of its attractive features, the conventional LHSM has the multiples of 4th times harmonic reluctance force from excitation current and cogging force from space harmonic of permeance. This paper propose a new LHSM, which the mechanical and electrical phase difference are 45$^{\circ}$. The proposed motor shows a unique ability to deliver low detent force and we propose a closed-loop control scheme to attack the ripple force for high performance applications. An analytical and experimental comparison between conventional and proposed LHSM is evaluated to confirm the effectiveness of the proposed modeling and control scheme.

  • The subject is to find green roofs' location as stepping stones in green-network in fine scale. The study site is Junggu, Seoul, which has core areas(Bukaksan and Namsan) and green areas(parks, etc.). Through literature review, the closer to core areas and green areas, target species reach green roof easier, and target species must be avifauna(flying species) and high class in food chain, because of possibility of reaching. So, Great Tits, inhabited in Namsan and urban bird, is target species. The location standard of green roofs, realized birds' reaching distance, consists of home range(horizontal range and vertical range) and roof-greening capable area. The green roofs' distribution of location was resulted through GIS analysis of feasible site finding, and classified with weight of score. In discussion, Namsan gives more effect to locate green roofs than Bukaksan does and selected buildings which are grouped in some parts need to be managed with group, green roof district.

  • We are analyzed the characteristics of maximum thrust and normal force for new model of HB typed LSM by using Finite Element Method and Virtual Work Method. As a result of this paper, it is confirmed that maximum thrust of the enhanced LSM increased 30% without increasing the input energy and the normal force.

  • In this paper. the constructive modeling procedure of nonholonomic mobile robot system is carried out with the help of controllability Lie algebra used in differential geometry field. and their geometrical properties are also analyzed. And, a new trajectory controller is suggested to guarantee its convergence to reference trajectory. Design procedure of the suggested trajectory controller is back-stepping scheme which was introduced recently in nonlinear control theory. The performance of the proposed trajectory controller is verified via computer simulation. In the simulation the trajectory controller is applied to differentially driven robot system on the assumption that the trajectory planner be given.

  • In this paper, it presents the design and implementation of a Microstep control IC using Programmable Logic Device(PLD). A Microstep driver is implemented with a 5-phase hybrid stepping motor, which has a Pentagon winding, power MOSFETs, and some devices to improve the system characteristics. The Microstep driving method is used for high performance motion control, low vibration and low noise in motor control system. The improvement of the electrical and mechanical driving characteristic of a step motor is achieved by applying microstep driver.

  • In the present study, solution algorithms for the connotation of unsteady flows on an unstructured mesh me presented Dual time stepping is incorporated to achieve the 2-nd order temporal accuracy while reducing the linearization and the factorization errors associated with a linear solver. Hence, any time step can be used by only considering physical phenomena. Gauss-Seidel scheme is used to solve linear system of equations. Rigid motion and suing analogy method for moving mesh are all considered and compared. Special treatments of suing analogy for high aspect ratio cells are presented. Finally, numerical results for oscillating ing are compared with experimental data.

  • A general approach of aerodynamic optimization of tall buildings is presented in this paper, focusing on how to best compromise wind issues with other design aspects in the most efficient manner. The given approach is reinforced by establishing an empirical method that can quickly assess the across-wind loads and accelerations as a function of building frequencies, building dimensions, aspect ratios, depth-to-width ratios, and site exposures. Effects of corner modifications, including chamfered corner and recessed corner, can also be assessed in early design stages. Further, to assess the effectiveness of optimization by tapering, stepping or twisting building elevations, the authors introduce a method that takes use of sectional aerodynamic data derived from a simple wind tunnel pressure testing to estimate reductions on overall wind loads and accelerations for various optimization options, including tapering, stepping, twisting and/or their combinations. The advantage of the method is to considerably reduce the amount of wind tunnel testing efforts and speed up the process in finding the optimized building configurations.

  • This paper presents a new precision stage by using the PZT actuator and stepping motor. The stage have the precision positioning mechanism that has been developed for generation displacements with nanometer accuracy and a millimeter dynamic range simulatneously. The stage is composed not of the mechanical elastic hinge but of the clamp, and only one PZT actuator. The displacement of stage is acquired by the control of the two clamp between the PZT actuator. The results of the FEM analysis in the contact part of the clamp and basic properties of the positioning system are also presented. Using the new stage proposed in this paper.

  • This study is focused on the design and performance test of an earthquake simulator using stepping motor. Stepping motor which controls the motion accurately with generated pulses is applied to the earthquake simulator. Earthquakes like El Centro and Taft are used as inputs to the earthquake simulator. First the number of pulses are calculated and sent to pulse generator, . Then the generator controls the simulator according to the pulse sings, It is shown that the measured signals from the simulator are in very good agreement with input signals of scale-downed earthquakes of El Centro and Taft. This simulator will be used for the experimental study of small-scaled building structures with tuned mass dampers under earthquakes.

  • This paper presents a method for calculating iron losses in three-phase induction motors under the inverter supply through the field-circuit coupled time-stepping finite element method (FEM). Iron losses are calculated by using the three-term iron losses separated model and modifying the loss coefficients obtained by the iron losses curves which are provided by the manufacturer under the sinusoidal supply. Simulation results by the presented method are verified by the measured results with an error lower than 5%, confirming the validity of the proposed method. Finally, iron losses distribution of the inverter-fed three-phase induction prototype motor is shown.
