This paper proposes a high efficiency step-down flyback converter using a coaxial-cable coupled-inductor which has a higher primary-secondary flux linkage than sandwich winding transformers. The structure of the two-winding coaxial cable transformer is described, and the coupling coefficient of the coaxial cable transformer and that of a sandwich winding transformer are compared. A circuit model of the proposed transformer is also obtained from the frequency-response curves of the secondary short-circuit and of the secondary open-circuit. Finally, the performance of the proposed transformer is validated by the experimental results from a 35W single-output flyback converter prototype. In addition, the proposed two-winding coaxial transformer is extended to a multiple winding coaxial application. For the performance evaluation of the extended version, 35W multi-output hardware prototype of the DC-DC flyback converter was tested.
By this time, Diode Rectifier or SCR has been used to gain DC Voltage for Electrolysis Power. Generally DC Voltage is produced from rectifier shall be transformed before rectifier using step-down transformer to obtain adaptable DC Voltage, rectifier output. In the same way, rectifier using SCR shall obtain output voltage after step-down voltage through transformer and control of the SCR firing angle. Transformer shall be used for this two methods to adjust the voltage. But the size and weight of the transformer are increased in accordance with the increase of capacity, and the hardships are accompanied in workspace or transportation. Besides, only the value of input voltage is possible to be regulated, and the expectation of current control is almost impossible during Electrolysis. This study has conducted Design and Simulation to reduce the size and weight of transformer and to be enable voltage and current control of Electrolysis power through high-speed switching using Inverter, Electronics device.
This paper present a new sort of multilayer piezoelectric ceramic transformer for AC-adapter. This piezoelectric transformer operates in the second longitudinal vibration mode. The output voltage of the multilayer piezoelectric transformer was simulated using ANSYS, that is one of the FEM analysis program. As results, the minimum displacement was occurred at the two paints where one is the middle of input and the other is middle of output side in second thickness extensional vibration mode. And output voltage was inversely decreased by increasing number of output layers. 缀 Ѐ㘰〻ሀ䝥湥牡氠瑥捨湯汯杹

In this paper, we have explained electrical characteristics of a step-down Rosen type piezoelectric transformer for AC-adapter. When the electric voltage is applied to the driving piezoelectric vibrator polarized in the longitudinal direction, then output voltage is generated at the generating piezoelectric vibrator polarized in the thickness direction due to the piezoelectric effects. From the piezoelectric direct and converse effects, symbolic expressions between the electric inputs and outputs of the step-down piezoelectric transformer have derived with an equivalent circuit model. With the symbolic expressions, load and frequency characteristics have discussed through simulation. Output voltage and current from a 11-layered and a 13-layered piezoelectric transformers were measured under the various conditions of loads and frequencies. First we measured resonant frequency from impedance curve and got equivalent impedance value of the piezoelectric transformer from admittance plot. It was shown from experiments that output voltage has increased and resonant frequency has changed according to various resistor loads. Output current has decreased inversely proportional to changing of loads. Moreover, the measured values of output voltage and current are well agreed with the simulated values of the proposed equivalent circuit model.

In this study, a step-down piezoelectric transformer was fabricated to utilize as an adapter for charging batteries of mobile electronic appliances. The ceramic part of the transformer is $Pb[(Mn_{1/3}Sb_{2/3})_{0.05}Zr_{0.475}Ti_{0.475}]O_3$ with mechanical quality factor of 1600, electromechanical coupling coefficient 59 %, and piezoelectric constant d33 1300, which can be utilized as a piezoelectric transformer. A simply fabricated disk-typed test pattern of diameter 28 mm and thickness 2 mm was used to characterize resonant frequency, Qm, kp according to the different input/output electrode area. efficiency and power as a function of load resistance was also investigated. The sample APT showed some spurious mode and BPT showed better frequency property. Taking all properties which are admittance, effective electromechanical coupling coefficient and mechanical quality factor most suitable for piezoelectric transformer is BPT which has 12 mm diameter electrode and the condition of 15 Vrms, 30 $\Omega$ made the maximum efficiency of 93.7 % and maximum power is 6W with 50 Vrms.

The combination of a buck converter and a forward converter can be considered to accomplish a high step-down non-isolated converter. To decrease the insufficient step-down ratio of a regular buck converter and to distribute switch voltage stress, a forward-integrated buck (FIB) converter is proposed in this paper. The proposed interleaved DC-DC converter provides an additional step-down gain with the help of a forward converter. In addition to its simple structure, the transformer flux reset problem is solved and an additional magnetic core reset winding is not required. The operational principle and an analysis of the proposed FIB converter are presented and verified by experimental results obtained with a 240 W, 150 V/24 V prototype.

The existing 24-pulse autotransformer rectifier unit (ATRU) needs interphase reactors for parallel work of the rectifier bridges, and its output voltage cannot be regulated. Aiming at these problems, a step-up and step-down asymmetrical 24-pulse ATRU is proposed in this paper. The connections and turns ratios among transformer windings are well designed. In addition, a 15-degree phase difference is formed between two of the 24 voltage vectors produced by the transformer, which makes the four rectifier bridge groups produce a 24-pulse DC voltage without interphase reactors. Meanwhile, by adding extended winding to each phase of the transformer, wide-range regulation of the ATRU output voltage can be realized, and the reasonable voltage regulation range is between 0.2 and 1.6. The superposition of the voltage vectors and the principle of the voltage regulation are analyzed in detail. Furthermore, the turns ratio of the windings, winding current, output voltage, and kilovolt-ampere rating are all derived. Finally, the simulations and experiments are carried out, and the correctness of the principle and theoretical analysis of the new 24-pulse ATRU are verified.

Piezoelectric transformers(PT) are expected to be small, thin and highly efficient, and which are attractive as a transformer with high power density for step down voltage. For these reasons, we have attempted to develop a step-down PT for the miniaturized adaptor. We propose a PT, operating in thickness extensional vibration mode for step-down voltage. This PT consists of a multi-layered construction in the thickness direction. In order to develop the step-down PT of 10 W class and turn ratio of 0.1 with high efficiency and miniaturization, the piezoelectric ceramics and PT designs are estimated with a variety of characteristics. The basic composition of piezoelectric ceramics consists of ternary yPb(Zr$_{x}$Ti$_{1-x}$)O$_{3}$-(1-y)Pb(Mn$_{1/3}$Nb1$_{1/3}$Sb$_{1/3}$)O$_{3}$. In the piezoelectric characteristics evaluations, at y=0.95 and x=0.505, the electromechanical coupling factor(K$_{p}$) is 58$\%$, piezoelectric strain constant(d$_{33}$) is 270 pC/N, mechanical quality factor(Qr$_{m}$) is 1520, permittivity($\varepsilon$/ 0) is 1500, and Curie temperature is 350 $^{\circ}C$. At y = 0.90 and x = 0.500, kp is 56$\%$, d33 is 250 pC/N, Q$_{m}$ is 1820, $\varepsilon$$_{33}$$^{T}$/$\varepsilon$$_{0}$ is 1120, and Curie temperature is 290 $^{\circ}C$. It shows the excellent properties at morphotropic phase boundary regions. PZT-PMNS ceramic may be available for high power piezoelectric devices such as PTs. The design of step-down PTs for adaptor proposes a multi-layer structure to overcome some structural defects of conventional PTs. In order to design PTs and analyze their performances, the finite element analysis and equivalent circuit analysis method are applied. The maximum peak of gain G as a first mode for thickness extensional vibration occurs near 0.85 MHz at load resistance of 10 .The peak of second mode at 1.7 MHz is 0.12 and the efficiency is 92$\%$.
