This paper proposes variable incremental conductance(IC) algorithm for maximum power point tracking(MPPT) control of photovoltaic. The conventional perturbation & observation(PO) and IC MPPT control algorithm generally uses fixed step size. A small step size reduces a tracking error in the steady state but slows a tracking speed in the transient state. Also, a large step size is fast a tracking speed but increases a tracking error. Therefore, this paper proposes variable IC MPPT algorithm that adjust automatically step size according to operating conditions. To improve a tracking speed and accuracy, when operating point is far from the maximum power point(MPP), the step size uses maximum value and when a operating point is near from the MPP, the step size uses variable step size that adjust according to slope of P-V curve. The validity of MPPT algorithm proposed in this paper prove through compare with conventional PO and IC MPPT algorithm.
An antenna tracking technique, referred to as "step track", is commonly used in communication applications. In this paper, an algorithm to improve the step-tracking technique for satellite tracking is proposed. We suggest a method by which the antenna scans the azimuth, detects the satellite signal without the position information, and points quickly to the direction receiving the signal of peak level. After reaching the peak level, the step-track system maintains enough signal levels to receive satellite broadcasting normally. Performance of the Tracking Algorithm proposed in this paper are verified with simulation.

This paper proposes the maximum power point tracking(MPPT) control of photovoltaic system using fuzzy based variable step size perturbation & observation(FVSS-PO) method. Conventional PO and incremental conductance(IC)MPPT control algorithm generally uses fixed step size. A small fixed step size will cause the tracking speed to decrease and tracking accuracy of the MPP will decrease due to large fixed step size. Therefore, the fixed step size can't be satisfying both the tracking speed and the tracking accuracy. This paper proposes FVSS-PO MPPT algorithm that adjusts automatically step size of PO by fuzzy control according to operating conditions. The validity of MPPT algorithm proposed in this paper prove through compare with conventional PO MPPT algorithm.

This paper poses tracking control and torque control methods to reduce torque ripple for bilateral symmetric trainers. As opposed to the conventional method, the torque control method for active joint movement is proposed. Using a step motor (PK296-03b, step angle: $1.8^{\circ}$), a simulator for a bilateral symmetric trainer is created, and the effectiveness of the proposed control method is verified through experiment results.
The power-voltage (P-V) characteristic of a photovoltaic (PV) array is nonlinear and time varying with the change in atmospheric conditions. As a result, the maximum power point tracking (MPPT) technique must be applied in PV systems to maximize the generated energy. The incremental conductance (INC) algorithm, one of the MPPT strategies, is widely used for its high tracking accuracy, good adaptability to rapidly changing atmospheric conditions, and easy implementation. This paper presents a modified asymmetrical variable step size INC MPPT method that is based on the asymmetrical feature of the P-V curve. Compared with conventional fixed or variable step size method, the proposed method can effectively improve tracking accuracy and speed. The theoretical foundation and design principle of the proposed approach are validated by the simulation and experimental results.
Our goal is to present a simple volume-of-fluid type interface-tracking algorithm to compressible two-phase flow in two space dimensions. The algorithm uses a uniform underlying Cartesian grid with some cells cut by the tracked interfaces into two subcells. A volume-moving procedure that consists of two basic steps: (1) the update of volume fractions in each grid cell at the end of the time step, and (2) the reconstruction of interfaces from discrete set of volume fractions, is employed to follow the dynamical behavior of the interface motion. As in the previous work with a surface-tracking procedure for general front tracking (LeVeque & Shyue 1995, 1996), a high resolution finite volume method is then applied on the resulting slightly nonuniform grid to update all the cell values, while the stability of the method is maintained by using a large time step wave propagation approach even in the presence of small cells and the use of a time step with respect to the uniform grid cells. A sample preliminary numerical result for an underwater explosion problem is shown to demonstrate the feasibility of the algorithm for practical problems.

This paper proposes adaptive incremental conductance(A-IC) algorithm for maximum power point tracking(MPPT) control of photovoltaic. Conventional Perturbation & Observation(PO) and IC MPPT control algorithm generally uses fixed step size. A small fixed step size will cause the tracking speed to decrease and tracking accuracy of the MPP will decrease due to large fixed step size. Therefore, this paper proposes N-IC MPPT algorithm that adjust automatically step size according to operating conditions. To improve tracking speed and accuracy, when operating point is far from maximum power point(MPP), step size uses maximum value and when operating point is near from MPP, step size uses variable step size that adjust according to slope of P-V curve. The validity of MPPT algorithm proposed in this paper prove through compare with conventional IC MPPT algorithm.
Variable step size maximum power point trackers (MPPTs) are widely used in photovoltaic (PV) systems to extract the peak array power which depends on solar irradiation and array temperature. One essential factor which judges system dynamics and steady state performances is the scaling factor (N), which is used to update the controlling equation in the tracking algorithm to determine a new duty cycle. This paper proposes a novel stability study of variable step size incremental resistance maximum power point tracking (INR MPPT). The main contribution of this analysis appears when developing the overall small signal model of the PV system. Therefore, by using linear control theory, the boundary value of the scaling factor can be determined. The theoretical analysis and the design principle of the proposed stability analysis have been validated using MATLAB simulations, and experimentally using a fixed point digital signal processor (TMS320F2808).

The outdoor antenna servo system is subject to has significant torque disturbances from wind pressures and gusts on the antenna structures, as well as bearing and aerodynamic frictions. This control system should provide a sharp directivity in spite of the environmental disturbances and internal uncertainties. Therefore, the implementation of a real-time controller is necessary for the precise generation of the reference signal and robust tracking performance. In this paper, the discrete-time controller for the quick tracking of a target communication satellite is designed by applying the sampled-data $H_{\infty}$ control theory along with the reference signal generated by an improved conventional step-tracking algorithm. The sampled-data $H_{\infty}$controller demonstrates superior robustness for the longer sampling period when compared with a simple PID controller.

In this thesis, we realized tracking system for the purpose of receiving performance improvement of KOREASAT's signal in Korea peninsula. Using Scan-mode antenna point out receivable area without position information sensor and using step-track algorithm reach to peak level. Furthermore, the performance of the completed system was verified by physical experiments that directly receives satellite signal. And decided the optimal size of steps for tracking speed and structure of the system by reiterative approach experiments.
