이중합성 교량의 복합스터드 전단연결부의 정적강도 평가 (Evaluation of Static Strength of Mixed Stud Shear Connection in Double Composite Bridges)

  • 철도교는 강성이 주요한 설계인자이기 때문에 기존의 2거더 교량의 구조적 효율성을 높이기 위해서 이중합성 구조를 가진 철도교를 제안하였다. 일반적으로 강합성 연속교를 설계할 경우, 부모멘트 구간에 존재하는 콘크리트 바닥판은 인장에 저항하지 못한다고 가정하고 바닥판 단면을 무시하게 된다. 부모멘트 구간에서는 합성단면의 강성이 감소하게 되므로 이를 보완하기 위해 강재단면이 커지게 되는데, 이러할 경우 변단면의 적용이 불가피하게 되고 강합성형으로서의 장점이 반감된다고 할 수 있다. 이와 같은 문제점을 해결하기 위한 다양한 접근법이 존재하지만 그 중에서도 경간을 확대하고 강성이 중요한 설계인자가 되는 경우에 적절하게 사용될 수 있도록 제안된 교량의 형태가 이중합성구조이다. 따라서 본 연구에서는 이중합성 전단연결부의 거동을 파악하기 위하여 수평스터드, 수평스터드와 수직스터드가 함께 배치된 복합스터드 부재에 대한 push-out 실험을 수행하였다. 실험결과의 분석을 통하여 기존의 설계식과의 비교를 수행하고 정적 거동을 평가하였다.

  • 본 연구는 케이블 파단이 콘크리트사장교의 동적거동에 미치는 영향을 강합성사장교에 대한 것과 비교하여 검토하는데 그 목적이 있다. 이를 위해, 강합성사장교를 대상으로 시간이력함수를 이용한 케이블 파단을 모사하는 적합한 해석기법을 검토하고, 동적확대계수를 평가하였다. 콘크리트사장교에서 계산된 동적확대계수를 설계기준을 기반으로 강합성사장교에 대한 것과 비교 검토하였다. 그 결과, 동적확대계수에 대한 현행 설계기준이 전반적으로 신뢰할 수 있는 것으로 판단되며 콘크리트사장교의 경우 동적확대계수 값이 강합성사장교에 비해 상대적으로 상승되는 경향을 보이나 설계기준을 만족한다.

Free vibration characteristics of horizontally curved composite plate girder bridges

  • This paper is concerned with free vibration characteristics and natural frequency of horizontally curved composite plate girder bridges. Three-dimensional finite element models are developed for the girders using the software package LUSAS and analyses carried out on the models. The validity of the finite element models is first established through comparison with the corresponding results published by other researchers. Studies are then carried out to investigate the effects of total number of girders, number of cross-frames and curvature on the free vibration response of horizontally curved composite plate girder bridges. The results confirm the fact that bending modes are always coupled with torsional modes for horizontally curved bridge girder systems. The results show that the first bending mode is influenced by composite action between the concrete deck and steel beam at low subtended angle but, on the girders with larger subtended angle at the centre of curvature such influence is non-existence. The increase in the number of girders results in higher natural frequency but at a decreasing rate. The in-plane modes viz. longitudinal and arching modes are significantly influenced by composite action and number of girders. If no composite action is taken into account the number of girders has no significant effect for the in-plane modes.

The Concrete Encased - Concrete Filled Steel Tubular (CE-CFST) column stands out as a distinctive composite structure, offering structural stability and resilience for various engineering applications. Comprising Reinforced Concrete (RC) and Concrete Filled Steel Tubular (CFST) components, CE-CFST columns are valued for their inherent properties, including ductility and rigidity, CE-CFST is commonly used in the construction of bridges, high-rise buildings, and more. This article aims to provide a concise overview of the evolutionary development of CE-CFST columns and their performance in structural applications. Through a comprehensive review, the study delves into the behaviour of CE-CFST columns under different scenarios. It examines the influences of key parameters such as size, infills, cross section, failure causes, and design codes on the performance of CE-CFST columns, highlighting their enhanced functionality and future potential. Moreover, the review meticulously examines previous applications of CE-CFST columns, offering insights into their practical implementation.

Interface friction in the service load assessment of slab-on-girder bridge beams

  • Many slab-on-girder bridges around the world are being assessed because they are approaching the end of their anticipated design lives or codes are permitting higher allowable loads. Current analytical techniques assume that the concrete and steel components act independently, typically requiring full-scale load testing to more accurately predict the remaining strength or endurance of the structure. However, many of the load tests carried out on these types of bridges would be unnecessary if the degree of interaction resulting from friction at the steel-concrete interface could be adequately modeled. Experimental testing confirmed that interface friction has a negligible effect on the flexural capacity of a slab-on-girder beam however, it also showed that interface friction is significant under serviceability loading. This has led to the development of an improved analytical technique which is presented in this paper and referred to as the slab-on-girder mixed analysis service load assessment approach.

  • A post-tensioned reinforced concrete slab bridge is analyzed by specially orthotropic laminate theory. Symmetrically reinforced slab with tension and compression steel is considered for convenience of analysis. Each longitudinal and transverse steel layer is regarded as a lamina, and material constants of each lamina is calculated by the use of the rule of mixture. This bridge is under uniformly distributed vertical loads, and axial loads and end moments due to post-tensioning. In this paper, finite difference method is used for numerical analysis of this bridge. Theory and analysis method of specially orthotropic laminate plates used in this paper can be used for design of new bridges, and maintenance and repair of old bridges.

  • 교량은 주행차량에 의하여 지속적이며 반복적인 변형에너지가 발생하며, 이러한 교량의 변형에너지를 압전소자를 이용하여 전기에너지로 변환 할 수 있다. 하지만 압전소자를 구조물에 부착하여 구조물의 운동에너지를 전기에너지로 변환하여 사용하기 위해서는 구조물에 작용하는 하중 및 하중에 따라 압전소자에서 발생하는 변형률 관계 등이 제시되어야 압전소자를 합리적으로 적용할 수 있는 가능성을 평가할 수 있다. 따라서 본 연구에서는 압전소자를 교량 구조물에 적용하였을 때 발생하는 전압을 평가하기 위하여 강교량을 모사한 강합성 거더 교량 실험체를 제작하고 교량의 하중효과 등을 고려한 하중을 재하하고 이에 따라 압전소자에서 발생되는 전압을 평가하고 압전전압의 제안식과 실험결과를 비교하였다.

Prediction of vibration and noise from steel/composite bridges based on receptance and statistical energy analysis

  • The noise from the elevated lines of rail transit has become a growing problem. This paper presents a new method for the rapid prediction of the structure-borne noise from steel or composite bridges, based on the receptance and Statistical Energy Analysis (SEA), which is essential to the study of the generation mechanism and the design of a low-noise bridge. First, the vertical track-bridge coupled vibration equations in the frequency domain are constructed by simplifying the rail and the bridge as an infinite Timoshenko beam and a finite Euler-Bernoulli beam respectively. Second, all wheel/rail forces acting upon the track are computed by taking a moving wheel-rail roughness spectrum as the excitation to the train-track-bridge system. The displacements of rail and bridge are obtained by substituting wheel/rail forces into the track-bridge coupled vibration equations, and all spring forces on the bridge are calculated by multiplying the stiffness by the deformation of each spring. Then, the input power to the bridge in the SEA model is derived from spring forces and the bridge receptance. The vibration response of the bridge is derived from the solution to the power balance equations of the bridge, and then the structure-borne noise from the bridge is obtained. Finally, a tri-span continuous steel-concrete composite bridge is taken as a numerical example, and the theoretical calculations in terms of the vibration and noise induced by a passing train agree well with the field measurements, verifying the method. The influence of various factors on wheel/rail and spring forces is investigated to simplify the train-track-bridge interaction calculation for predicting the vibration and noise from steel or composite bridges.

  • Glass-fiber reinforced polyester(GFRP) composite material is a promising alternative to existing construction materials such as steel, concrete and wood. One of passible applications of GFRP composite material is to build temporary bridges by assembling GFRP composite decks. In this paper, we develop a system of temporary arch bridges that can be built by easy assembling of GFRP composite decks. For this purpose, several types of temporary arch bridges are suggested and verified by FE analysis.

  • 본 논문에서는 2경간 강합성교량의 내하력을 향상시키기 위해, 외부 긴장재로 보강하는 방법을 제시하였다. 긴장재를 직선 배치하였을 경우, 외부하중으로 인한 증가 프리스트레스력을 가상일의 원리로 구하였고, 증가 프리스트레스를 고려한 내하율 산정식을 제시하였다. 제안된 내하율 산정식으로부터, 긴장재 개수와 초기 긴장력의 계산방법을 제시하였다. 본 방법을 2경간 강합성교량에 적용하여, 산정식의 타당성과 합리성을 검증하였다.
