Generalized Pareto distribution play an important role in reliability, extreme value theory, and other branches of applied probability and statistics. This family of distribution includes exponential distribution, Pareto or Lomax distribution. In this paper, we established exact expressions and recurrence relations satised by the quotient moments of generalized order statistics for a generalized Pareto distribution. Further the results for quotient moments of order statistics and records are deduced from the relations obtained and a theorem for characterizing this distribution is presented.

This paper proposes a new generalized iterative method (SSOR-like method) for solving augmented system. A functional equation relating two involved parameters is obtained, and some convergence conditions for this method are derived. This paper generalizes some foregone results. Numerical examples show that, this method is efficient by suitable choices of the involved parameters.

We treat the problem of estimating reliability R = P[Y < X] in the stress-strength model in which a unit of strength X is subfected to enviromental stress Y./ In this paper several nonparametric approaches to estimation of R are analyzed and compared by simulations.

Detecting outliers in a linear regression model eventually fails when similar observations are classified differently in a sequential process. In such circumstances, identifying clusters and applying certain methods to the clustered data can prevent a failure to detect outliers and is computationally efficient due to the reduction of data. In this paper, we suggest to implement a clustering procedure for this purpose and provide examples that illustrate the suggested procedure applied to the Hadi-Simonoff (1993) method, reverse Hadi-Simonoff method, and Gentleman-Wilk (1975) method.

In this paper, we discuss simple ways of implementing non-basic kernel density estimators which typically ceed extra pilot estimation. The methods utilize order statistics at the pilot estimation stages. We focus mainly on bariable lacation and scale kernel density estimator (Jones, Hu and McKay, 1994), but the same idea can be applied to other methods too.

본 논문에서는 플레이어의 감정 이입을 위한 게임 캐릭터 디자인 방법으로 RPG 장르의 능력치 변화량에 따라 인간의 감정 요소가 적용된 게임 캐릭터 걷기 동작을 구현하였다. 인간의 얼굴 표정에서 나타나는 기본적인 감정 요소와 캐릭터 애니메이션에서 감정 요소가 적용된 걷기 동작을 분석해 보고, RPG 장르의 능력치 요소와의 상관관계를 통해 인간의 감정 요소가 적용된 걷기 동작을 8가지 형태로 분류하였다. 이것을 RPG 게임 캐릭터 중 인간의 외형적인 특징과 가장 유사한 기사 캐릭터에 적용시켜 능력치 변화량에 따라 달라지는 걷기 동작을 구현하였다. 인간의 감정 요소가 적용된 게임 캐릭터를 플레이어가 직접 제어함으로써 플레이어의 게임 캐릭터에 대한 감정 이입 효과가 높아질 것이고 게임에 대한 몰입도가 증가할 것으로 예상된다.

우리나라 환경통계의 현주소를 살펴보고, 유럽연합 환경통계와 유엔이 권고하는 환경통계와 비교하여 우리나라 환경통계의 부족한 점을 지적하기로 한다. 그리고 환경 통계의 작성과 활용을 위하여 바람직한 발전 방향이 무엇인가를 고찰하여 보기로 한다.

The aim of the present paper is to study LP-Sasakian manifolds admitting *-Einstein soliton satisfying certain curvature conditions. Finally, we have constructed a 3-dimensional example of an LP-Sasakian manifold admitting *-Einstein soliton.

본 연구에서는 이동통신사의 네트웍 관리의 효율성 향상을 목적으로 이동통신 통화량 자료의 통계적 특성을 분석하고, 이를 통하여 월별 통화량 자료를 요약하기 위한 통계적 방법을 국내 특정 이동통신사의 사례를 중심으로 살펴보게 된다.
